This is my 3rd time at this restaurant. Price point is reasonable for Tribeca; friendly staff but they don't do anything special for birthdays...understandable and not a deal breaker.
Will still come back and would still recommended.
Really tasty food, a little expensive for the amount per plate but overall all dishes ordered were quite delicious
Super fun atmosphere, amazing music, great food and attention to us food allergy sufferers. All around good vibes on a Saturday night!
The food was outstanding and so was the customer service! I worried at first because I'm not used to looking at menus that change from season to season but the food came out perfect with a mixture of different spices made it so worth it.
Good food, drinks on point, great bartenders!
The food is delicious, but the portion is just too bleak. For instance, the octopus takes two bites and it’s already $18! the lobester noodle in the small bowl takes about 5 bites to finish but it’s $44!! OpenTable should update the price tag for this restaurant to at least 3 $ instead of 2, which simply is just misleading.
New Years was amazing!!!
Food is good, drinks are the star of the show. Service is excellent. Had the shrimp dumplings and mussels for appetizer, they were excellent. For mains the lobster noodles and wagyu steak. Bother were just good. Our waiter was excellent. HIGHLY recommend the Flying Solo cocktail!
I recently discovered Macao as my new go-to! I threw a graduation night out for my boyfriend and made a reservation for the downstairs area (perfect night out vibe) Our waiter was amazing, I unfortunately was that annoying customer and just had a list of wants and this spot was more than willing to accommodate.
The food was the perfect taste and the perfect portion for a night out.
The drinks? Literally ask for anything and these gentlemen behind the bar will make it taste even better.
Music? Pop 2000s remixed with some r&b. Danced the night away!
I had about 20 people come out for this night out and not one person was disappointed. So, thank you Macao. Thank you for such a fun memorable night.
Check this place out and make it your new "go-to" like me! (you will def not be disappointed)
Love the space and the food. A little pricey but a great vibe.
Great food, excellent cocktails
Amazing! The food was so outstanding! The only thing I could say is I wish they acknowledged my husbands birthday! Other than seriously food was so good! I recommend!
Basement seats are less desirable than main floor except for the sole seats upstairs. Basement is loud with short ceiling.
They changed their menu, I’m not into it. We had the big boat stew thing to share, what an utter disappointment. Vibe and cocktails were awesome as always.
Service was perfectly catered to our needs. Food and drinks were great.
Went for my birthday service and experience was great thank you to the team!
African chicken wasn’t so good. Whole fish Was excellent. Drinks were creative and tasty. Would return. Lovely setting and excellent staff.
This was the 2nd time I've gone here. The food is delicious and for the most part the service is good. They have great cocktails. Definitely recommend. Great place for a date.
The food was excellent. The noise level was so loud our table of 4 could not have any conversations. We were moved to the basement and that was no better and the service down there was mediocre. Waitress said she could not split our tab two ways. Odd. Speaking with the manager after the fact he couldn’t understand why our waitress had said that. Way too loud and crowded for an enjoyable dinner. Especially at that price point. Won’t be back
Was expecting more Asian food, but the plates were good anyway. Upstairs room is way nicer than downstairs.
I reserved a table to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday. The staff was great. Food was great, however we ended up sick shortly after. I asked to get a cake with a candle and waited for about 30 minutes to not find out anything until I paid for the bill, which was annoying. However we had a great time none the less. Its unfortunate we all got sick.
Really enjoyable. Good food. Great aesthetic.
Incredible noisy. The food was average at best and the drinks tiny. We sat on speaker that was also a seat. It was vibrating like crazy and the noise level around us was impossibly loud. Asked to move but no seats, except the restaurant had plenty of empty seats. Just not worth it when there are so many better places around.
It's definitely a bit pricey but totally affordable! Really really like the Eastern vibe decoration and the dumplings.
Absolutely beautiful atmospheric bar and restaurant interior. Service was fine. Food was alright but quality was not matched by the price. Especially since there are so many incredible Asian fusion places in the city. I would come back here for drinks but not dinner.
Had a great experience as always ! From the minute you walk-in until the end of the night. The best in its class !!
Service is terrible, our waiter was not helpful and always seemed annoyed when we asked questions and placed orders for food and drinks. Unfortunately gratuity is included on the bill. Will not come back
Not worth going, very rude hosts
The ambience and food are wonderful. A little out of the way, but that’s part of the adventure. The only reason i’m not giving 5 stars across the board is because the bathrooms are horrible. The food is really great though.
Great but noisy
Ambiance, terrific Asian Fusion fare, Dandy Wellington band. Excellent!
I lived in Hong Kong for 8 years and visited Macao about 30 times. There is nothing about the menu that evokes Macao. That's OK but the service was about as bad as it can get. Our server was drinking in full view. That's ok too but it was about 8:30 pm. The manager did comp us on two desserts because he recognized the problem which was appreciated. Food was OK but expensive. The $110 Taipa Steamboat "for the table" was essentially a paella with Thai rice flavored with green. Should have been about $50 even in New York.
Loved our dinner and the server was so warm and friendly. Only complaint was it was very dark going down the stairs to be seated. Otherwise truly enjoyed the experience.
The food was very creative and very satisfying. Our main server was very professionally and knowledgeable. However, at the end of our meal, our main server had left and we had to wait a long time to find our server for the check. The music, every exciting, but hard to have a conversation.
Not worth the price. Lobster noodles for $42 with two small tails and over spiced, no thanks.... smarmy host and hostess contributed to the disappointment
Ambience excellent, like a movie set..very cozy..good albeit expensive and still small-ish drinks..went there for birthday because we liked the drinks before and also the option downstairs(after 11:00)for dancing..however the real letdown was the food..really overprized and actually not well executed..I am surprised they continue to get away with it..go for drinks for the ambiente and move on to proper food in the neighborhood..come back for dancing later..
Food not worth it. It’s good but way too expensive for what it is.
Interesting menu and nicely designed interior. Our food was well-prepared and the prices were high, but to be expected for the location and the overall "experience". What I didn't like was my $18 drink which was basically a shot plus some bitters and other flavors in an 8 ounce glass filled with crushed ice. Spare me the hand-crafted excuse for the price. Go to NOLA. Great drinks wherever you go at half the price. Also, the service dramatically fell off after we received our main courses. We were her only table. I went looking for her after we sat with dirty dishes for a good 20 minutes. I found her a few tables away sitting with the host on her phone doing God knows what. Slow night? At least set a timer to remind you to get up and check your tables.
A very creative place with a historical concept! Great food and great cocktails! Service was really good!
Food was great, drinks not so much. They also use a bunch of different unique alcohol flavors and ingredients to Make the drinks different. It was a big fail, there were just too much going on in the drinks.
