It was our first night out to dinner since March 8. Everything was good and we were happy with our experience. Nothing, however, was extraordinary (except maybe the wine). Food was solid but not noteworthy. Same with service.
It was our 54th wedding anniversary and the tiny candy ‘Happy Anniversary’ sign attached to our dessert was just north of embarrassing.
Have been celebrating our anniversary here for 8 years - never disappointed. 5 Stars all-around. Thank you for being open during this difficult time.
I had the salmon tartine again as it is delicious and then the cobb salad, which was perfect on a warm evening. The views are spectacular and service impeccable!
Overpriced, but great ambiance. Limited menu due to Covid
The food was quite average. Didn’t feel like a Michelin Rated restaurant
They’ve done a lovely job of making the restaurant Covid-safe. The menu is a little smaller, so they can keep the kitchen safe. Their outdoor tables are lovely.
Awesome meal, awesome service & of course awesome company with my husband & BFF.
While the menu is limited at present, the salmon tartine and tuna with noodles were delicious.
The food was absolutely delicious. With Covid-19 luring, they managed to provide a comfortable and safe setting to enjoy our dinner. The staff and service was excellent.
Took for ever to order
Absolutely delicious lunch, great view and atmosphere on the deck for Father’s Day.
When I spoke to front desk to confirm reservations she had said we would be on a high top, which was fine with me. When we got there they put us way in back low table kinda of like coffee table.
I had to pick up my soup on my lap to eat.It was really hard to have out drinks and lunch.
We didn’t even feel the ambiance of being at a 5 star restaurant.
They had plenty of empty tables that they could of sat us comfortably.
After spending more then $300.00 I felt cheated.
The view, the service, the food, the safety. Amazing. Sure, you pay a premium, but that's why it's a premium experience.
The outdoor terrace is lovely, and the staff did everything possible to make us feel welcome and safe. Food was delicious, as usual.
I made a reservation within 2 hours of receiving a email notification of reopening to outside dining. For our 7 pm reservation, we were taken to a very low small round table with low seats next to a fireplace away from main dining area. This might be suitable for drinks before dinner but certainly not for dinner. Only alternative was a high top by the bar area. Nobody could explain to me why our reservation was handled in that way. I won't be coming back - plenty of excellent options in the area.
First time out during corona virus. We celebrated a dear friend’s Birthday.
Best food, ambiance, service in the Peninsula.
Brunch was delicious. Portion is wayyyy too small. I got duck confit and waffle for main course which tasted amazing but it’s only a quarter waffle! A QUARTER of a waffle!! I would be happy with at least half a waffle even if I rather have whole waffle lol. I got an appetizer before this and still hungry after :(
Not worth it. Sorry to say that the food was not great, you get 3 scallops for $40 and a cocktail is $25. I've eaten at many places and for $550.00 I expected more. The artichoke palate cleanser was hard to swallow. Just very disappointed. I think the only thing I enjoyed was the salad and the bread.
Since it was a Sunday night, and due to the current health circumstances it was not a popular time to dine, we had a fabulous and lovely dinner with a very cordial staff. The four of us decided to have the Chef’s Tasting Menu, and it was absolutely delicious from start to finish. We were so glad that we chose Madera to celebrate our anniversary with our good friends. We were not in a hurry, and either was the restaurant, so we were there for 3 relaxing hours.
Kevin, Michael, Christian and Nancy, and the SAs that work with them, were amazing as always.
Great services and great food, always. Kids friendly.
Food was very good & well prepared/tasty, but service was off with long delays between courses & non-responsiveness. Of note, had indicated on reservation & to waiter at the start of a diner’s food allergy - he was then served the food allergen right off the bat! Tried to get waiter’s attention, but to no avail. Evident that the wait/service staff appeared too busy throughout evening, they were also over-anxious to clear the table even though diner was still eating. Got an unusual response when I asked for cracked pepper on my salad. For a Michelin-star restaurant the whole experience was not what I was expecting.
Great place for a complete Birthday Dinner experience.
Wonderful, peaceful and serene venue especially when seated outside for a relaxing fulfilling meal and drinks.
Excellent service, food and ambience. Yes! We'll be back!
We came in on a busy Saturday night, was very busy and noisy. Came in to have an intimate dinner but practically had to yell at each other across the table to be heard. Took a long time to get our food, too.
Almost all the sauces were too salty for my taste, but food itself were cooked to perfection and dessert was excellent. Service was excellent too.
Fantastic ambiance and service (a little slow at times) but we were in no hurry. Personal touches for anniversary seating privacy, provided photo and desert where a big plus! Highly recommend for a very nice dining experience
This was out best dining experience in the Bay Area in many years. Outstanding service, food and wine. Everything was top-line from the minute we walked in to the minute we left.
For us -- and this is unusual -- the desserts were the absolute highpoint of the meal, even with two wines and multiple courses. So imaginative and beautifully presented. The pastry chefs at Madera are artists!
Such an amazing experience. The service is outstanding, the wine selections are never ending, and the food was beautifully and artistically crafted.
The chicken was not fresh and smelled so bad; the food quality in this place has been getting worse over time
Very disappointed in the food. It was very expensive and not fresh. Do not eat here. Don’t waste your time or your money. Sad!
The menu changes frequently, which we like. But sometimes you get there and the daily menu doesn't wow you. Still a great place to eat, food is good, and service is awesome.
If you want to be totally spoiled by great service and amazing food, this is the place to come. If you want a wine list with a book over 160 pages, this is the place to come. If you want to watch the sun set from the terrace, this is the place to come. This is the place my wife and I come when we want a memorable evening. You won't be disappointed! Bon Appetit!!!!
Every one was welcoming and friendly. Service was attentive. The food was scrumptious: excellent taste, texture and presentation. Very enjoyable.
We have gone to Madera several times! The food is excellent and the service is great! They do not rush you as you are paying a premium for good food! We especially like the yummy bread and their homemade soups. The ingredients are always fresh and you just can’t go wrong! Beautiful setting and a cozy place!
My wife and I had a wonderful day-before-Valentine's date at Madera and, as always, had a wonderful evening. The staff could not be more gracious and we really appreciated the attentiveness of the wine steward who made fantastic recommendations. We shared the scallop entree as an appetizer and the I enjoyed the pork chop and my wife had the duck breast. All 3 dishes were fantastic.
There's a reason this place has a michelin star. Amazing environment, amazing food, amazing staff.
I had such a fantastic experience here. Food, ambiance, and service are all phenomenal. Dress was mostly semi formal, noise wasn't too loud, and the uni and duck were just great. Fior di Latte for dessert which was the best way to end the night. Would highly recommend!
