Usually like coming here but this visit was disappointing. We were seated on the enclosed porch which had 2 doors that continuously opened and made it cold. We ordered Brie appetizer and burgers- both disappointing. Service was not upto par as usual- perhaps better in the summer and for breakfast.
Excellent experience overall. I had the seafood risotto. Large portion with great taste.
No parking, but this usually wouldn't be problem except it was raining. I made reservations at least a week in advance, but the only available table was a drafty corner of the covered patio. Was not problematic for me, but it was for my wife. We've been here twice before, this was the worst experience of the three. Service was good, food wasn't bad.
Diverse menu and good food. One of my go to restaurants in Cape May.
Great place to eat, great atmosphere, the food is amazing
We were there on Sunday February 11th for my granddaughters art show which was
being sponsored by her high school, Lower Cape May Regional High School
in the area. We attending the art show and decided to stay for dinner. There were
7 of us and we had a great time, wonderful table on the new front porch and
the service was amazing. The server was fast and efficient and very pleasant.
Greg Carpenter Duo was playing that night. Awesome music. Food was fantastic. I had the filet and crab cake. Cooked to perfection and one of the best crab cakes I have ever eaten. Wife had the scallops and they were hands down, without a doubt the best scallops I have ever had. Very extensive craft beer menu. Really nice and relaxed atmosphere. Higher end establishment and priced accordingly but worth every penny. Can't wait to go again.
I was a little disappointed in the Mad batter. We were seated on the enclosed porch in February. The doors kept opening which made it uncomfortably cold and detracted from the whole experience. The service was great and the food was mediocre.
The food and mixed drinks were all very good; however, the one Sauvignon Blanc wine available tasted like a Chardonnay (too sweet) and the Cabernet Sauvignon was not satisfactory either. I have always enjoyed my visits to The Mad Batter whether for brunch, late lunch, light dinner fare or a full dinner with friends. We have also stopped in for a nightcap, it is always a fun place. Friendly staff...we love Marta, Kay, Sue & Heather, you are all the best!
We're never disappointed with Mad Batter. We typically hit there for breakfast as we think it's one of the best in Cape May. This time it was dinner with equal quality.
