MAD Social is on of the best restaurants I ate ate in chicago. My boyfriend and I chose this place for our Valentines dinner. The food was spectacular! We ordered the Tuscan Ravioli and the Mad house burger. The pasta was flavorful, savory and cooked to perfection and the burger melts in your mouth. Our server was attentive and genuinely concerned with our experience. She was kind and courteous and ready to lend a hand in anyway possible. She was extra cautious with my severe onion allergy which was greatly appreciated. I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone looking for a delicious meal in a unique environment. A fantastic date night , girls night out or "take your in-laws out" location.
What a great experience! First time here! The bartender, Mike was awesome! Very friendly. The girls at the front and our waitress were so nice! The staff here is definitely an A+. The food was amazing. We finished every bite! Very unique and fun brunch place. Highly recommend it!
Ate at Mad Social with my 17 year old daughter before a Bulls game. We were given our choice of tables and booths by a hostess that was very attentive. We were also encouraged to order a cheese or charcuterie app. because the half priced Monday night offer was expiring 15 minutes after we arrived. The apps. were great, as were our dinners (chicken skewers and mac/cheese). Also a good craft beer menu. We will definitely return.
I really liked the mix of flavors in the octopus dish, a salad-like entree. The crab cakes were only average, they should have used a better quality crabmeat. This restaurant was very loud, and the heavy drumbeat in the music reminded me of one or two gay bars in town. We'll keep looking for a quieter venue.
Great food, impeccable service. Fun and lively crowd. This is a fun place. Great for a date or to get together with friends. They offer a full bar with tasty drink specials. The menu offers a variety of sizable portions, great for sharing and sampling. I can’t wait to go back.
Good food and great drinks but basically no vegetarian options
Came in for brunch. Waiter Taylor was great. Food was excellent. Coffee was great. Didn’t like the $10 cinnamon buns tho! Undercooked.
Horrible horrible place . Rude staff and over priced food .
Excellent food and lively atmosphere. Sunday brunch recommended.
The food was very good, but the menu is unorganized. They want to be a small plate restaurant but they don’t distinguish between the full meals and the small plates. For instance a tiny portion of ceviche and a giant burger and fries plate. But that’s not a deal breaker- rude and just plain bad service is. Some of the issues: Long wait to give our food order, asked for a glass for my beer that never came (why do I have to ask in the first place), filling 2 of 4 water glasses, long wait for a second drink- all inexcusable. Won’t be back because of the service
Convenient to United Center.
Bottles of wine are expensive but only moderate in quality. Watch out!
Overall liked it and went before a game so once they knew we needed to be quick the food came out freaky fast. Food was good but overpriced. Guess that is what you get for the area.
Cool looking place. A little loud but not too loud. Could use comfier chairs but I’m old. Service good.
Food was so good! I went for a brunch and it was the perfect place.
The service was fantastic. A wonderful server with good knowledge of the menu, the establishment and the area. Katie kept us informed and entertained, but at the same time we were taken care of and without being over served.
The food was good, but there were a few misses with the short rib Benedict and the huevos rancheros. Taste was there but food temps were off and descriptors were lacking.
That said, I will be back. Overall it’s a great hangout and no one can complain about bottomless mimosas on the weekend!
All the food is shareable and each item we ordered was very good. Servers were attentive and drinks were delicious. Only thing to note is that booths are relatively small for larger groups (5+ people). Ask for a table if you have a larger group.
Just a tad on the pricy side decent food but not outstanding (especially for the price)
Had a great time at MAD. Service was friendly, attentive and quick. Will definitely be back the next time we are in the city.
MAD Social is where I schedule all my "after work" drinks with friends and networking meetings. It is a great spot for casual conversation and the service is tremendous.
Waitress was great she super attentive
Best churros waffles everrrrrrr
Loved the atmosphere, was very calm for a Sunday afternoon and the service was excellent!
The female server was awful! She never came by, her favorite word was NO and would ask us a question and answer it as she walked off.
Pretty bad service!
New Years’ Eve with our adult children. Great food, service & ambience. Lively!
Great food, service and atmosphere. I've had brunch twice and both times have been DELISH!
The food was delicious and the place was beautiful!
Great food and service!
Very good family style dining. 1000% recommend her
Great for happy hour and grabbing some drinks/small bites with friends. Ambiance is cozy without being too small. I really enjoyed it! Bao buns and brussel sprouts are a MUST!
Food was fantastic. Service was quick and attentive!
Reservation was smooth. Server was great and was attentive. Food came out fast as we had the kale salad and the chicken and churro waffle. It was delicious and would definitely go back.
