This is my favourite Greek restaurant to eat at in Richmond. All of the dishes I have had their are delicious, and I can't get enough of their ekmek!

This was likely our last time at this Richmond "institution".
Sad to see it go.

Booked Mad Greek at last minute. Was able to accommodate party of 9 people easily. Waitress was very attentive - actually there were two people who served us.. One order had issue and came much later than the rest of our orders. Waitress apologized and brought a pop on the house for the person. Everyone enjoyed the food, especially the roast lamb. Will be back next time we need a large place to have lunch

We did love the food and the Server was very friendly. The only issue we had was the table we were given. We were placed in a small table at the back of the room next to two extra large tables filled with people. I did expect that with a reservation and it being Valentine's Day that we would have been placed differently.

We went to the Mad Greek New Year's Eve at 7 pm and were surprised that there was lots of seating available. We had reservations, but they probably weren't needed. The server was friendly and accommodating. 3 of us ordered the roast lamb. It was quite lean but very bland. We were surprised that the Greek salad was not included with the meal but could be substituted for the veggies. We all chose to do that, however we would have preferred both. 1 guest had the calamari dinner. The calamari was very doughy and tasteless. We ordered ekmek for dessert for the 4 of us to share and it was delicious. We also shared a bottle of Boutari which the waitress told us was the 2nd to last bottle so if we wanted more we should order it. We didn't want to order it at that time so she graciously said she would put it aside in case we changed our minds. We needed to leave the restaurant by 8:30 and we were done in time, although we had to wait for our bill. It was an okay dinner, but nothing to rave about.

The food was basic, simple and tasty. For a Saturday evening it was very quiet. I have to admit, there is never enough tzatsiki. We were celebrating an anniversary and were surprised that there was no belly dancer as indicated on the website.

The restaurant was clean with a very nice atmosphere. The waitress was both attentive and knowledgeable and I thought the prices were very competitive, particularly the wine list. We had two appetizers, including the garlic shrimp. When it arrived, it was warm but not hot. I have had the same appetizer in other Greek restaurants and it usually arrives very hot, if not sizzling. The only reservation time we could get was 7:45 so I expected the restaurant to be very busy. I was surprised that when we arrived it was only about 65% full which is unusual for a good restaurant on Saturday night. Soon after our meal arrived staff began cleaning up for the day and while the waitress did check in from time to time, we felt we were being rushed. I doubt that more than a half-dozen customers came in after we did and when we left not long after 9, there were only two tables still occupied. Our overall experience was okay, but not great. Thanks for the opportunity to comment. I hate to see restaurants with potential and with good people working at them fail.

The place had very high ceiling. It felt nice and spacious. I had the Roast Lamb. It was very tender and it came with rice, veggies and potatoe. Good portion size. I did eat it all! I'd have love it even more if Greek Salad would have came with it. That's what I'm used to. But in this case, it was either the greek salad or vegetables. Our server lady was very friendly and she gave very good service. We'll probably go back again another time.

Mad Greek Restaurant is an excellent authentic Greek food restaurant located on Westminster Hwy near Alderbridge Way. When we arrived, we noticed that parking was definitely a premium. There are some other parking spaces designated for other businesses which may have been closed at night, but we did not want to take a chance. Fortunately, someone left within minutes.

Once inside, we mentioned to the hostess that we have reservation, but they could not find my reservation booked through Open Tables. They seated us anyway as the restaurant was only half full. Would have been a problem if the place was full.

The place is very noisy and the atmosphere was energetic. Good for young kids who make a lot of noise.

Food was excellent and the waitress took good care of us. The Kalamari was really good and the Salmon souvlaki was tasty eventhough I don't like fish.

Definitely will return and recommend.

my favourite place for greek food. their tzatsiki is to die for and i love their chicken souvlaki platters served with rice pilaf, potato, and greek salad. If you like calamari, you will LOVE it from here! the calamari dinner comes with a very generous serving of calamari with rice and greek salad and of course tzatsiki. They have some nice wine offerings as well as beer and other beverages. Good spot for a cozy meal with a friend or two or they also can accommodate large parties.

We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at the Mad Greek. Two of us ordered the Chicken Souvlaki and a third ordered the Salmon Souvlaki. I was lucky enough to taste both and they were great! The Salmon was particularly good in that the fish was moist and tender on the skewer. Fish can be difficult to get just right and they did a wonderful job!

Mad Greek is always a dependable late night place you can count on for good Greek food. The Saganaki at @12 for a tiny piece is a little pricey...or maybe I just want WAY more haha... The entrees are pretty huge and always delicious. My friend had the calamari and said it was delicious, I had the chicken souvlaki with hummus instead of Tzatziki, ceasar salad instead of greek salad, and rice pilaf, plus a greek potato! It was more of a platter than a plate and I could only really eat half it was so big! My other friend had the rack of lamb and said it was delicious. The Service is always friendly and wonderful. I will definitely be returning. Love that they have late night.

We visited the Mad Greek with neighbours because we had found another Greek restaurant too loud. Saturday was a very busy day as there was an international dance competition in town. Our helpings were generous and tasty but we had to adjourn to a coffee shop to continue our conversation.

This hidden gem is tucked away off busy Westminster Hwy. From the outside it doesn't look like much but then inside the restaurant is huge and filled with Greek ambiance. This open room with vaulted ceiling creates spaciousness, perfect for large parties. The food was good but the signature dishes displayed in Dine-Out-Vancouver left more to be desired. The traditional 'slab' of feta on the salad listed on the menu ended up being a very disappointing tiny dollop. The spinach & feta pie had an overwhelming amount of spinach with no sign of feta. Customer service was lacking. The candle was an LED light. The loud group tables and hockey game were distracting from our romantic dinner. This restaurant needs improving but has potential!

We ordered the Niko Platter for two,
it was kind of big for two, we couldn't finish it.

I tried other greek food before, the chicken always overcooked,
but here is just so tender n juicy.

would love to visit again soon to try other items on the menu.

The servers were very busy. It was not their fault but it took too long for water, etc. The noise from a large group at the other end of the room was no less than shouting. The taste of the food was not as good as the last time. I will opt out of honing back.

The portion of the food has shrunk. There was no Greek salad and just a half of potato on each plate of entree. There was no refill of pita bread. We were a little bit disappointed. the restaurant may charge a lot more for a standard Canadian portion.

Food is overpriced for what you get. I used to go to this place even when they were in their original, smaller location. Lamp chops including a side greek salad was $16 back then. Now its $23 for the lamp chops and you will have to pay an extra $2 more for a side of greek salad.
I noticed that the lamp chops were smaller as well.
I looked at the other items in the menu and there were at least 25% more than other comparable greek restaurants.
I think i've had my last visit to this place.

Food is over-priced. Very expensive for what you get.
Too bad because i really used to like eating here.
An order of lamp chops used to be $16 (which includes a small side of greek salad) before they moved to their current location on Westminster Highway.
Now, the lamp chop is $23 and you have to pay an extra $2 for a side greek salad (totalling $25). The lamb chop seems to be smaller too and not as tasty as before.
Unlikely coming back.
