We began with a nice Italian Pinot Grigio and warm flatbread. We split a fresh garden salad, perfectly dressed. Our filet mignon and crab cake entree was complemented by macaroni and cheese and asparagus.
Food is always great. Love the ambience and the service! Workers are courteous and very friendly.
Everyone is friendly and the food is outstanding. We sat in the back room and it was bright and even though you can hear the music it was not over powering. It was my first time going for Dinner, usually we go for breakfast and we were not disappointed at all.
Went to The Mad Batter for a birthday dinner. It's so appealing from the outside, and in better weather, you can sit outside.
The food was good, but not fabulous. We did enjoy our meal, and the wait staff was exceptional. Food came quickly even though it was getting a bit crowded ( 5:30 p.m.)
The atmosphere was fun and busy with conversation.
I'd like to try it for breakfast, or lunch.
Thoroughly enjoyed having my birthday dinner here!
Dinner was delicious! Beet and goat cheese salad was amazing. Filet super tender and delicious. Can’t wait to go back!
Great Gluten free menu
Service and ambience were excellent. Scallop dinner was served with sweet potato puree and asparagus and was cooked to perfection. Looking forward to next visit to spend time at the bar. Looked like fun.
As always, food and service were outstanding as was live music. Mad Batter is one of our top choices in season and out.
They have several very good VEGAN options and staff is knowledgeable
The meal was excellent and capped off a relaxing visit.
We had a reservation for a family Easter dinner. They seated us in the bar area on high top stools. About 30 minutes in, there was live music that was so loud we couldn’t hear each other speak. So we had to leave. Very disappointed. I would not mind sitting in the bar area if I didn’t have a reservation and showed up on a holiday and that was all that was available. But that wasn’t the case. No complaints on the food or service, but it will be a long time before we go here again.
Great dinner and good time!
Steaks were a little over cooked but other than that everything was great!
We had a wonderful time at the Mad Batter this week celebrating a birthday.
The staff was attentive and extremely pleasant. The drinks were fantastic. The food was delicious, the Branzino was a special and the best I have ever had. The scampi was also outstanding. Desserts were scrumptious too. We typically go to the Mad Batter for breakfast but we plan to go back again for dinner in the future.
Mad Batter accepts reservations on Open Table, which is very helpful in a resort town. The food is great and we always enjoy ourselves whenever we eat there.
Got sick ordering from gluten free menu. They warned me about grill and fryer, ordered pasta. Never been so sick in my life. It was beyond cross contamination. Very noisy. Waitress spoke and understood English very poorly. Service was slow.
The Lamb meal was a disappointment and we returned for another item.
Also should have access to happy hour when seated.
Very nice experience. We would definitely return.
Sat in the cozy heated porch for a fabulous dinner on a chilly March evening. Seafood bisque was delicious, as were our entes. The filet was cooked perfectly. Enjoyed the food and ambience so much that we returned the next morning for breakfast. Again the food was great.
Down the Cape for a couple of days, locals told us about the Mad Batter, so we tried it out. Fun place, great food, and great drinks. Staff is very friendly. Locals know, so should you! Try it, you will not be disappointed.
DO NOT sit in front porch in the winter! The heat is at floor level and your feet and legs get so hot that it is actually painful. Everyone around us was complaining. We did not stay for coffee and dessert because we just wanted to leave. Food and service was fantastic just not the heating situation!
My wife and I ate here a few days ago. Both had the filet with a crab cake and they were really quite good but their 4 cheese mac & cheese side put this meal over the top. Live music in the bar was a nice touch. Will be going back again to try something else soon.
This place is usually good. I was served a very questionable flatbread and foolishly ate one piece. I knew it was bad. I sent it back and they still charged me for it. I was sick to my stomach a few hours later. My wife’s meal was excellent however.
Wonderful all around restaurant. Great beach casual. Fine dining food if that's what you want that was well worth the value and great tasting. Burgers etc if that's your mood. My First time and would highly recommend this restaurant. Staff very friendly and accommodating.
We had a great meal, service was awesome and the overall dining experience was very pleasant! We hope to go back sometime.
Hood food. Will return soon!
Usually like coming here but this visit was disappointing. We were seated on the enclosed porch which had 2 doors that continuously opened and made it cold. We ordered Brie appetizer and burgers- both disappointing. Service was not upto par as usual- perhaps better in the summer and for breakfast.
A nice quiet place to dine with a very good select of entrée and excellent food. Very innovative.
Excellent experience overall. I had the seafood risotto. Large portion with great taste.
No parking, but this usually wouldn't be problem except it was raining. I made reservations at least a week in advance, but the only available table was a drafty corner of the covered patio. Was not problematic for me, but it was for my wife. We've been here twice before, this was the worst experience of the three. Service was good, food wasn't bad.
Diverse menu and good food. One of my go to restaurants in Cape May.
Great place to eat, great atmosphere, the food is amazing
We were there on Sunday February 11th for my granddaughters art show which was
being sponsored by her high school, Lower Cape May Regional High School
in the area. We attending the art show and decided to stay for dinner. There were
7 of us and we had a great time, wonderful table on the new front porch and
the service was amazing. The server was fast and efficient and very pleasant.
Greg Carpenter Duo was playing that night. Awesome music. Food was fantastic. I had the filet and crab cake. Cooked to perfection and one of the best crab cakes I have ever eaten. Wife had the scallops and they were hands down, without a doubt the best scallops I have ever had. Very extensive craft beer menu. Really nice and relaxed atmosphere. Higher end establishment and priced accordingly but worth every penny. Can't wait to go again.
I was a little disappointed in the Mad batter. We were seated on the enclosed porch in February. The doors kept opening which made it uncomfortably cold and detracted from the whole experience. The service was great and the food was mediocre.
The food and mixed drinks were all very good; however, the one Sauvignon Blanc wine available tasted like a Chardonnay (too sweet) and the Cabernet Sauvignon was not satisfactory either. I have always enjoyed my visits to The Mad Batter whether for brunch, late lunch, light dinner fare or a full dinner with friends. We have also stopped in for a nightcap, it is always a fun place. Friendly staff...we love Marta, Kay, Sue & Heather, you are all the best!
We're never disappointed with Mad Batter. We typically hit there for breakfast as we think it's one of the best in Cape May. This time it was dinner with equal quality.
Had a nice meal. However asked for a booth that was open and was told no that they expected several parties of 4. 2 booths remained open for our entire meal.
Love the mad batter for breakfast, lunch or dinner. It's always enjoyable
Great location, parking nearby. Great food and service.
