Great service! Wonderful waiter! I would like to say, thank you!
Went for a Valentines’s dinner. Service was excellent.
Excellent food; loved the ambiance.
Octopus was like rubber rest of the food was good but nothing special
Excellent meal tonight. Restaurant week offerings were delicious and quite a good bargain. Everything was good, the salad, the risotto, the lamb chops and dessert. Excellent value tonight. Pizza and the griglia mista were excellent too.
We chose Macello because of its proximity to Revel Fulton Market, where we were headed for a charity event. Macello is a great place to go for really delicious Italian food, especially the pizza. We went with my parents who have visited Italy many times, and they said it was the best pizza they had eaten in a long time.
Atmosphere, service, & food is exceptional. The food cooked in the wood oven is just so good. The pizza is off the chart.
Delicious food and nice Ambience. All of our meals were outstanding! Friendly staff and great location.
If it’s not on the menu, ask the waiter to zuppa di pesce. The chef always complies and it is a phenomenal dish. I’ve been there on multiple occasions and never been disappointed.
I keep going back for the wood oven grilled sea bass. I have travelled extensively and have never found a sea bass prepared so well. It is a generous piece of well-seasoned fish that from the moment your fork touches it you know it is going to be tender and juicy. I am also very choosy about marinara sauces and recently tried a pasta that I am still raving about. Add to that, the warmth and convivial feel that the wood oven provides for the room and you have a great winter dining spot.
Good food. Very loud
We went for restaurant week and had a reservation, took over 30 minutes to get a table.
The Hostess said that they were overbooked. Others waiting seemed to have to go back up to her to check in on their tables as she would forget about them (her words).
Food was good, service was great.
Had a reservation for four and we were seated without any delay. Service, food and atmosphere were great. Have never been disappointed.
Perfectly portioned entrees and ample appetizers. Perfect place for a friends' get together. Interesting decor.
My favorite Italian restaurant in Chicago!!!!! The pastas and pizza are amazing. Can’t go wrong with any of the menu items. Highly highly recommend
It was my second time there and I love it. Great place to eat before a game or concert at the United Center. I love the patio in the summer time!
The food was amazing. Bar tender was great. Overall a great place especially before a Blackhawks game
Macello's food is outstanding and the prices are very value oriented.
Fantastic Service, food and environment! Everyone loved their food!
Outstanding ambiance. Impressive wine selection. Easy parking. Food overall is on par with most other Italian restaurants in the city. With the exception of their wood fire pizza/calzone/panzarotti, which are outstanding, nothing too special. Seafood was good, but slightly over done. Lacked depth of flavor.
