The Happy hour menu was a lovely surprise. We ordered wine and a hummus platter, and enjoyed our popovers with soup and salad. Always a nice atmosphere.
Popovers, Mandarin Chicken Salad, and wonderful iced tea make a perfect lunch. Full of nostalgia for those who remember and loved the restaurants at Dayton’s.
Always good. Love the popovers and the chicken pot pie!
Good food and service.
Good as always. I like that this is a place where you can have a conversation with others at your table.
It is a rather dated decor with lots of kid people. The waitress was not attentive and it took a while to get our bill. There was a light bulb flickering above my head which drive me crazy. Restaurantbhard ti fund unless you are a regular. I felt like I was looking for a dressing room.
So grateful, for a memorable V Day late lunch, Randy and Darrell
Have always enjoyed the food and service, as well as ambiance.
Good food and service
This is a great place for conversation (quiet noise level). Food is very good and very reasonable. Good menu choices for gluten free.
Good as always. Also has a good gf menu. Would recommend.
I waited thirty five minutes for the worst grilled cheese sandwich I've ever had.
Great food for a reasonable price. A good place if you want to have a conversation. Not a lot of noise.
We have a book club here that meets for Happy Hour! It is great! Service is fantastic and the food is always good.
Good food and service.
Always a great meal and service. Have gone there for over 40 years and it is one of my favorite spots
Consistently good food and service.
I always enjoy having lunch at Lakeshore Grill. The food is always good. The only reason I have the food at 4 stars instead of 5 is because I had the starter Caesar chopped salad and there was something in it that made it spicy which I definitely don't expect in a Caesar salad. I will not order that again unless they can take that spice out for me. My daughter felt the same.
Excellent food. Appreciate that noise level is low, and you can hear the conversation at the table. Good happy hour values. House wine is good. Love the popovers!
Hi - Great place. I have been going there with my high school group for the past 3
years. We love the pop overs. This was our Christmas brunch.
Worst service I’ve ever had there. Usually really good.
We are use to Ridgedale Macy Resturant. We just moved to Edina area and Southdale is dated and needs serious refreshing. Wait staff fine and food ok. Also liked the small popovers at Ridgedale and they provide additional N/C. Here they give you one and charge extra for additional. ($1.50) Didn’t leave with a good feeling. Ate at Ridgedale weekly for years.
Very good food and service.
Loved our waitress!! Great restaurant - truly a hidden gem!
Nice place but windowless so a bit different than most restaurants. Free popovers to start were wonderful. Good service. Lobster bisque was not as good as I hoped but overall good food.
I've been visiting this restaurant for many years. The service has always been excellent, the atmosphere pleasant, and the food tasty and down to earth. The popovers are always a treat for me. This is an especially good place if you want to meet with friends and have conversations. You won't be competing with the sounds of TV or loud piped in music.
Great place for old friends to get together. Loved the popovers and Sam, our server.
Good food and service.
Excellent food and service. Menu choice had good variety. A gem for conversation, as noise level was minimal. Good 'happy hour' choices as well.
Lovely adult birthday lunch for the family. Great popovers!
Perfect place for our book club!!
A good place to go for good food and conversation. The popovers are a treat and I have rarely been disappointed with what I order. Now it's three generations of our family that have come to this restaurant for the opportunity to sit down in a quiet place with good food and good service and nice atmosphere.
Always good food... friendly wait staff.....consistently good....
For a family get together of eight people, including one child, this was an excellent choice for dinner.
Service was pleasant and prompt. The popovers got oohs of welcome. The menu is mostly familiar, comfort food. The scene was busy but not noisy. Ambiance is comfortable and of an older decade. Prices were a good value, moderate. Macys could do better in helping patrons find the Grill. We would go again.
very poor access for elderly or disabled folks. We will not return due to this.
A longtime favorite. They Have a new menu and they’ve taken off the caramelized salmon, but you can still order it. Great food and nice and quiet so you can carry on a conversation.
Always a pleasant waitress and good service - love the popovers, but wish they were served closer to the meal.
Great service and the best place for book club!
I knew going in that this was based on the old Dayton's Dept. store restaurants. I chose the restaurant because it was close to the AMC theater. The clientele was on the older side and this is a very subdued place and I also wasn't worried they would challenge me, food-wise. I was still pleasantly surprised that the food was quite good, fresh and tasty. I had the Asiago-crusted Chicken, quite good. My girlfriend had a chicken salad ( I forget which), it was substantial and also quite good. Of course the popovers were delicious, probably the best in town. For drinks, I had the "premium" Manhattan, again substantial but this one was just so-so. The service was adequate and attentive. I absolutely would recommend this place for pre-movie dinner. If they ask you if you want to sit by the "fireplace", be warned, it's just candles:)
Love the popovers! Delicious. Salads looked nice. My stir fry was a little tired; pieces small and overlooked.
