Macchialina Taverna Rustica
Our favorite restaurant on Miami Beach and one of the best in SOFLA. A consistent winner. Best pasta in town.
The food was exceptional. Our server was very knowledgeable and friendly. The reason for the 3 stars is upon arrival for our 6pm reservation, we arrived at 5:54pm and as we opened the door, we were greeted with a hand almost in my face and told “we open exactly at 6pm”. Being in the service industry, I do understand time standards, however a friendly approach would have been better appreciated. This was our one year wedding anniversary celebration and this put us both off. I would recommend the food to others but that initial greet left me with such a bad taste that we will not return.
The food and service are always amazing!!! Tonight was no exception.
This place is so good it rivals many mom & pop restaurants I’ve found on my numerous trips to Italy. The lasagna although a typical dish, was unlike anything I’ve never tried before. Simply delicious and the food is amazing across the menu. This place ain’t no joke!
Took my mother for mother’s day. Place is amazing, food is delicious process very well prepared, service is spectacular
Don't like auto 18% tip. Especially when they calculate on the alcohol as well. I was in the business for 20 years and always made 20% + tips that were based on my service. Will not go back
Golly gee whiz-what a find. We were only going to be in Miami for one night before we began our Florida keys vacation so I wanted to find something that wasn’t seafood focused. What a great restaurant. The food was exceptional - we had the meatballs appetizer to start- superb. Then I had the clams with pasta - pasta was cooked perfectly and then clams were very good. My husband had the steak and I have to say it was one of the best steaks we’ve even had out. The seasoning was delicious and it was cooked to perfection. For dessert we shared the bread pudding - which was our waitresses recommendation and she was spot on. This is a restaurant that obviously puts a lot of live and pride into their food but also into their staff. Everyone was so nice and helpful. Definitely a great place to visit whether you’re in Miami for a day or a lifetime.
Best restaurant in the world. I always dine here when I come to Miami and I live in NY. I always order something different and the chef never disappoints.
We really wanted to like this place. Read all the great reviews and decided to make a reservation. My teenage daughter and I along with two of her friends arrived 10 minutes early for our reservation and were greeted by a very pleasant hostess who asked if all members of our party were here. I replied that we were waiting for my husband. After about 5 minutes, another hostess arrived with menus and said "follow me". We followed her to a table in the back and were promptly greeted by our server. I ordered a cocktail and the girls ordered drinks. A few minutes later, the hostess who sat us returned to the table asking if we were still waiting for one guest to which I replied "yes...my husband". She began to reprimand me stating "we do not seat incomplete parties". I was utterly confused since she was the very person who had just sat us at this table. She became very snippy and said "you said your husband was parking the car". I told her that she was definitely mistaken and that I never would have said that since we had Ubered there and my husband was meeting us. She continued to berate me at the table and I asked her very nicely if she would like us to get up? She said that she was being yelled at by people out front who
"could see that we weren't all at the table and were seated anyway"... no one at the front could see our table in the back and I came back to my question "would you like us to leave? We are happy to leave if you need this table". She responded that she didn't want us to leave. I asked what she wanted us to do at this point.....her response was "we just expect honesty". I calmly explained that I was honest when I said that we were waiting for my husband...I never asked to be seated early...SHE sat us...She just kept shaking her head at me repeating we need honesty. Husband arrived and we ordered. Server was great . Food was fantastic. They sent a dessert to try to make up for it...too late. First impressions stick..a shame
Great food and server. An outstanding meal all around. I had the short rib lasagna, marvelous. My wife had the mushroom pasta also great. New taste sensation orange wine another treat.
Amazing food and service as always. Gave 4 stars for food as wasn't what I expected and only two meatballs - very tasty though.
The veal is a must..their homemade tomato sauce is something out of this world
I love the place. It’s a little gem. Service is always great just like all their dishes
Service was outstanding, food was very tastefull but very small main pasta portions . Best tiramisu cake ever !
Absolutely wonderful! From the polenta to the pasta every dish was bursting with flavor. Highly recommended if in South Florida, do not miss the opportunity. Hit $10 Pasta Thursday! Reservations are a must. ENJOY!
I recommend to everyone! You can’t beat fresh, handcrafted pasta dishes, served by knowledgeable, friendly staff who treat you like family! Too many great things about this place for one review! Become a regular, even if you’re a tourist!
Amazing food, awesome service!!!! That polenta tho... brilliant!!
FAVOLOSO!!!! AN ITALIAN RESTAURANT WITH GREAT FOOD
We had the chef’s tasting menu. Amazing meal, wonderful service.
Amazing food cocktails and wine selection. Every dish was fantastic.
We love Macchialina and come as often as we can to have some of the best pasta, wine and service in Miami (Beach)
Great place to eat real Italian pasta! Thursday’s they have $10 pasta!!
It’s no secret that this restaurant is popular in South Beach. Off the beaten path in a sense, it has to be some of the best Italian food we have eaten anywhere in our travels. Can’t rave about it enough. Will be a go to moving forward. Just such lovely staff and overall dining experience. Truly five stars.
It is the best Italian food on the Beach. and if you can catch Bolognese night, you hit the jackpot
Food was great, service was mediocre, small but cozy, over good but expensive for what your getting. They’re not Michelin star rated but they think they are.
Absolutely hands down the best Italian food in south beach! We sat up at the bar and the bartender was great, gave good suggestions and helped us with other suggestions of places to go as well! We met the two head chefs and was very impressed all around. We got the burrata to start, and 3 pastas- mushroom spaghetti, caccio de pepe, and lasagna. Hard to pick a favorite because they were all amazing!
Local Hang with friendly, welcoming vibe. Very good food.
Awful...service and food...not worth my 30 miles drive to this place...used to recommend this place to a lot of people...sorry everything changed...not going back there...sorry...
consistently outstanding.. we always have the chef's tasting and never disappointing
Fresh homemade pasta, nice wine list, warm environment. The puffed bread was the star of the meal- a must order item. The bar was pretty. I think I’d sit there next time.
Greatly overrated and overhyped why???
Food just so so
Beautiful decor but not worth the hype.
Service cant keep a water glass full. The food was average but the chefs tasting menu was nothing more than that, average. Can find better for cheaper
Amazing burrata appetizer, the homemade pasta is to die for! Definitely recommend.
Our favorite Italian restaurant in town! The short rib lasagna is amazing. And the branzino my favorite in town! Service always on point. A must go.
The food and service were absolutely fantastic! We left stuffed and thoroughly satisfied. Everything was great....the lasagna, the branzino, the polenta, the zeppoles, the broccolini, veal parm.... I would go back in a minute.
It was VERY good food and service (Wait staff/kitchen) the hostess seemed overwhelmed and I shouldn’t notice that as a patron. It is a small but busy place which I understand but it’s her job to make things run seamlessly and not make patrons feel as though they are a burden. she did realize and correct herself but I kept noticing the same theme.
Great food. Friendly service.
Always enjoy the tasting menu. Each item is better than the last.
Noce place good food
