The food and cocktails were really good. I loved the baby back char siu and octopus!
The server was really nice. She helped us move to another table when another guest was being too loud that I could not hear my conversation with my friend.
New discovery and we’ll be back!!! Great ambiance and yummy food. The staff is so attentive with great food suggestions.
Had a lovely time, very attentive staff and the food was amazing.
Good food and service. The club downstairs was bit of a disappointment when people stole our drinks
Food wasn’t as great as I thought, mushroom balls felt like came out from the freezer. But cocktails are really good , very tasty.
The staff was attentive at all times with subtle charm mixed with professionalism. The food was superb. Couldn't order all I wanted to try which is a testament to the variety of items to choose from. Highly recommend the dumplings and fried rice!
The waiter was incredibly rude. Seemed irritated with every question and couldn’t be bothered with anything. Will not be going there ever again!
I have been here numerous times and plan to return. Excellent scallops and ravioli!
The best thing about Macao is the superb Waite service.
We have been to Macao several times. In fact it is part of our “routine” ‘haunts’. The food is amazing we always order a double order of the dumplings and almost always end up a second order of the fried rice and lobster noodles. The cocktails are great. However, we are always “surprised” at how expensive it is when we get the bill at Macao. Just be prepared for your get what you pay for’ especially when introducing people to this restaurant did the first time.
First time dining here and were really impressed with service, atmosphere and the food.
It is on the pricier side but it is well worth the price.
Fun trip to the far east while in Manhattan. Enjoyed the spice combinations in the food and drinks.
Amazing food and service. The BBQ ribs appetizer is to die for!
Great experience, beautiful place, very busy service but the food was fabulous. Would come back
We had a great time on New Years Eve! Solid food great music and a fun crowd! Would come back again!
We were a party of 8 for New Year's eve. The vibe, the food, the service, the decor and the music were all a 10.
Cannot wait to go back!!
We dined on NYE and went with the prix fixe menu.
Pros: good cocktails, ambience
Cons: everything about the dinner service
We spent 2.5 hours there for a 4- course meal. It took a minimum 30 minutes in between courses. This is unacceptable- especially on NYE when you’re supposed to be prepared to handle the volume of customers. Service was incredibly slow and disjointed. Server apologized and tried to make amends by offering us a 1/4 shot of well tequila while we waited.
This was a very expensive meal at $135 p/p plus an automatic 20% gratuity. Two rounds of drinks plus tax and tip pushed this bill for 2 people over $400. The food was good not great. Poor experience overall - the ambience is awesome and I had high expectations but I won’t dine here again after this experience.
Great restaurant tucked away. The crispy fish was fantastic, as was the short ribs. The octopus starter is highly recommended. The drinks are on the pricey side but its to be expected. Good for groups.
Overly hyped. Nothing good. Food terrible. Service rude.
It’s been a few years since I’ve been to Macao Trading Co and it was so good! I had the lobster noodles which were perfection! The music and ambiance were just as I remembered. Around 11:30 people started to dance and the music was amazing! The bathrooms are gross though so beware.
Loved it! The drinks are spectacular. Food was excellent.
Delicious food and drinks!
Delicious food, exquisite cocktails. My hostess was wonderful, great energy and was very attentive with requests.
Always a great night at Macao with crafted cocktails and good food!
Went with our 6 yr old. While we liked the food, the African pork poring chicken and the Macanese lobster were fantastic, as was the eggplant, pie 6yr oof had the fried chicken & port dumplings and got very sick a couple of hours later from it. Not sure if it was a bad batch, as the adults did not try the dumplings. Maybe not for kids?
Celebration of friendship
We went for dinner on a Friday and were quite impressed by the decor style and the dark lighting however when we sit at the table noticed it was quite dark even to read the menu, which btw was quite short in term of options. The food was good but yet not super impressive and the worse was the noise level which make difficult to keep a normal conversation. Overall a good place to be with friends or so but not for special occasions.
it is to commercial, they try to get as many rounds possible on a hugh amount of tablels fro the room. Oysters were realy bad; all in all by far not worth it.
The food was great. The atmosphere was good. The service was poor.
Great restaurant. Great service, vibrant atmosphere, clean, and professional. My only qualm is that the prices are a bit high, especially for their mixed drinks...$17 for a watered down mixed drink :-(
The lobster noodles and cocktails are to die for ! The rest is ok
Fun and tasty. We went in not knowing what we were going to experience and we were certainly pleasantly surprised
One of our neighborhood favorites! Unique and delicious food with cool ambience and great service.
The restaurant was nice and good service, however the food was lacking any sort of taste. It looked good in presentation but fell extremely short when you ate it.
Went here for dinner with a friend. It has a fun vibe and the food was delicious. I read other reviews saying it was overpriced but we ordered 2 appetizers, fried rice, a salad and 2 drinks and it was filling and came out to about $100 pre-tip. The food was good and to me, the prices are standard for a trendy NYC restaurant. I would go back!
It took 20 minutes to get chicken and it was covered in sause that I don’t like same as the ribs. The waiter asked everyone for the drink except for me this was very pricy and the food was bad this turned out to not be a special occasion as it was supposed to be and it was very noisy . This is I don’t recommend this place
I live around the corner and apparently this place is a hidden gem I had never heard of before - now that I know I will DEFINITELY be back. The food was unique and delicious, as were the drinks. The place has a great ambience too and even a bar downstairs to transition from dinner to your Saturday night out.
The appetizers were the star of the show. The entrées were pricey and smallish. Great place for cocktails and nibbles. Too loud for serious conversation in the dining room.
A gem. Terrific service and food, awesome interior space
