Excellent food, a little pricey for such a casual place, but still worth it. Try the polenta . Its one of the best I've ever tried. The Branzino was superb too. The staff was great too. I will keep in my favorites list.
We had an amazing time. The staff was incredibly friendly, the service was excellent, and the food unparalleled. Make it a point to stop in here - you will not be disappointed.
Great server, i forget her name. sort hair , amazing. Thanks.
Delicious Italian food, sensible portions, the chefs understand what “al dente”means so spaghetti pomadora is out of this world. Service is personable, but professional. We try to sit outside because it’s quite noisy inside. But to be fair, it’s noisy inside because the food is so good and the prices so reasonable. It’s one of the few restaurants we return to often. Go. You’ll love it.
Long long wait to be served.
Nice environment - very unassuming location
Food was great. Get one order of the zeppoles they are huge, four to an order and delish. Cocktails are also yummy. Service very attentive
Great service and food that was well presented and served in the time requested
Great food friendly service. Just a great restaurant experience.
MICHAEL is one of the best Italian Chefs in Miami!
Food is so tasty, fresh homemade pastas and other Italian dishes designed by Michael and his team!!
Service is great!
The brick walks and ceiling treatment can transport you to Italy!
Food is outstanding with service to match. Wonderful homemade pastas
Amazing as always.... have worked our way through the entire menu and they never disappoint. Service and Food is some of the best in Miami
What can I say. The staff was excellent. Our waitress Kelly was phenomenal. She new every nuance to the menu. Was able to pair the right wine. Friendly and attentive . We look forward to visiting again upon our next trip to Miami Beach. Heading to sister restaurant in Brooklyn !
Really great food and service!
It was amazing. I will definitely return. Everything was delicious and the service was impeccable.
Remarkable food. Good service.
Sat at bar. Great service. Highly recommend tasting menu
Great authentic homemade italian cuisine. Very pleasant waitress. Reasonably priced.
Great night out. Met owner and had a ton of personal attention. Waited a bit longer than we wanted for our table to be ready especially with a reservation but it was worth the wait. Restaurant is small but very cozy. We were encouraged to do the chefs tasting menu which I generally don’t like but it was fabulous. If they have the polenta with sausage Rafi on the menu when you are there don’t miss it. One of the most delicious dishes over ever eaten.
The food was really good, especially mushroom pasta. The dessert (pannacotta) was ok but nothing special. The noise in the restaurant was very loud. We had trouble hearing one another. People were screaming out loud. My boyfriend actually measured the sound level and it was avg 90 dB (60 is normal conversation, 85 is hearing impairment limit). Would have been an even nicer dining experience if it was more calm.
Had a reservation for 8pm and didn’t get seated until 9pm! What’s the point of a reservation???
We had to stay on them about seating us!
Although food was very good, would never go there again and would not recommend!
Delightful server, Kelly recommended our favorite dish of the evening the polenta.
Wonderful find..unpretentious neighborhood place with terrific food and lovely atmosphere. Do not miss the polenta..amazing. Also the burrata was creamy and melt in your mouth delicious. A completely unexpected find in otherwise over the top south beach.
The food was terrific. The noise level waaaay too high. And for some mysterious reason they served the red wine cold. ugh. When I mentioned it the server said they always did that, but she did find me a room temperature glass. The tip of 18 percent was included which I think is great. We added a bit. Oh, and the tiramisu was the best I've ever had!
Fantastic experience. We were lucky and happened to make a booking on pasta Thursday where pasta dishes were going at $10 each which was incredibly value for money. We had the polenta to start and that was delicious. Our toddler enjoyed it immensely. The mushroom pasta and macchialina special were both on point. We finished off our meal with the banana bread pudding which was wonderful too.
Portions were very small. I ordered oil and garlic pasta and it had chilies it. It was so spicy I couldn't eat it. They should say that on the menu
I make a point of going early because the noise level is high when it gets busy. But love the vibe !
When your wife says to you; "from start to finish, this is one of the best restaurants, I have ever eaten at", what else can one say. I would have to agreehia with her in that everything we ate was a truly wow experience. Who says South Beach lacks in great dining?????!!!!!!!
Everything was fine but we needed to ask that the blaring music be toned down! Ate early and the staff was oblivious to the terribly loud music they apparently played while setting up Totally inappropriate for an other wise excellent restaurant
Machialina is a small intimate very cool restaurant with a great atmosphere. The service is excellent, much better than almost anywhere else in Miami. Now the important part...the food is fantastic from the salads to the incredible pomodoro pasta to the succulent veil Milanese. Definitely a 5 Star place.
The food is excellent (though the pasta dish was a little small for the price)and I highly recommend the eggplant parm. The wine list is also excellent though a little pricey. The sommeliere really knows her stuff and was very accommodating, including splitting a bottle for us. The wait staff was also delightful. We sat outside because inside was super loud but the outside is right on a busy road, so less than ideal. Still the place is well worth the trip and it seems like plenty of others already know that so make a reservation.
Party of 6 went well, food was little salty otherwise excellent
We had a late night dinner reservation and sat inside. We shared Creamy Polenta (which for some reason I was scared to try but OMG it was so delicious and creamy, and cheesy lol), Short Rib Lasagna ( very tender and the taleggio cheese added a nice touch), Cavatelli Macchialina, & Spaghetti Caccio e Pepe. We visited on Thursday night witch was a $10 pasta night. All the pastas are made fresh and in house. Also keep in mind food comes out as it is ready. Service was great and the pasta was very, very good!
Blown away by the exquisite pastas. On par w/ the best in NYC and Italy. Walking the fine line between tradition and innovation with grace and ease. Perfectly textured fresh pastas with careful balance of flavors. Awesome vitello milanese seasoned with a little charred lemon. Decadent burrata not overly chilled. Can’t wait to go back. The server was excellent-attentive and well informed. The kitchen was super fast, which was greatly appreciated. The wine list was superb especially compared to the local competition. The ambience was a nice mix of casual and lively and the lighting hit the sweet spot. Many thanks for a wonderful evening.
Seating is very tight and noise level makes it difficult to carry on a conversation.
My wife said her pasta dish was good. My veal milanese was very tough and extremely dry. Should have sent it back but decided to eat it and was unhappy.
Will not be returning.
This is a charming restaurant serving the best italian food that I have ever had. Fun and festive atmosphere with excellent service. Clear to see why Macchialina is the number one italian restaurant in the Miami Beach area!! A restaurant one must visit when visiting South Beach ! We will be return patrons for certain . THANK YOU for a wonderful dining experience!
Wonderful evening good food excellent service
Not at all what we expected. Service was rushed and annoying. We felt unwelcome and server was ready to go home. The food was very disappointing. The polenta dish was tasty but super heavy on the oil. It was a bomb. We just ended up having the mushroom pasta after the polenta. The pasta was an oil soup. It was not.good at all. I felt immediately sick after eating here.
Their wines were decent, therefore 2 stars. Not coming back, not recommended.
We loved our experience at Macchialina from beginning to end. We sat at at the bar and were warmly greeted by our server Amy. She gave us great recommendations on both food and wine that we both loved. My favorites of the night were the octopus and the short rib lasagna, but I loved everything we ate and can not wait to try more dishes from the menu. At the end we finished our meal with a shared panacotta and some after dinner drinks. I look to our next visit as service was impeccable, ambiance was cozy and food delicious!
