We love to dine as a family and there are quite a few of us. We are never rushed to leave so we can not only enjoy our meal but conversation and a few drinks.
It was wonderful! Food is delicious.
Our first time there, needed to buy gift card for friends 25th wedding anniversary. It is one of there favorite restaurants . We decided to eat there will going for gift card. The drinks and food were good with unusual menu. My husband had wild boar over pasta and would get again. We will definitely be back, probably with friends bought gift card for.
Busy busy Saturday 6:00 and bar is packed. Bartender was very quick to get drinks but not very friendly. Rowdy crowd that finally left. Food was outstanding.
Escarole soup , wedge salad, lamb shank and chicken Sicilian...excellent is an understatement. We live in Delaware County drove up just for the food. Will definitely be back again. Oh, and the peppers that are brought complimentary.....hands down best I ever had😍
I recently ate at Macaroni's. I had the filet mignon special for dinner and the chocolate mousse for dessert. It was amazing and luckily it's in my neighborhood so I make it a point to go quite a few times during the year.
Macaroni’s can be described as a little, hidden, neighborhood gem. The atmosphere is quiet, dimly lit and subtly romantic. Although it was March and we did not eat outside, I have been there during the summer months and the outside seating is beautiful. The service is attentive but not over bearing and the food is always delicious. The eggplant stack and chicken pa are my favorite. The food portions are a good size and the chicken parm is more than enough food to share between two people.
Atmosphere, service, and food were great. We didn’t expect there will be a decent restaurant around old bustleton area. It was our first time there and I would definitely recommend it for anyone I know
Fantastic. Food is simply incredible
Food was spectacular and the staff where all so kind.
First time at Macaroni’s and we will definitely return. Great dinner , excellent service. Parking was a bit tough but it was well worth a short walk.
The Lady I took on a date recommended it for 'Fine Dining" ! The atmosphere was on par. The waiter was passionate , quick and accommodating. I am an experience, flexible City foodie diner in NYC, Philadelphia, S.F. LA and Vegas. The ticket (pricing) was equivalent to the best in all those venues. However; The large Veal Chop ($45) was dry and garnished incongruously with a heavy Orzo? The Branzino was dry, very little sauce or gravy( I have had it many times in Italian
Fine Dining with a red sauce and vegetables like spinach or broccoli Rabe) but this was on a bed of dry, white rice? --A very vapid, tasteless experience. The appetizer eggplant stack was okay but it would have been very good but it was room temperature at the best... My $200 ticket didn't feel right even with some top shelf drinks!!! The chef and the rest of the creative team have to 'get in the game' with Fine Dining expectations. It's conception to delivery and this one definitely didn't work for me even in Northeast Philly!!!!
The food was overall pretty good. The penne vodka was great but the steak was just okay and we got the special with crabmeat but rarely any crabmeat was given. The bread with peppers and calamari was very good. My biggest complaint is the service as our waiter was not very friendly and rushed our meal. He kept trying to insist we order the meal with he appetizer and then when we got our food everything was rushed and before we knew it our check was placed on the table. This is not a great spot for an enjoyable occasion and ideal for business purposes to be in and out.
Food and service are outstanding. Decor could use some upgrading.
Food was delicious and the service impeccable!!! I would highly recommend this restaurant to everyone!!!
Being a South Philly Italian guy it's hard to find a good cozy yet lively quality Italian spot with the personalities I'm used to noq that I live in the North East. Could easily fit in with Collingswood restaurants and new hip spots around Center City...definately a great asset to the neighborhood.
Service and food were very good.
After the server took out order he never came back to our table, it wasn’t even that busy. He didn’t check on our food or even bring us the bill, we had to ask the busy boy. Very disappointed.
Always excellent, high quality food. The service is IMPECCABLE
Food always delicious!
Beyond my expectations for a neighborhood locale. The food was delightful especially my veal. The serving sizes are large enough to enjoy sharing to take in the various dishes.
Service was good, food was very good to excellent but a bit pricey.
3 couples went for this dinner and usually this is one of our favorite restaurants. The food was very good but service was off. They were very busy but they always are on a Saturday night. After ordering drinks they were all brought to us with the exception of 1,we had to remind the waiter about that. It happened a second time with another round of drinks. The timing of when our food came out was much slower this time than it usually is. My husband’s Halibut fish special was raw in the middle and had to be sent back. We will go back again because it’s in a great location and we like the food. Hoping that service gets back to the level we are used to experiencing there.
