Fine dining prices food only ok. New England calm chowder was the worst I ever had, thin, no veggies, hard clams... Should have sent it back.
Maybe breakfast would be ok???
The vegetable ravioli was outstanding as were the pair of filet Mignon. Bloody Mary’s had just the right amount of spice!
anniversary stay at carroll villa. mad batter was very good happy hour and meal.
The restaurant really surprised my wife and I who went their for mothers day. The reviews we read were really positive, but you really have to experience the restaurant itself. The food, which had great vegan and seafood options, was amazingly and creatively served. Would recommend you take the time to visit!
It was okay. Flavors fall flat and oddly, seafood is not as fresh as you would expect. I miss the ‘old days’ (20 years ago) when the food was outstanding. Maybe one day it can return to that.
Amazing weather and the atmosphere on the porch is amazing. Loved seeing a bride and groom taking their wedding day pics on the street.
We were seated at 5pm . My wife ordered an item from the menu and 10 minutes later the server told us they didn’t have what she ordered .
Birthday dinner was really nice. Sat out on the enclosed porch (live music inside would have been a bit loud for conversation). Food was very good and so was service. Would definitely return!
I have been there several times before. This time it was dirty. Cold and the wait staff seemed unsupervised. Really disappointing
We thoroughly enjoyed dining on the front porch. Our meals were perfect and the staff was friendly and attentive. We will go back with friends and family.
Needed a kid friendly atmosphere but wanted a nice vibe and drinks to celebrate my birthday as well. Mad Batter fit the bill. Food was great, drinks were strong and tasty, lots of vegetarian options for me and my husband had the seafood risotto that he said was outstanding. I splurged for dessert since it was my bday and the waitress brought out my dessert with a candle in it so that my daughter could sing happy birthday and help me blow out my candle. She was so happy. There was a band in the bar area that we could hear and that was a nice bonus. Good music without being so loud that we couldn’t talk.
Nice atmosphere, friendly staff and good food. Only half a block from the beach.
Love the Mad Batter Restaurant. The food is delicious and reasonably prices. We have had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant for breakfast, lunch, and also dinner. All good eats. In all of our other dining experiences here our servers have been wonderful. This last time we had the worst server ever. Even though our most recent experience wasn't the best, we will definitely will be going back for more great food.
Great food. Ambience a little lacking, but overall a fine choice.
Great food, good service and live music. Excellent all around.
Food was good we were in the back room. Very very loud. They were having up and coming singing event. Could not hear ourselves think.
Excellent gluten free menu and tasteful food. Beautiful atmosphere
Great birthday dinner at Mad Batter. Live music while we were there. Waitress very attentive and friendly and best food we had on our trip to Cape May. Especially loved the Thai style wings, the fries, and the crab cake!
We began with a nice Italian Pinot Grigio and warm flatbread. We split a fresh garden salad, perfectly dressed. Our filet mignon and crab cake entree was complemented by macaroni and cheese and asparagus.
Food is always great. Love the ambience and the service! Workers are courteous and very friendly.
Everyone is friendly and the food is outstanding. We sat in the back room and it was bright and even though you can hear the music it was not over powering. It was my first time going for Dinner, usually we go for breakfast and we were not disappointed at all.
Went to The Mad Batter for a birthday dinner. It's so appealing from the outside, and in better weather, you can sit outside.
The food was good, but not fabulous. We did enjoy our meal, and the wait staff was exceptional. Food came quickly even though it was getting a bit crowded ( 5:30 p.m.)
The atmosphere was fun and busy with conversation.
I'd like to try it for breakfast, or lunch.
Thoroughly enjoyed having my birthday dinner here!
Dinner was delicious! Beet and goat cheese salad was amazing. Filet super tender and delicious. Can’t wait to go back!
Great Gluten free menu
Service and ambience were excellent. Scallop dinner was served with sweet potato puree and asparagus and was cooked to perfection. Looking forward to next visit to spend time at the bar. Looked like fun.
As always, food and service were outstanding as was live music. Mad Batter is one of our top choices in season and out.
They have several very good VEGAN options and staff is knowledgeable
The meal was excellent and capped off a relaxing visit.
We had a reservation for a family Easter dinner. They seated us in the bar area on high top stools. About 30 minutes in, there was live music that was so loud we couldn’t hear each other speak. So we had to leave. Very disappointed. I would not mind sitting in the bar area if I didn’t have a reservation and showed up on a holiday and that was all that was available. But that wasn’t the case. No complaints on the food or service, but it will be a long time before we go here again.
Great dinner and good time!
Steaks were a little over cooked but other than that everything was great!
We had a wonderful time at the Mad Batter this week celebrating a birthday.
The staff was attentive and extremely pleasant. The drinks were fantastic. The food was delicious, the Branzino was a special and the best I have ever had. The scampi was also outstanding. Desserts were scrumptious too. We typically go to the Mad Batter for breakfast but we plan to go back again for dinner in the future.
Mad Batter accepts reservations on Open Table, which is very helpful in a resort town. The food is great and we always enjoy ourselves whenever we eat there.
Got sick ordering from gluten free menu. They warned me about grill and fryer, ordered pasta. Never been so sick in my life. It was beyond cross contamination. Very noisy. Waitress spoke and understood English very poorly. Service was slow.
The Lamb meal was a disappointment and we returned for another item.
Also should have access to happy hour when seated.
Very nice experience. We would definitely return.
Sat in the cozy heated porch for a fabulous dinner on a chilly March evening. Seafood bisque was delicious, as were our entes. The filet was cooked perfectly. Enjoyed the food and ambience so much that we returned the next morning for breakfast. Again the food was great.
Down the Cape for a couple of days, locals told us about the Mad Batter, so we tried it out. Fun place, great food, and great drinks. Staff is very friendly. Locals know, so should you! Try it, you will not be disappointed.
DO NOT sit in front porch in the winter! The heat is at floor level and your feet and legs get so hot that it is actually painful. Everyone around us was complaining. We did not stay for coffee and dessert because we just wanted to leave. Food and service was fantastic just not the heating situation!
My wife and I ate here a few days ago. Both had the filet with a crab cake and they were really quite good but their 4 cheese mac & cheese side put this meal over the top. Live music in the bar was a nice touch. Will be going back again to try something else soon.
