Madera Kitchen Ratings and Reviews
Unfortunately, the restaurant was not open the night of our reservation. There was even a wine vendor there trying to deliver cases of wine, but he left too. I checked next-door, which is a sister restaurant, per their website, and they thought it was only going to be open for a private dinner that evening. We had to scramble to find another restaurant before going to Hamilton at the Pantages.
We had the best experience at this restaurant. Searched for a casual spot before seeing Hamilton, and this was a short 10 minute walk away from the theater. Highly recommend this restaurant, staff was very friendly and food was great. Really gorgeous place inside and out on the patio. Will definitely be our go to pre theater from now on.
5:30-7:30 happy hour is a great value - $5 wines, $7 selected cocktails and $5 & $7 food selection. We had the spicy fried chicken breast and the wild mushroom/humbolt fog and sautéed onion/cheese flatbreads. For quiet conversation sit out on the large enclosed patio. Use their $10 valet parking and then walk to the Hollywood Bowl, Ford Theatre, or Pantages Theatre. Service is warm and friendly if not the most polished and knowledgeable.
Great neighborhood ambiance but the food wasn't great. I had one of the most expensive items- veal Marsala- and it was tough and grizzly. My sons steak had to be sent back as he ordered it med rare and it came well done. The flavors were good but not a great meal I would stick with flatbread and pasta
I loved the ambience of this place! It definitely enhanced our dining experience. The food was delicious. We caught the tail end of happy hour and the fried chicken on the happy hour menu was super tasty. We also ordered the ribeye, ceviche and oxtail flatbread. The ribeye was very tender and had some kind of chimchurri type of sauce on it, which totally made the dish. The potatoes that came with the ribeye was crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. I would definitely order that dish again.