Just delicious food! The salad with manchego, figs, and cauliflower is outstanding, as are the mussels appetizer, and the scallops enetree. Next time, I want to try the chicken parm - I saw that go by several times - looks yummy! Don't miss the plated of roasted peppers with bread they serve when you first sit down - great!
Wonderful food and service!!!!
Excellent Service, Great Menu, Delicious Food, Beautiful Atmosphere.
Looking forward to our next visit!!
Love the meatballs!
The service was awful! My wife asked me do they serve bread and I told her I guess not, seeing that it wasn’t brought out or offered to us. That was until my wife noticed a couple who was seated next to us, was immediately given a basket of bread and olive oil.
Waiter never came around to ask us how we were doing, only the servers who brought the foods to our table asked us how everything was. For the price and the awful service I will never go or recommend this restaurant even though the food was great.
We had a delightful,if expensive, lunch.
Drinks and dessert for both of us.
The food was fresh and presented beautifully. Try the mushroom toast.
Food was very good, I was disappointed there was not really a good fish option on the menu or in the daily specials.
What you need to know
Price- $270 with tip. To include dinner for four, two apps split, entries, no deserts, two glasses of wine each for three persons.
Food- Italian, we think the best food of any restaurant with out going in town. Great pastas, gnocchi, fish, meat right thru desserts. A typical, very nice Italian menu, easy to find something enjoyable
Ambiance- large open area, also a nice bar area you can eat in, feel hip, noisy, slightly dark, feels comfortable for dinner.
Service- typically great, off the last time we visited.
Our experience- we come here for special evenings with friends and family or if we want a very good meal. That’s been years. This evening the food was tops. They nailed all four entries. Forgiving the service, wonderful evening.
As always, the food here is amazing! Service was slow, but the food makes up for that.
The food was very delicious. Had calamari, wild boar papparadelle, penne alla vodka, tiramasu & cappuccino. Nice quiet ambiance with great wait service. Would definitely recommend.
I have come here for years-way before the remodeling-and it has always been a special place for my family. Why ? #1 the food is just delicious #2 the service is exceptional and now, since the remodel #3 the place is beautiful.
We had shrimp (5 large) pomadora over spaghetti, shrimp big enough to cut in half - tomato sauce rich in flavor with pieces of basil over spaghetti cooked perfectly. How good could it be ? I eat everywhere to know the difference and to say this is delicious and one of the few I call the best. We had veal medallions covered with shrimp & crab with a light sauce-all fresh and delicious. For a side we tried the grilled cauliflower - read the description and you will know why we tried it - just wonderfully sweet.
Knowing the servings are plentiful; we did not order apps so as to save room for desert. We ordered tiramisu- very lite with plenty of flavor you want in a tiramisu. Also a chocolate tort-extreme chocolate and thick-must be a chocolate lover. Personally, I would get the tort again bus share it, that's how thick and filling it is.
The servers were all friendly & professional - always there when you need them but never intrusive.
The place itself, we sat in the dining room, is beautifully modern style with old world photos.
Like I said, we have always loved coming here and each time we go we say we cant wait to return.
I came here w my girl friends and had the linguini w white clam sauce and it was amazing! Whenever I’m craving clams, I want to come here! Recommend to friends
Best Italian restaurant in northeast philadelphia.. a little expensive, but it's definitely worth it.
We brought 2 children with us and the waiter was very accommodating. Told us the chef could make them whatever they wanted—which was perfect. I had the scallops, which was probably one of the best scallops dish I’ve ever had!! Someone else in our party had the filet which was cooked perfectly. All in all it was one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time and will definitely be going back!!
We always enjoy the food & dining here. My daughter was here from AZ with her boyfriend & my hubby & I wanted to treat them to the best place for food & drinks!!! It was fantastic ❤️
Excellent food and service!!! Little bit noisy but it was Christmas Eve.
Will be back
Great food, need more gluten free pasta!! We enjoyed ourselves and the wait staff was awesome!! Desserts yummy!!
