Great experience. Great food. Was able to book for 8 people for Sunday Brunch! Ir was also family friendly. Lots of young kids on he patio with us. The only thing that was less than perfect was the loud bass they kept playing. It wasn’t exactly Sunday brunch music.
The atmosphere was great! The food was delicious but you had to eat it before the flies landed on it. The staff were very friendly.
Great food and hip interior but if you want a place for quiet conversation, this isn't it! There were several large tables that were very boisterous until their food came. Nonetheless, Madison is a fun place with good food and an interesting cocktail and wine list.
Generous portions and an excellent value. They don't hover over you and we had a leisurely Saturday night dinner with friends and had no pressure to leave.
Melea was fabulous! She took great care of us as we celebrated our bride to be! The food and ambiance was outstanding. I’ll be daydreaming of the churro sticks for days! To die for!
Great food, Great service and the atmosphere is so chik. We will defiantly be back to Madison!
Great Food! Friendly Staff!! Easy Parking! Interesting interior!!
Would have been 5 stars overall but the portions are teeeeeeny!
Well done interesting dishes. Very cool room. The flies were a bit of a bummer though.
Service used to be way better. If you sit in a booth in the bar, the bartenders also service those tables and it is challenging to get their attention for service.
Great atmosphere, the design of the restaurant is unique with an amazing wood ceiling. Amazing cocktail menu with fantastic food. Fun!
I have eaten here before and it was really good. This time it was just ok, the vegetables were cold and the pork chop was almost sent back for not being done. I was disappointed.
Food was delicious, service was great, but it was SOOO loud. We went on Saturday night around 7pm.
Food was delicious! I really enjoyed the gnocchi, soooo good.
My new favorite hot spot in San Diego! Absolutely delicious food, incredible service and fabulous atmosphere! Highly recommend it!
The noise from the “music” next door at a different bar was unbearable. We couldn’t sit in the restaurant because it was so loud. We were seated in the Madison bar, but it was still very loud and disturbing. I won’t make a reservation again without having a backup plan for a different restaurant. The management was apparently unable, or unwilling to do anything about it.
Been here a few times. Once again, did not disappoint!
We came for brunch during a bachlorette party and the brides name is Madison. Our service was the sweetest ever and the bartender threw together a shot and named is Madison for us. Definitely recommend to anyone! 💕
This was my second visit at Madison. It’s such a pretty restaurant, you’ll probably want pictures! The food was great both times. I most recently got the Papas Locas and they didn’t disappoint. The portions are fair and I had some left over.
My only complaint is that the fly issue is a bit out of hand. I’m not sure what they can do about this consider it’s a pretty open space. But it was distracting to be swatting away flies during my meal and conversation.
Overall a nice experience!
First time at Madison for dinner (have enjoyed brunch there a couple of times). Highlight was staff - delightful server, Julia, and attentive busboy (busman?) who noticed my husband could use a spoon to twirl his pasta. His meal — the special — was delicious (linguine and shrimp). I enjoyed the salmon skewers and orzo (accompanying salad was overdressed). Brie appetizer was rather unremarkable compared to Cohn Restaurant’s version. Love the atmosphere at Madison, especially after dark!
Nice restaurant if you are into simplistic eating. The menu is very limited. I want be in a hurry to go back. This is not a place to take kids. The design of the restaurant was nice.
Such a beautiful restaurant! A modern, creative design and great ambiance. Took my family visiting from out of town to dinner here and while it was a bit too loud for some of our older family members we had a perfect experience! Our server took their time going over the menu with us and gave spot on recommendations for both cocktails and dinner. Every single dish was a hit! My only comment in terms of opportunity for improvement is we had 3 family style courses, and our server did not provide fresh plates or crumb the table in between any of the courses. After a juicy watermelon salad you kind of want a fresh plate before you dig into a pork chop. An easy and much appreciated step of service. But overall, I can’t wait to come back to Madison. Honestly, one of my favorite meals to date in a San Diego!
The quality of the food was very tasty. The location is easy to find, just be patient with parking. The menu is short and sweet on the list but packs a delicious punch to your taste buds!
Very unimpressed with the food and service. The bar area was great and the bartenders were very friendly. The rest of the evening felt uneventful and food lacked quality
Great food, open & airy very good service. I will come back here.
Had a 13 person family reunion group for brunch. Service was accommodating and attentive. The food was really delicious and the menu was broad enough to handle several family members who had dietary limitations and concerns. Such a great find in University Heights.
First time at Madison. Celebrating our son's new house in North Park. Loved the restaurant. Great service and the food was excellent. Very good cocktails and unique too! Place inside is very trendy and upbeat. A bit loud but what we expected.
Bday of mother in law
I love their drinks, they are amazing! Madison is one of my favorite SD spots
Fell in love with the ambience! And we were seated right on time. The food was delicious and seasoned well, too!
Such a Instagram-worthy place with amazing food and drinks. Affordable too! Perfect spot for any occasion.
Great atmosphere, friendly service and terrific food. We especially enjoyed the skirt steak benedict and chilaquiles!
Service and food were excellent! One of my favorite brunch spots!
First time at Madison and may be the last. Thought I would be more impressed with the food and choices. The Portobello fries, while tasty, are too battered and have too little of the portobello. Liked when Madison was offering a free dessert when you had seen a play at the Diversionary Theatre. That needs to be reinstated if you want to bring in more people.
Soooo loud. Need to find another time and day when we can really enjoy the great food without ear-splitting noise.
Outstanding food combinations here. Whatever you order, get it with the jalapeño-blackberry jam on the side. A few too many flies buzzing around, but it’s a pitfall our open-air dining.
The food was delicious, excellent service.. The restaurant it self is great..
Excellent food; lovely service, FAR TOO NOISY. ......................................................................................
Best pork chop I've ever had!! Absolutely outstanding!!
If you don't order the pork chop you're an idiot.
Best brunch ever. Moving nearby to be closer.
Excellent food (lots of variety & flavorful options) & service! The ambience is open yet cool & relaxing (although noisy). The only downside was there were flies around (midday), specially the area we were seated in the back corner. They were accommodating for our baby & stroller. Would highly recommend!
