This is one of my favorite spots to dine. The food is plentiful and very tasty. You can bring your own wine or beer. I highly recommend the Afghan Kebab House! Be sure to try the lamb with orange, pine nuts and rice! Delicious!!

Great local spot! In biz for 40 years and owner still serves fresh cuts from local butchers. The sauces including the hot sauce are home made and amazing. We had two apps and two entrees and it was $68. It's BYOB with no corking fee. Great food at reasonable prices. Will come again for sure.

This was my first time dining in an Afghanistan restaurant. I had some dumplings with mint yogurt, topped with tasty ground meat ($8.00) as my appetizer, it was very enjoyable. For my main course I had the lightly salted lamb chops ($22). They were served well done (the waiter never asked how I wanted them cooked), and they were served lukewarm, while the vegetable on the same plate was the appropriate temperature. Those two facts made me wonder if the lamb chops were pre-cooked and reheated when I ordered them. If not, how does lamb chops come out well done and not hot, while the vegetable was?

Kebabs were moist and flavorful, the pumpkin samosas were delicious, and there is plentiful outdoor seating as well as very large doors that ventilate the indoor space. In these times when international travel isn’t happening, great to converse with the owner about Afghan life. We look forward to coming back.

I had been wanting to try Afghan Kebab House, and am glad that I finally did. The food is just amazing. I started with the mashed pumpkin samosas, were which fantastic. I then had the tandoori fish with rice and Afghan bread, which was also delicious. I finished with the chocolate cake, which was wonderful. The service was solid and the prices were cheap by NYC standards. The perfect place if you want to try something different and affordable.

One of the absolute gems in this neighborhood. We have gone now 4 times and each time has been fantastic. The fried pumpkin turnovers/dumplings, scallion/beef dumplings with yogurt, fried beef dumplings, chicken tandoori, lamb kefta and naringe palau are all wonderful. Service is always polite and prompt. Plus byob with no corkage fee seals the deal.

Food was great, restaurant is very nice, with great parking options. Service was bad even though we were four people with reservations. The owner/main Manager was very nonchalant about timing and our general seating options, menu choices and ordering. I may come back because the good was pretty good, but will try another place first.

The chicken and lamb that we ordered was delicious, however we also opted for one of the vegetable plates which was underwhelming. Interestingly enough, the rice was a real stand out. Delicious. The menus are held together with duct tape, which was a little disconcerting, but the food was high-quality even though the vegetables were nothing much. The interior was quite charming but could use a little bit of love, just like the menus.

As always, great authentic Afghan food in a colorful environment. The owner/waiter/wise man is a delight. “Aushak” a must, either as appetizer or main course (or both!). Caution: BYOB (several places to buy within a block or two).

The quality of the food was distinctly lower than on several previous visits. The chcken still had the skin on and the lamb was tough and chewy. he waiter did not ask if we wished to have any liquor, wine or beer. The interior is dated. The cup of Turkish Coffee was 1/2 full with coffee sediment. The Decaf coffee was very good. The baklava was fresh and well made and very tasty.

Restaurant was empty asked for a specific table he said it was reserved nobody sat there the entire time we were there. The person taking the order acted as if he was doing us a favor. It was quite an unpleasant experience will never go there again
