Macchialina Taverna Rustica Ratings and Reviews
With a reservation we were told we would have to wait for at least 45 minutes for a table inside. We had to sit outside on the sidewalk....very chilly windy night. When we questioned why our reservation was not honored, we were told with attitude that our reservation gave us a table but didn’t specify inside!! Very rude and unacceptable!!
Food is good but very, very pricey ($200 for dinner for 3 with their cheapest bottle of wine, no dessert or coffee). Service is not great. They clearly need more servers. Worst of all the noise level is through the roof. No sound proofing making it a shoutfest to have a conversation with your dining companions. Won’t go back.
Have been here several times. A midscale price authentic Italian restaurant on busy Alton Blvd. Even though it is owned by the Pub Belly group, it maintains its own italian feel. The cheeses are excellent. I don't think there is any better burrata anywhere. The homemade bread is great and recently had the Veal Parmesan which was perfect, great sauce and great but not overwhelmed with cheese
Unfortunately Macchialina didn't nearly live up to expectations. While the pasta dishes were well prepared, the accompaniments were not up to par. In fact, the shrimp in one of our dishes was inedible.
This was a fair, but hardly outstanding, dining experience.
Such a cool place, it’s small and cozy. The food is fresh and the polenta is the best I have ever had and I am Italian. It melts in your mouth, we had seconds after we finished our whole meal because it was so good. The waitress was great and the service was very good.
The food at Macchialina is good but we felt rushed to the point that it made the entire experience extremely disappointing. Trying to turn tables in an hour is not conducive to a gracious Italian dinner. Perhaps allowing more time between reservations would solve the problem.
The food is good and hardy.. The pastas are excellent. Cannot beat a $10 pasta special on Thursdays. The service is very friendly and efficient. There is a lot of vibe going on here. The place is small and cozy, so if a mom shows up with small kids, be prepared to enjoy the happy or not so happy shouts of her entourage. The sound is sure to carry and everyone must participate