Had brunch on a Saturday with a friend and loved it!
Great comfortable place and not too loud.
We split the french toast and breakfast sandwich and it was mighty tasty.
Would definitely recommend.
I did not eat this item... but I need to comment that ANY burger being sold for $21 is crazy to me. Now to be fair, I understand it's great. Just saying Mad social miiiight want to consider checking themselves ;).
let me start by saying the bloody Mary was absolutely one of the better ones that I've had. Perfect amount of spiciness and while I unfortunately missed it I understand there's a bottomless bloody Mary bar that ends at 2 PM on Sunday and I think would be well worth it. The atmosphere is open and fun. The place is clean and it's good for a conversation. The server uniforms struck me as interesting. Jean jackets with a purse strewn across. It was interesting... I felt like my waitress was going to leave in the next five minutes. LOL
I had the breakfast sandwich and I think my friend liked a little bit better than me. I thought it was thoroughly mediocre and I will not order it again. Now the chicken and waffles on the other hand... That was pretty good. I think the secret to this place though is there a homemade hot sauce. You put that on the chicken and waffles and it's fantastic. In fact, it's much better than putting syrup on the chicken and waffles. Otherwise the fries were run-of-the-mill and I felt like it was a little bit pricey. But I go again... Probably. I would avoid it... I've been to better though.
I was very disappointed in the food. I've been wanting to try this place for a long time and never would have expected the food to be so bad. The burger was dry and lacked any kind of seasoning or flavor. The truffle fries were extremely oily and disappointing. The only good thing about the experience was the cocktails. The service was very basic. The waitress wasn't very friendly at least not with our table. Won't be going back.
Great food but the seats in the dinning room by the windows were freezing due to the lack of a real wall.
My oh my. This was such a pleasant dining experience with AMAZING food!
My wife and I wanted to taste so many different items on the menu but we knew we couldn't possibly eat more than three dishes (which was already pushing beyond our limits). We went with the havarti mac & cheese, short rib benedict, and chicken & waffles. I think each of these dishes deserves its own review.
Havarti mac & cheese: This was one of the best mac & cheese I've had. Not only was it flavorful, but what made it distinguish itself from other mac & cheese was the crispy brussels sprouts sprinkled on top. The butter crumb crust also added some extra texture to it.
Short rib benedict: I thought this one was decent, but not superb; however, my wife loved it. According to her, the brussels sprouts "kimchi" (I consider it more like a cole slaw) made it interesting an wanting to go after another bite. The menu description says braised Korean style short ribs, but I honestly couldn't taste much of a Korean flavor from the ribs. Taking my nitpicky comments as a grain of salt, the food was good overall.
Chicken & waffles: I don't think there's much that needs to be said here -- how can you go wrong with chicken & waffles? Chicken breast was cooked to perfection, and the churro waffle added an extra flavor. The chef recommended that it be paired with the restaurant's special hot sauce, but I thought it was also delicious enough without it.
Went for brunch recently. Typical American brunch fare. Everything was clean. Just very decent food not spectacular. Drinks were okay too.
My friend had the pancakes and I had the burger. Burger was pretty good but have to say the meat was a little dry even though I ordered it medium rare (but came very medium, almost medium well). Pancakes were a bit gummy.
I was a group of female family members for Sunday Brunch and we found the food to be delicious and creative. We were welcomed when we came through the door and that energy continued with our server who was attentive and friendly. We had a lovely time and highly recommend MAD Social for anyone that likes good fun, good food, and good service.
We've been to Mad Social a few times for dinner and the food never disappoints. This time around we brought the whole family for brunch and we had two thumbs up from everyone! The food and cocktails are delish. The burger was outstanding! Everything was outstanding! Love MAD Social!
The chicken in the chicken and waffles was bland. Like no flavor at all.
There was corn in the Havarti mac & cheese ... total turn off.
The waitress was nice but the food needs a remake or to be more classic. I was really disappointed.
Not happy. We had 5 in our party and we ordered 8 dishes. We sat down at 6:30 we ordered all 8 sharing dishes at around 6:40. By 6:45 they served the first dish and it seemed like every three minutes another one was coming out. We felt like we had to shove the food down so we could clear a spot for the next dish to come. It got so ridiculous that at one point we had to asked them to hold the last two dishes because there was no room on our table for any more to be served. Our server should have staggered our order so we could at least enjoy what we were eating. We were paying the bill be 7:15. They served so fast that we all felt sick from pounding down our food to make room at the table. Sorry we will not be back.
