Macaroni's Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
3 couples went for this dinner and usually this is one of our favorite restaurants. The food was very good but service was off. They were very busy but they always are on a Saturday night. After ordering drinks they were all brought to us with the exception of 1,we had to remind the waiter about that. It happened a second time with another round of drinks. The timing of when our food came out was much slower this time than it usually is. My husband’s Halibut fish special was raw in the middle and had to be sent back. We will go back again because it’s in a great location and we like the food. Hoping that service gets back to the level we are used to experiencing there.
Just delicious food! The salad with manchego, figs, and cauliflower is outstanding, as are the mussels appetizer, and the scallops enetree. Next time, I want to try the chicken parm - I saw that go by several times - looks yummy! Don't miss the plated of roasted peppers with bread they serve when you first sit down - great!
The service was awful! My wife asked me do they serve bread and I told her I guess not, seeing that it wasn’t brought out or offered to us. That was until my wife noticed a couple who was seated next to us, was immediately given a basket of bread and olive oil.
Waiter never came around to ask us how we were doing, only the servers who brought the foods to our table asked us how everything was. For the price and the awful service I will never go or recommend this restaurant even though the food was great.
What you need to know
Price- $270 with tip. To include dinner for four, two apps split, entries, no deserts, two glasses of wine each for three persons.
Food- Italian, we think the best food of any restaurant with out going in town. Great pastas, gnocchi, fish, meat right thru desserts. A typical, very nice Italian menu, easy to find something enjoyable
Ambiance- large open area, also a nice bar area you can eat in, feel hip, noisy, slightly dark, feels comfortable for dinner.
Service- typically great, off the last time we visited.
Our experience- we come here for special evenings with friends and family or if we want a very good meal. That’s been years. This evening the food was tops. They nailed all four entries. Forgiving the service, wonderful evening.
I have come here for years-way before the remodeling-and it has always been a special place for my family. Why ? #1 the food is just delicious #2 the service is exceptional and now, since the remodel #3 the place is beautiful.
We had shrimp (5 large) pomadora over spaghetti, shrimp big enough to cut in half - tomato sauce rich in flavor with pieces of basil over spaghetti cooked perfectly. How good could it be ? I eat everywhere to know the difference and to say this is delicious and one of the few I call the best. We had veal medallions covered with shrimp & crab with a light sauce-all fresh and delicious. For a side we tried the grilled cauliflower - read the description and you will know why we tried it - just wonderfully sweet.
Knowing the servings are plentiful; we did not order apps so as to save room for desert. We ordered tiramisu- very lite with plenty of flavor you want in a tiramisu. Also a chocolate tort-extreme chocolate and thick-must be a chocolate lover. Personally, I would get the tort again bus share it, that's how thick and filling it is.
The servers were all friendly & professional - always there when you need them but never intrusive.
The place itself, we sat in the dining room, is beautifully modern style with old world photos.
Like I said, we have always loved coming here and each time we go we say we cant wait to return.
We brought 2 children with us and the waiter was very accommodating. Told us the chef could make them whatever they wanted—which was perfect. I had the scallops, which was probably one of the best scallops dish I’ve ever had!! Someone else in our party had the filet which was cooked perfectly. All in all it was one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time and will definitely be going back!!
I come here for the wild bore and parpadelle which has never disappointed. The branzino was just perfect, my husband loved his squash soup and the eggplant tower was definitely a shareable appetizer. The peppers and bread are the best ever. I could eat those with some nice house pinot noir that they have as my main food. We were too stuffed for dessert and actually had pasta left overs.
The grilled salads were creative and delicious. Our main course were artistically plated and cooked to our liking (steak). The wine tasted great and made for a festive birthday celebration. There were other occupied tables during our time at the restaurant which increased the noise level of the place. A suggestion might be to carpet the floors to cut down on the noise.
Food was good. Very noisy and we sat by the bar (that's where the hostess sat us) and we couldn't hear each other talk. Very cold in the restaurant and couldn't raise the heat since people were going in and out of the back bar and the door kept opening. Better time to go there is the summer and eat outdoors.
Noise level was bowling alley-esque.
Arrived 10 minutes prior to reservation and was seated 30 minutes after the reserved time.
Bartenders, see wait time, were very polished and professional as was the wait staff. Food above avergae but noise level was quite distracting.
I've been patronizing Macaroni's for many years and have always enjoyed the food. The only criticism I have is that this was the first time I made a reservation through open table, which did not give you the option for seating at the bar or in the dining room. When we arrived the hostess wanted to seat us in the bar area, which was not our preference so we had to wait an additional 1/2 hour for a table. I will not use open table again for that reason.
We came here for a low key bday dinner for my sister and had a fantastic dining experience. We were very impress with the quality of food and how professional and friendly the staffs were. This is definitely a wonderful place to dine and the food was delicious. We were so glad that we made RSVp and discover a new gem in our neighborhood. 😊😊😊 Thank you for a wonderful and memorable experience.
We ordered 2 filet mignon specials @ $45 a plate. Both steaks were undercooked and we had to flag down staff member to have sent back! They were returned charred on outside and still undercooked! I feel the quality of the food and service did not meet the price of the food!
