Macarena Tapas is a casual Spanish eatery that serves both traditional as well as innovative contemporary dishes. The restaurant has an intimate ambiance that makes it a great place for a romantic date or a relaxed dinner. Owner and Chef John Borras is particular about using high-quality ingredients to serve guests the best of Spanish flavors. Macarena Tapas also features a full-service bar. The menu at Macarena Tapas features a wide range of both cold and hot tapas. Popular cold tapas dishes include garlic potato salad, classic Spanish marinated scallop and shrimp salad and a platter of cured Serrano ham, sausage, Manchengo cheese and olives. Some of the recommended hot tapas selections include classic Spanish-style meatballs with tomato sauce and artisan white cheese, mussels in a spicy tomato-based sauce and crab cakes topped with Asian coleslaw and paprika aioli sauce.

    Wonderful dining experience. Don't be fooled by the outdoor appearance as the restaurant is located in a small strip mall. It is very intimate and, on this night, (Tuesday) very quiet as there weren't many customers. Our waitress was outstanding, very knowledgeable regarding the menu and provided great guidance and suggestions. The food was absolutely delicious though portion sizes were a bit on the small side. All in all a good value, but not a great value. I highly recommend this neighborhood gem. We've been there many times and always been delighted with the service and food.

    Went there for our anniversary. We would go just for the service. The fact that the food is spectacular is icing on the cake. We had the seafood paella for the first time. Absolutely delicious!

    Date night and a wonderful time at Macarena Tapas. All vegetarian meal quite easy to pull off. Marisol was a wonderful host for our meal. Patatas bravas we’re exceptional with a great kick from the peppers added to the sauce. The salad of artichokes red pepper pears walnuts and bleu cheese was absolutely a shoe stopper. The croquettas de queso cabra made a wonderful close to the evening. Delicious priorat red wine accompanied the meal. Appreciate Chef Boras visiting the table. Very highly recommended.

    An absolutely amazing ending of tapas and beverages. Elvina was a wonderful waitress. The service was so friendly and welcoming. We had multiple tapas and all were outstanding. Loved the dates with bacon, empanadas, bombas, albondigas. The cheese cake dessert was amazing. We will definitely return!!! Also the gin cocktails were great.

    This was our first visit in awhile, and we were really surprised at the change in value for money. The portions seem to have decreased considerably, while the prices have most definitely increased. The drink prices seemed outrageous, so we largely skipped alcohol. The one glass of wine we did order was not at all a generous or even a standard pour for $15. Our order of bacon-wrapped dates, one of our stand-by faves, featured the smallest dates we had ever seen. The chips with manchego and ham seemed to be a serving of bagged potato chips with a few slices of Spanish ham and the equivalent of 1 slice of manchego cheese cut into 4 strips…for $23. Even with the 20% off tapas promotion offered at the time, and the typical outstanding service, we left feeling considerably disappointed in our experience and like we had overpaid for the experience. We are sad because this used to be one of our favorites, but based on this experience, we cannot see ourselves returning any time soon.

    This restaurant required a credit card in order to make a reservation and reservations are "highly recommended." I found that off-putting, but I did it anyway. When we got there the hostess/waitress asked us to scan a QR code that was stuck to their window in order to see the menu. I had not brought my cell phone and asked for a printed menu. They don't have printed menus! I found that off-putting too. Strike two. The only people in the restaurant were two guys at the bar and a couple at a table, so the reservation was totally unnecessary. We had two tapas plates, the seafood paella, a cocktail and a glass of wine. The bill was over $130. The food was good, the presentation was nice but it was REALLY overpriced. The whole place seemed kind of sad and desperate. It was our anniversary. I left feeling disappointed and cheated. Will not be back.

    This is my second time there and I'll be back for a 3rd. It's a really great restaurant with a great staff. All the food is delicious and well made. Very happy to have such a good Tapas place in the area.

    I haven’t been to Macarena in a few months and was very pleasantly surprised that the food is the best it has ever been here. Chef Borros has turned things up a notch with new dishes like calamares de la plancha with a lemon and olive sauce, chips with aged Manchego and Serrano ham (made with Torres chips which are amazing) leading the way.

    Simply EXCELLENT! Food is fantastic. The paella is perfect, the octopus is delicious, the tortilla is out of this world. The stake is awesome. Great wine cellar. Desserts are fabulous. Service is pristine.

    Had an amazing time, from our waitress to our food!!! Everything was amazing!! Great time !!! Great atmosphere!!! Will definitely come back again!! We celebrated our 3 year anniversary there !!
