Every one was welcoming and friendly. Service was attentive. The food was scrumptious: excellent taste, texture and presentation. Very enjoyable.
My wife and I had a wonderful day-before-Valentine's date at Madera and, as always, had a wonderful evening. The staff could not be more gracious and we really appreciated the attentiveness of the wine steward who made fantastic recommendations. We shared the scallop entree as an appetizer and the I enjoyed the pork chop and my wife had the duck breast. All 3 dishes were fantastic.
There's a reason this place has a michelin star. Amazing environment, amazing food, amazing staff.
I had such a fantastic experience here. Food, ambiance, and service are all phenomenal. Dress was mostly semi formal, noise wasn't too loud, and the uni and duck were just great. Fior di Latte for dessert which was the best way to end the night. Would highly recommend!
The protein is done fabulously in general. There is a bit too much smoke on it though. Not everything should have a smoke to it. The sides to the protein are not mixed or chosen well. Weird is the best description I can give. For the pricing I would have expected a 4 or5 star meal. It was not that, unfortunately. We are a bit picky living in Napa, so consider the source there, but I honestly expected more. The restaurant is also very loud. The acoustics are not good. So if you are trying to have a conversation, it is a bit of a challenge.
We have had the opportunity to have dinner here a few times. EVERYTIME has been a wonderful experience. The Duck, Filet, soup and salad were perfect. Th e octopus was incredible. I am impressed with all service personnel from walking in to walking out. Our server had every answer to our inquiries. I would highly recommend this restaurant to everyone looking for a dinner experience above your highest expectations.
As a supportive comment, the food could be better especially as Michelin One Star.
Great place for a meeting but be sure to reserve. Views are lively and food is delicious.
Terrible service and way loud.
It felt like it was over priced for what it was.
Madera made my girlfriend and I feel very special, more than anybody else has. On our anniversary, they brought us champaign, gave us a table with a great view, made a special passion fruit with coconut cake just for our occasion, and took pictures of us with their instant cameras. They also gave us an envelope with goodies and the menu (the envelope had a heart and an arrow, so it was very fitting!).
On top of that, the quality of the food was fantastic! The uni, risotto, and duck were fantastic. The pork chops were the best pork chops I have had in a very long time - soft, lean, seasoning on point, and melted in our mouths. Just superb.
All of these things, combined with the beautiful scenery, make it one of my favorite places in the Peninsula and in the Bay Area.
Wonderful service, food and experience. Great place to celebrate my birthday
Outstanding wait staff -- makes the experience at Madera!
We ordered the tasting menu because everyone on the table had to order same if one orders. Dishes were fine but nothing popped for both of us. Rib was rather dry. Cabernet Sauvignon that’s was chosen and recommended by the sommelier was excellent! I don’t mind paying the high price but I expect food to match the wine at $155 a bottle. Next time maybe a la carte.
Madera recently added the Cobb Salad back on to their Saturday brunch menu. Hurray!!! I have missed it and I go to this lovely restaurant every other month. Thank you Madera for bringing it back on Saturday 👏👏👏
It was absolutely amazing! Great experience.
I'm sure the fine dining during dinner is excellent, but breakfast falls short for what you pay. I understand you're eating at hotel prices—a luxury hotel at that—but for what I paid the food experience really needs to rise above a simply well-executed plate that any good kitchen can crank out.
The omelet was good (fresh ingredients and the eggs were cooked properly). The fruit on the side was fine, nothing better than a fruit cup you could buy at Trader Joe's. Rye toast was toasted properly (good bread, and the spreads provided were pleasing). The Americano I had to drink—again—it was fine: good espresso properly served. The service was very good and what you would expect at a fine dining restaurant in a luxe hotel.
That said, for an omelet with fruit and an Americano, it's really not worth the $55+ price after tax and tip. I'm happy to pay a premium for a wonderful breakfast plate (try the salmon tartine at Aha Fresh in Noe Valley or anything on the menu at Plow in Potrero). The breakfast I had at Madera was just not worth the price. Would have had the same food experience at a well-rated diner or breakfast spot in downtown Palo Alto or just grabbing something at Whole Foods.
It was a great dining experience. We enjoyed our food and drinks in a very nice setting. It is pricey but this is one of a kind in the Silicon Valley.
Excellent service, enjoyed every bite of the meal!
I love this restaurant. Had date night with my daughter after spa services at Sense. Our waitress was incredible. We had my daughters Bat Mitzvah here as well (in the ballrooms) and it was absolutely fantastic!!
She loved it!!!!
Superb service and presentation !
Nice place and good service. However fixed menu on new year eve had bad choices and was overpriced , not to mention that too long interval between dishes.
We have been in many fine dining new year fixed menus, this year experience cannot live up to expectation compared to others.
Limited vegetarian selection. Fair flavors
The food was bland, the service was alright, good ambiance, but wouldn’t eat here again unless staying at the hotel.
Beautifully decorated for Christmas, food selections are various and high quality. Some really compelling wines available by the glass. Everything is calm and attentive. Presentation and flavor of food is top notch.
It was wonderful as always however the busters need to be a lot more attentive to the dining experience
The service was excellent as always!! Presentation was excellent. I have celiac disease and they take great care of me. The food was good but not their usual superb. It was Christmas night and they did a family style semi traditional prix fixe menu to handle the volume of people. The ambiance was charming. Festive but not over the top. My guests were enchanted. It was a special treat for me and a huge treat for them. So that was fun. I was very grateful for somewhere to go on Christmas where I could safely eat (without gluten cross contamination) and it would be special. Once again Madera did a great job!! My Mom and I are going for New Years eve too!!
Great service and food! It was our anniversary, and the experience was delightful. The fireplace was roaring and the outdoor scenery was picturesque.
Superb as always. The staff, ambiance, and food was perfect. I would dine here weekly if I lived on the peninsula. The Somms are excellent and very knowledgeable on their extensive wine catalog.
Very good food, and excellent service. But very, very pricey - corkage at $75 is really a rip off. We had a very good aged, red wine, and it was galling to have to pay it!
All was good the new corkage fee of $75.00 is outrageous!
Steak was raw! Sent it back and it came back 49 minutes later so tough one could not eat it! They did not charge for it, but my guest left hungry !
Went for lunch with our 84 year old dad. It’s incredibly loud and honestly, way too hard to talk or hear. The food is good, the room is pretty.
Noise level was very difficult to have a nice conversation with others at the table.
I feel Madera is very expensive --the food is good --the wine list amazing --its the kind of place to go when the weather is great and you can be outside. The service is terrific -the food very good --it just is very expensive and does have a "hotel" feel.
Best on a company expense account!
We really enjoyed our time at Madera. Very pleasant overall experience!
Madera is first rate in every regard. It is a beautiful room (and terrace, in the right weather). The staff are first rate -- high quality service with a personal touch. Can't say enough about the quality of the food and preparation. Is it my imagination, or is it just getting way better? In any case, we are returning more frequently.
Our annual Ladies Luncheon. It was perfect!
Very nice dinner and fantastic service
