I love coming to Madison for the ambiance, delicious food, friendly staff, and my dog loves it too!
Great decor, very good food, and wonderful service. Drinks are also really good.
My husband and I enjoyed a date night here on a Friday evening. We had a reservation and were seated quickly. The ambiance of this place is absolutely charming. We started off with some cocktails. I had the first drink listed on the menu and it was perfect. We enjoyed a few starters and shared the Pork chop for dinner. The food was delicious. Julia took care of us and was attentive and sweet. Will be back for sure to try out more of their cocktails and entrees.
Best birthday dinner ever!
A new place for us! The chicken shish kebob (and the accompanying rice) and the swordfish were great! A bit loud. Interesting architecture - there is an open ceiling in the entry after you go through the bar!
A group of 12 gathered before a play. The drinks were delish. I heard happy feedback about food from diners. Only thing that could be better would be separate checks for the six couples. It’s not easy to parse drinks and meals for so many.
food was not good,
it really lack the taste and was not worth considering the money I paid
Food was delicious and expensive. They were busy, drinks are good but VERY small in size
It was for valentines. The tuna tar tar and the steak chimichurri was amazing. The swordfish was quite tasty as well.
The only thing that was lacking was the speed of service. We found ours let’s waiting a while to order more drinks and get water.
The prix-fixe menu for Valentine's Day was awesome and the $16 for cocktail pairings with each course was a terrific value.
Madison is a great spot for special occasions or just a delicious meal. The food is exquisite and so are the drinks. One of our favorite spots for sure.
The food was okay, a little pricey and the portions were not as advertised on Yelp. The tuna tartare was pretty good and side salad was like a Caesar salad.
They were great and honored our request for a more quiet table. Cocktails are delish!
Galentines! It was amazing!!!
Food, service and people there in general are the best. Love happy hour, brunch and dinner.
The food is amazing, even the vegan selection. The drinks are amazing try the aquavit. Yeah never heard of it either, but it is delicious.
Had my birthday brunch here, and all the staff was so patient and accommodating! The mimosas are amazing and the juices they use are unique! The food was also delicious (I got the G.O.A.T)! The ambiance was nice and chic and the open space is refreshing. I wish I remembered our servers name but she was amazing! Prompt, friendly, and patient. Thanks for the great experience! All my friends and I loved it.
We attended Madison for a mid-day Sunday brunch for a party of 9. The restaurant was nice and well decorated and like their advertisement says, very open. Unfortunately, with such a wide-open design it was extremely loud and difficult to have a normal conversation. The restaurant is pet-friendly vs. service dog-friendly which is something my party tends to stay away from (personal preference). The service was good, we did have an order mix up which took longer than expected to resolve. Our party had finished our meals before the corrected order came out. I'm not sure if we'll be coming back or if their dinner service differs from their brunch - hopefully, it does.
Madison was AMAZING! The food was very high quality, definitely worth the price. The staff went out of their way to make the night special (it was my birthday dinner) and the ambiance was beautiful. I have dietary sensitivities to dairy and gluten and they even brought out a complimentary dairy and gluten-free cheesecake for my birthday that was sooo good! Totally unexpected. Will definitely be coming back. :)
Food, drinks, and service were great! Tony the server was super helpful and we all had a great time.
Our server was amazing. I believe his name was Tony. Excellent recommendations and his service was amazing. It was my birthdayand he went above and beyond! The food never disappoints.
It was our first visit and we had a reservation for three at 8p on a Friday. It took 35 minutes to find parking, so, we were looking forward to a cocktail - we asked the hostess if we had time to get a drink at the bar before sitting, and she said that was fine. It was so packed, that we couldn't get to the bar to order, so after 10 minutes of trying we just asked for our table. It was not close to any space heaters (and, because there is nice, open air, it was chilly.) No server greeted us or came by with water for 11 minutes. We had to ask at the hostess stand for them to send over our server, who was adorable and apologetic. We explained how long we'd been waiting and that we'd like to put in our drink orders asap - we felt bad for her, as the bartender was so busy that it took another 15 minutes for us to get our two cocktails and a beer. After that, all went fairly well. The food was very good, and we ordered a bottle of wine so that we wouldn't have to wait for bar service again. I'd consider going back, but probably not on a weekend.
Ambience is great but a bit drafty from the patrio area being open to the inside seating. Way overpriced for the portion size. My salad was side salad sized at an entree price. Cappuccino was tiny for 4 or 5 dollars.
We had a delicious Sunday ladies brunch at Madison and had a wonderful time! The staff are friendly and very attentive. My dog also had good time. Thanks again!
First time here and will be back. Loved the ambiance, the decor and friendly staff. The food and drinks were amazing! I had the G.O.A.T. and it was delicious! The blue dream mimosa is a new favorite! Cant wait to go back.
Jacob our server was wonderful. He helped make our experience at the Madison
Great ambiance. Quiet enough to have a conversation but not whisper silent. Staff was first rate.
Such a lovely breakfast with friends! Our server was exceptional! He had great recommendations, was friendly and surprised us with club soda and napkins when he noticed us wiping food off of our clothing.
I noted it was my birthday and he comped our order of the churro waffle plate we shared! I’d happily return for the waffles alone but the drinks were perfect too and the entrees were so flavorful!
I can’t finish without saying how lovely the restaurant actually is! It’s no wonder they received an Orchid Award for design! Truly unique and lovely! I can’t wait to return.
Super cute spot with amazing brunch and attentive service!
It was like eating on a dance floor. Way too noisy. The music kept getting louder and louder.
The restaurant is beautiful. Cocktails were good. Tuna tartare and the Mac and cheese extremely bland.
Service was a bit slow and many other people got their food before us even tho we ordered first. Not too big a deal but took away from overall experience
Stopped by for a double date and had an excellent selection of cocktails and apps. All the dishes were wonderful and the gnocchi were notably delicious.
The staff there is friendly, and our server Tony was fantastic. It’s a great ambiance and beautiful at night, while being vibrant and fresh during the day. Food and drinks are delicious with a lot of great healthy but filling options with a modern twist.
Did a great job managing a large group.
The Madison is GORGEOUS and my new favorite place to take people to dine in the neighborhood! I love the speakeasy feel to it, and the staff is always welcoming and the food wonderful! :) It's a bit loud, but otherwise, no complaints! :)
We enjoyed a great evening celebrating some wins at work. Our server was great a patient with our table getting their order on. We enjoyed the Brie and Tuna tartar apps, a couple bottles of the OPP. Our mains were the Shish kabob, the pork chop the harvest salad and the seasonal special Chipino. Everything was excellent! We declined dessert.
This is the third time we’ve been here and came for the pork chop. Definitely not as good as before.
I went here for brunch with some girlfriends and had the best time! Tony was our server and he was so authentic and genuine. The food was delicious and the mango mint mimosas were delightfully refreshing.
Best French toast sticks to ever exist
The drinks are good, but food is very average, or below average when considering the cost/expectation. Avoid the shish kebob, utterly bland. Another perfect example of passion-less cooking in San Diego. High style points, but lacking any substance.
