Macaroni's Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
I thought the food, dining experience and overall ambiance was top notch. I would highly recommend and I'm looking forward to a return trip. The bar and wait staff was friendly, knowledgeable and professional. No one hurried us through our meal. We didn't have someone hover over us trying to get us out quickly.
I have been doing to this restaurant for over 10 years. I made a reservation over a month ago. I show up no table is reserved for me. I am a great customer and felt I was pushed aside. My family was disappointed. I have been a returning customer but the reservation was not honored. I love the food but frankly I was was not happy. I feel you you should you owe an apology and a free meal. I spent a lot of money over the years and think we deserve this. How do you make a reservation over a month before dinner and you are knocked of the list. Serve was fantastic by the waiter's but the front desk needs to get it together. I have recommended this restaurant over the years to my friend and business associates. will wait for your reply.
Our food was delicious. Everything is freshly prepared and presented beautifully. The bread and roasted peppers are a meal in itself, and the eggplant stacks.... I’m still thinking about them. The place is beautiful and it’s very easy to forget that you are in Northeast Philadelphia. Above everything though, is the service. The servers are polite, friendly, and professional. The staff work together so well that you want for nothing. In particular, staff named Nicole was helpful and accommodating, even offering a candle for my husband’s dessert because she overheard that it was his birthday. This place is amazing.
The most important thing about a restaurant is that the description of the food on the menu should match what is actually brought out to the customer. The sausage/spinach (now Escarole)/beans antipasti is not supposed to be a spicy hot dish. It never was. The description has not changed; however, this time it was loaded with red hot pepper flakes. I cannot eat spicy foods as I have a throat problem. The waiter kindly said he would send it back and it would be prepared without hot spices. When it came back I still found some pepper flakes in it. Was the cook being nasty to a customer? Throwing a tantrum? The chef should not be adding extra ingredients to a dish that is not supposed to be spicy. Very disappointed in the chef. The wait staff is awesome.
Hostess was rude. Place was empty and we were given the worst seat in the place and waited a solid hour for entrees. Food was not great. One of us got an upset stomach and the other meal was not done correctly. However, the waiters/service was great. The atmosphere /decor was great.
Place needs repairs. They ran out of roasted peppers. I ordered 8 oz filet with garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus. When brought me my meal I was informed they ran out of mashed potatoes. But did not offer a substitute. My wife and I ordered drinks she got a white sangria that was a glass half filled with ice and the same for the sangria. Unfortunately I cannot recommend this restaurant.
Everything from the food, the environment, and the service was great at Macaroni's. Service was quick and attentive. Server displayed knowledge of the food as well as the beer list. I had a filet mignon topped with crab with a side of potatoes. This dish was fantastic. Also enjoyed craft beers from their menu including Swedish and German crafted beers. The noise level was very low which made conversation very easy. After dinner we went to the outside bar for a few cocktails. The bartenders were courteous and quick to serve drinks. I definitely recommend Macaroni's.
Started with glass a red and a white sangria
Roasted reds and bread on table. Really good
We started with anti pasta just right
Veal primo delish
Rack of lamb with polenta right on
Will be back to try pizza and pasta soon
Dessert options were tempting but too full
My husband and I took my mom for birthday dinner. Always great food and service! The only thing that was an issue was that we were seated at a table in the bar area. It was very loud and hard to hear each other talking. I would recommend that unless that’s what you are looking for, that you always request a table in the main dining room or on the outdoor patio.
Been here many times over the past 15 years including when it was much smaller. Food is excellent but sadly the rest of the experience isn't making the grade. Chairs in the bar are horribly frayed with padding coming out. Paint is starting to show its age and the staff is good but not good enough to match the pricing here. The owner is attentive in the sense that he stops over throughout the meal but after a small serving snafu he made no offer to make it right. Instead offered a reason why the mistake was made. I will go back for the food, but it gets to be a more reluctant return each time
Everything was great. My only suggestion would be this: When someone requests leftovers to be wrapped up if the entree has a sauce the server should include at least half of the sauce in the container. The Chicken Florentine has delicious sauce, but whenever I take leftovers home they never put any of the sauce in. It does not help that I always forget to tell them. LOL!
All of the food was very good though.
This was my 4th time at Macaroni's, the second time for lunch. All visits were exceptional. The food has always been excellent and the staff always friendly. The kitchen got a little mixed up and forgot our appetizer of calamari. When we reminded the server, he went back and told the chef. The appetizer therefore came out after our lunch entrees and was provided at no charge because of their mistake. This is the way to provide excellent customer service. The portions are large and we took 1/2 of the appetizer and the remainder of the entrees home. My dining partner had clams linguine which was perfect; the clams were tender and sweet, the broth was savory and the linguine was cooked to perfection and must have been cooked in the clam broth because it was very tasty too. My lobster ravioli was fantastic. The sauce was a beautiful rosy color and fragrant with lobster and the ravioli was stuffed with lobster chunks and pieces and had a great lobster taste. The only thing we missed this time was the great peppers and olive oil and the fantastic bread but by the time we noticed that those table noshes were missing, our entrees had arrived.
