Macao Trading Co. covers two floors offering both a spacious dining room upstairs and an intimate lounge downstairs. During the current climate, an outdoor space has been added to accommodate guests. The cuisine represents the blend of Chinese and Portuguese cuisines found in the once independent colony of its namesake. Located on Church St, at the edge of Tribeca, Macao’s décor is a dramatic composition of lighting, relics and industrial iron work. The high ceilings and tucked away location provide a fitting setting for the restaurant’s 1940s portside warehouse feel, recalling the adventure of Macao’s "red lantern district."

Always like the service and ambience at Macao. This last visit, the food - especially the usually delicious dumplings - were not as good as on previous occasions. Hope it was a just a one-time fluke.

Kenny was amazing and super helpfull and kind! He was definitely part of the reason we loved the place so much. We feel like this is our favorite restaurant in the city. 10/10 would recommend :) You have to tey the truffle bites!

We had the best time ! Macao has been on our radar for a while and we finally went while we had people visiting for the weekend and it did not disappoint! The ambience is awesome - exactly the type of spot you want to be at on a chilly Fall night - cozy but really cool. Our waitress was amazing - so friendly, offered good recommendations and wasn't pushy when we asked if we were ordering too much or not enough food. The fried chicken/pork dumplings are incredible and a must-order, along w/ the Hoisin Noodles. We will definitely be back soon, even just for the bar because that is also a great vibe & they have a fun cocktail menu. Highly recommend!

Sat at the bar with my sister. We split the chicken & pork dumplings and the one of the noodle dishes. Every bite was amazing!!! Great service and the ambiance was also perfect. Dark and cozy with a lively crowd and bartenders. Will be going back soon!

I had the octopus and fried vegetables, both of which were delicious. The hostess was welcoming and the waitress was attentive, but not intrusive. The manager took time to visit the guests and inquire their experience. Overall, it was an enjoyable evening.

Had the opportunity to visit Macao on a Saturday evening at 9P reservation. The location is dimly lit and the decor was unique. The service was off and on as when it got busy it service was quite poor. The food we got was the fried fish and African chicken. It came out quick however the fish was very bland. The chicken was dry. It was also very load and we found ourselves having to yell across the table. Overall, would not return.
