I HAVE BEEN TO MADERA THREE TIMES NOW AND NEVER HAVE BEEN DISAPPOINTED. MY FRIENDS JUST LOVED IT AS DO I. WE DON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT PARKING;AND THE SERVICE IS EXCELLENT AS IS THE FOOD.

If the weather is nice you can sit outside and view the lovely foothills...surprisingly there is almost zero noise from 280...ambience is calm, beautiful, open and the food is delicious. We had the mushroom sugo, yum.

The food, service and ambiance are great. The wine list could use more reasonably priced options. Not everyone is okay with a $500 wine.

Pork loin was delicious and moist. Salmon was cooked to perfection. Pre-appetizer of tomato bisque was full of flavor and warm. Pear dessert was exquisite. Apple tartine had a nice presentation but lacked flavor. Wine selection was great and we chose a Napa red, which was delicious. Sparkling water and sourdough bread were as expected. Buttermilk bread was heavy. The butter presentation with olive oil in the center was a great idea.

I can't say enough about Madera! It scores full in all aspects. I booked a table for 2 and child (high chair) for my wife's birthday. We were seated in a great spot. Our server Katelyn was lovely! She was super patient with our daughter and took time to explain all the vegetarian options to us. She was extremely knowledgeable about every menu item as well! The food was outstanding! They had a complimentary dish that they brought out first. Then sourdough bread with butter was delicious. We ordered 1 appetizer and 2 entres and were quite full by the end of the meal. Finally, we found that there were no egg-less dessert options, but the 3-Michelin star dessert chef improvised and made a birthday dessert with a bed of berries topped with coconut ice cream and chocolate. The ambiance was also great! All in all, a great family experience! Would highly recommend anyone to go there!!

Pricey but worth it. Great Seasonal menu, cocktails were unique and tasted delicious. The ambience classy but relaxed. These servers were polite, friendly and took good care of us.

Overall, excellent food and attention to detail. The courses were very well prepared, although the wagyu beef was a bit too fatty for my taste. Also, the room is very open and noise travels pretty easy, so not the best place for a quiet dinner.

I had a late dinner with my daughter at Madera. We had a wonderful dinner. She is vegan and our waitress helped her find very tasty options. Cocktails were full-bodied and memorable. Kudos to Madera!

The food and ambiance was what you would expect at a Michelin Star restaurant. The dishes were imaginative and tasty and the service was very good. My only complaint was that service was a bit slow, I appreciate not being rushed but it seemed like it took a very long time for our entrees to come out after our starters. It just felt like the pace of the meal was slower than just being leisurely. Overall our dinner for 6 people took well over 3 hours, with starters and dessert. We ordered about 2 cocktails each, but no wine.

Food was good, it was nice to have special treats on the birthday. Service wasn't up to par. It took the server a long time to take our order, he didn't check on us during the meal. It took the bus boy a long time to take my dish away to pack it to go. The worst is that no one ever answer the phone at the restaurant. I had to always call the hotel so that they could connect me to the restaurant

My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful meal with terrific service for our recent anniversary dinner. We noted it our anniversary when making our Open Table reservation. The staff was very accommodating and attentive but not stifling. Our menu included a Happy Anniversary message and our waiter started us off with complimentary sparkling wine and we ended with a small slice of complimentary anniversary cake. My wife was very pleased with her wild salmon entree and I enjoyed the pork loin, both very well prepared and presented. A higher end restaurant but prices not excessive by Bay Area standards. Even the valet service at the hotel entry was very welcoming and efficient. Certainly would recommend.

We are frequent Madera customers. Last Sunday evening was a disappointment, not sure if chef is different or it was just an off night. Table was excellent on the deck, but although waiter was professional, he was not friendly and it seemed he was just mumbling off phrases he memorized. I had the Sunchoke Veloute, Kampachi and Duck. Nothing stood out as memorable and the soup was served too cool. My boyfriend said the Heirloom Tomato salad was also just okay. Not so sure we will go back often anymore.

From start to finish our dinner was outstanding. Wines were incredible and although you could spend a ton of money on some of the vintages, we had a Sancerre that was delicious and reasonable. Rachel the Somm is spot on, ask her as she really knows her wines.
We can't wait to go back, if I lived closer I would frequent this place as often as possible.

My eggs Benedict arrived tepid and we had to chase the overly familiar waiter down to pay the check. At this level of hotel and this price point, the service and food should be far better than they are. Great view, but otherwise not recommended.

My first visit, will return. Shared two appetizers with my date, the first, grilled foie gras, had lots of flavors and nuances. The second, the angelloti, was a new take on a pasta dish, delectable. Then we shared the halibut, soft and tender white meat. Delicious. The pairings were Sangiovese and Malbec for the appetizers and a NZ daub blanc for the halibut. Perfect. Finished the dinner with a double expresso, aromatic and tasty.
I will return.

Nice view good food ok drinks
I would recommend this restaurant to others but my only comment would be to order off the extensive wine list. The cocktails were just ok. That was a little disappointing, but the food was nicely prepared and presented.

Flawless service for a special occasion, if like me you are stressed about things going wrong on a special occasion, look no more. Staff at Madera went above and beyond just because I mentioned it was our anniversary and requested a table by the window. Food is great and view is nice (if going before sunset), but for us what really made a difference was the service, prompt but not pushy, multiple courtesies and attention to detail.

Madera has a great setting and it's nice if you can take advantage of the outdoor eating area. It would be even better if they were able to get air to circulate on hot days so the outside was more doable. The food has always been good, but I don't find it outstanding. Our servers have always been friendly and professional. To be honest, it is just too expensive for future visits. This last lunch between 3 women-3 salads, 1 glass of wine, 1 Bellini, 2 desserts shared and 3 iced coffee drinks came to $180. That's just ridiculous. My salad though good, came on a plate that they filled half with the salad and the other half was literally empty-odd presentation esp. when it cost so much. W probably won't dine here again in the future as it just seems to get more expensive and the food doesn't wow me.
