Macaroni's Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
I have come here for years-way before the remodeling-and it has always been a special place for my family. Why ? #1 the food is just delicious #2 the service is exceptional and now, since the remodel #3 the place is beautiful.
We had shrimp (5 large) pomadora over spaghetti, shrimp big enough to cut in half - tomato sauce rich in flavor with pieces of basil over spaghetti cooked perfectly. How good could it be ? I eat everywhere to know the difference and to say this is delicious and one of the few I call the best. We had veal medallions covered with shrimp & crab with a light sauce-all fresh and delicious. For a side we tried the grilled cauliflower - read the description and you will know why we tried it - just wonderfully sweet.
Knowing the servings are plentiful; we did not order apps so as to save room for desert. We ordered tiramisu- very lite with plenty of flavor you want in a tiramisu. Also a chocolate tort-extreme chocolate and thick-must be a chocolate lover. Personally, I would get the tort again bus share it, that's how thick and filling it is.
The servers were all friendly & professional - always there when you need them but never intrusive.
The place itself, we sat in the dining room, is beautifully modern style with old world photos.
Like I said, we have always loved coming here and each time we go we say we cant wait to return.
We brought 2 children with us and the waiter was very accommodating. Told us the chef could make them whatever they wanted—which was perfect. I had the scallops, which was probably one of the best scallops dish I’ve ever had!! Someone else in our party had the filet which was cooked perfectly. All in all it was one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time and will definitely be going back!!
I come here for the wild bore and parpadelle which has never disappointed. The branzino was just perfect, my husband loved his squash soup and the eggplant tower was definitely a shareable appetizer. The peppers and bread are the best ever. I could eat those with some nice house pinot noir that they have as my main food. We were too stuffed for dessert and actually had pasta left overs.
The grilled salads were creative and delicious. Our main course were artistically plated and cooked to our liking (steak). The wine tasted great and made for a festive birthday celebration. There were other occupied tables during our time at the restaurant which increased the noise level of the place. A suggestion might be to carpet the floors to cut down on the noise.
Food was good. Very noisy and we sat by the bar (that's where the hostess sat us) and we couldn't hear each other talk. Very cold in the restaurant and couldn't raise the heat since people were going in and out of the back bar and the door kept opening. Better time to go there is the summer and eat outdoors.
Noise level was bowling alley-esque.
Arrived 10 minutes prior to reservation and was seated 30 minutes after the reserved time.
Bartenders, see wait time, were very polished and professional as was the wait staff. Food above avergae but noise level was quite distracting.
I've been patronizing Macaroni's for many years and have always enjoyed the food. The only criticism I have is that this was the first time I made a reservation through open table, which did not give you the option for seating at the bar or in the dining room. When we arrived the hostess wanted to seat us in the bar area, which was not our preference so we had to wait an additional 1/2 hour for a table. I will not use open table again for that reason.
We came here for a low key bday dinner for my sister and had a fantastic dining experience. We were very impress with the quality of food and how professional and friendly the staffs were. This is definitely a wonderful place to dine and the food was delicious. We were so glad that we made RSVp and discover a new gem in our neighborhood. 😊😊😊 Thank you for a wonderful and memorable experience.
We ordered 2 filet mignon specials @ $45 a plate. Both steaks were undercooked and we had to flag down staff member to have sent back! They were returned charred on outside and still undercooked! I feel the quality of the food and service did not meet the price of the food!
I thought the food, dining experience and overall ambiance was top notch. I would highly recommend and I'm looking forward to a return trip. The bar and wait staff was friendly, knowledgeable and professional. No one hurried us through our meal. We didn't have someone hover over us trying to get us out quickly.
I have been doing to this restaurant for over 10 years. I made a reservation over a month ago. I show up no table is reserved for me. I am a great customer and felt I was pushed aside. My family was disappointed. I have been a returning customer but the reservation was not honored. I love the food but frankly I was was not happy. I feel you you should you owe an apology and a free meal. I spent a lot of money over the years and think we deserve this. How do you make a reservation over a month before dinner and you are knocked of the list. Serve was fantastic by the waiter's but the front desk needs to get it together. I have recommended this restaurant over the years to my friend and business associates. will wait for your reply.
Our food was delicious. Everything is freshly prepared and presented beautifully. The bread and roasted peppers are a meal in itself, and the eggplant stacks.... I’m still thinking about them. The place is beautiful and it’s very easy to forget that you are in Northeast Philadelphia. Above everything though, is the service. The servers are polite, friendly, and professional. The staff work together so well that you want for nothing. In particular, staff named Nicole was helpful and accommodating, even offering a candle for my husband’s dessert because she overheard that it was his birthday. This place is amazing.
The most important thing about a restaurant is that the description of the food on the menu should match what is actually brought out to the customer. The sausage/spinach (now Escarole)/beans antipasti is not supposed to be a spicy hot dish. It never was. The description has not changed; however, this time it was loaded with red hot pepper flakes. I cannot eat spicy foods as I have a throat problem. The waiter kindly said he would send it back and it would be prepared without hot spices. When it came back I still found some pepper flakes in it. Was the cook being nasty to a customer? Throwing a tantrum? The chef should not be adding extra ingredients to a dish that is not supposed to be spicy. Very disappointed in the chef. The wait staff is awesome.
Hostess was rude. Place was empty and we were given the worst seat in the place and waited a solid hour for entrees. Food was not great. One of us got an upset stomach and the other meal was not done correctly. However, the waiters/service was great. The atmosphere /decor was great.
