Excellent salmon! The large Mac's salad with salmon on it is great. They have above average cole slaw and wonderful table bread. Service is good and the restaurant is clean and inviting.
Had two great pasta dishes.
Excellent food and service
We had a great lunch. My wife had the Buffalo Shrimp, I had the Cesar salad with Grilled Salmon and our friend had the Mac's Burger. Service was perfect.
Very delicious! I went for my birthday and my meal and dessert were free! Great experience, we will go again!
Had a great birthday celebration for my wife. She had the lobster pasta dish and I had the maple glazed salmon dinner. Both were perfect. Topped of dinner with the compliment ary New York cheese cake dessert.
We were two and we both greatly enjoyed our dinners........mine was lobster tails and my friend had a seafood pasta......desserts were passed on but looked good!
I am from the area originally but live in Dallas and travel quite a bit. I love New Orleans-cuisine and this is very good but not what I’m used to getting. The gumbo has a cream sauce instead of the roux sauce I’m used to. But the oysters on the half shell were delicious. I have to ask for crackers and the first time I came all they had were oyster crackers for the raw oysters. They had some this time, only a couple though so I had to ask for more. They are trying to accommodate my style and the service is good and it is a very popular restaurant that looks like it has once been three shops now all converted to one large restaurant. A very popular dining spot in the small town of Saline on a major artery near Detroit.
My boyfriend and I have enjoyed Macs numerous times. I have also taken clients there for lunch and dinner meetings. It has always been fantastic. However, we went on Valentines Day and my dish (that I always get), was awful. I was so disappointed. However, that is the first time I have walked out unhappy. Typically a great place.
I love going to Mac's! It's over a 40 minute drive, so I don't go there as much as I'd like. Their food is always great and the prices are reasonable. This is my #1 seafood place -- Better than Real Seafood in Ann Arbor (which is only a 30-minute drive).
Also, they have a rewards club that is free to join and gets you a free appetizerjust for signing up. Sign up with your phone: Text "MACS" to 55678 . ( you will recieve a txt back, leave the card number "blank" and fill in the form to register.)
Great food. We love Macs! The fresh seafood and the bread pudding are fantastic!
As always, the food was great -- well prepared and very tasty. Coby did a fabulous job with her service, We had the lobster pasta dish and the sirloin steak dinner .
I was pleasantly surprised by the food and ambiance. Sausage and grits - was very good!!!
The calamari was horrible, worst I’ve ever had. Waitress took forever to do anything and couldn’t even open a bottle of wine. Just an overall bad experience.
We had two of our favorites -- my wife had the lobster pasta dish and I had the crab cakes. Service was great, drinks were outstanding and the food was super.
The folks at the door were friendly and sat us right away. It has a nice open feel with sparse fish decor on the walls. The menus were digital tablets with most items clickable for a description and picture. So far so good. Once the soft drink was dropped off, we were basically forgotten about. Bread was dropped off (tasty) but we still hadn't placed our food order. When our order was finally taken, I felt rushed. The food came out fairly quickly after that and the presentation was very nice. Good use of plate sauce and garnish which made it all the more disappointing when the flavour didn't hold up the expectations. It was instead sweet, bland, and mushy. I was really looking forward to finding another location that serves good fish so I may have to give them another chance but this was not and very promising experience.
Enjoyed special lunch pricing during restaurant week!
Unfortunately, bread wasn’t very hot and soup was barely warm. Coleslaw was ok. Tuna melt was delicious & friend’s club looked very good.
Waitress was ok—had to ask for some things a couple times...
Love! We continue to frequent this restaurant for the food, friends, staff and ambiance!
Mac's is a wonderful restaurant in downtown Saline. I had not been there in years, but it remained remarkable. Many great, fresh seafood selections. I had the Fisherman's Catch on pasta. The shrimp. scallops and particularly the calamari were perfectly cooked. We will be back much sooner that our last hiatus!
The food was very good and the service was very attentive. My only down comment is that, once again, the room was almost empty, but the maitre d' tried to seat us next to the coffee service area.
Twin lobster tails was undercooked and fries were old
Wait staff super busy due to NYE so didn’t complain
Overall ok but the food was a little disappointing
Maybe will give another try on not such a busy night
The lobster tail and lobster pasta dishes were great. Service was perfect. Happy New Year Mac's!
Went there for an early dinner on New Year's Eve with family. The menu favors seafood and cajun but has something for everyone. Always great food and great service. Love this place!!
As always we had great food and great service. We ate light with salafs and appetizers as our entrees.
As always, the food was great and Aidan's was perfect. I had the Fisferman's Seafood Linguini and my wife had the lobster stuffed ravioli. Both were wonderful.
Food was good but service was horrible. It took forever to get our drinks. Waitress never brought any bread. We had to constantly ask for drink refills. Waitress was more interested in what other wait staff was doing, maybe because she’s younger? We were there for my mothers 70th birthday. I had to tell the waitress to fix the bill for the birthday promo. For what we paid, I didn’t feel we received our money’s worth. We’ve been there before and didn’t have issues with service. We will go back again but will request more mature waitstaff. Just unfortunate that we had to experience that on a special night.
We were very disappointed in the food, especially after reading all the four and five star reviews. They had to have been fake or written by people who do not dine out very often. My new york strip was very thin and very overcooked. The calamari is inedible. My husband had the etouffee and he described it as "meh". The coleslaw is drowning in mayonnaise. We do not mind paying a lot of money for excellent food at a great restaurant -- this is not one of them. The ambiance is very nice and the service was very good. Dan's Tavern across the street is much better food and a way better value.
We visited this time for my husbands birthday. They have a great birthday deal which is really nice but even without it we would enjoy going there. The food is excellent (and consistently so) and the staff is helpful and friendly. The food is delicious. Options for non-seafood eaters but definitely a go to for seafood. We are in love with their lobste poutine appetizer. Gator is fun too. All of it is good.
The ambience was pleasant, as it usually is. We had an excellent waitress and the food was very good (lobster fettuccini for one & strip steak for the other person).
We had the maple salmon. It was very good. sides were good also. Shrimp cocktail before hand was large and enjoyable.
I have eaten here many times - excellent from start to finish in every way.
We had a great dinner with Michael S. providing service. My wife had her favorite lobster pasta meal and I had the Cod special meal. Have never enjoyed cod so much!
First timer's to MAC's it was great! Food was awesome! We will definately go back.
Love Macs. Love their fried clams. ...best in area.
Ugh. Seated next to super loud large table, long wait for food, wrong salad (mine), extra small piece of salmon on husband's salad, no service, had to ask for check, long, long wait for charge...we were anxious to leave.
As always, great food and drinks. We had the lobster pasta dish and a ceasar salad with grilled salmon.
Was disappointed that some of their menu items were not available. They did not have the shrimp n grits and they ran out of rainbow trout. Instead we orders the lobster dinner and broiled scallops, that came with side. Both weee good and at a relatively fair price. Was disappointed they would not give us happy hour deals even though we were adajacent to the bar. The crab sliders had a little to much filling when that small should be lump meat.
We had a great dinner - the food was well-prepared & delivered timely. Our waiter, Adrian, was top notch!
We decided to try Mac's based on the reviews on Open Table. We both love calamari and have eaten it at many restaurants across the country. This was the worst we've had--tough, not well fried, and with a poor choice of sauce. A bad start. The rolls were hot and reasonably good. Caesar salads were quite good. The seafood gumbo and jambalaya were both OK--nothing special. We don't plan to go back.
Our meals were great. Very busy after Michigan football game so service was as good as could be expected.
