Tasty familiar food !

Macao is the best place in TriBeCa !!! We are regulars and live nearby so we are thrilled you’re still here and we can come back!! Thank you for your consistency, excellent quality of food, and stellar waitstaff - primo dining experience. Our waiter was especially efficient kind and on top of all of our needs... especially my 4yr old.

We came here pre-pandemic for happy hour cocktails, we had a great time at that time and I made a mental note to come back for dinner. So that night was last night.

They only cater for 50% capacity and also offer outdoor dining. They do contact tracing and temperature checks. The waitstaff sat us for the table for 4 even if we are just dining for two (we thought that was a nice touch, we appreciated that).

We started with shrimp and pork steamed dumplings with our favorite alcoholic beverages. Nothing special with the dumplings if ever we probably had a better one elsewhere.

For our main entree, we ordered char siu bbq back ribs (which is listed as an appetizer), bacon and shrimp fried rice and crispy whole fish served with wok-fried coriander long beans.

As soon as the fish was served our waitstaff started removing the middle bones at the table making it easy for us to navigate on the dish (that was another nice touch).

The dishes complemented each other, it was so flavorful and perfect for a couple. This is one of those restaurant dinners that blew us away.

We both had a great time dining, thanks to the wonderful staff with awesome customer service and good food, this place is a must if you happen to be in NYC!

Cool vibe, good food and drinks, friends/date, maybe too loud for parents

Their menu & cocktail drinks are exceptional, top shelf bar is extensive with a plethora of options. Great place for date night or a special occasion. Ambience was wonderful vibe as well. Thank you for an amazing night.

I'll be back! Every single thing on the menu is divine and the cocktails — oh my god, the COCKTAILS — went down a little too easy haha! This is my new go to spot for a date or girls dinner

The kurv was leaving so we had to celebrate! The hostess was nice we made her laugh a lot. Food and the drinks were amazing! To start off we had the shrimp and scallion dumplings. Our entrees included the skirt steak and lobster noodles. We finished it off with the coconut Panna cotta (dairy free which is a plus). The waiter Dan was very attentative and made us feel like we’ve known him forever! He definitely made our first experience at Macao one to remember.

Amazing food, great service

We ate outside on a cold rainy evening. It was cozy and warm and nicely decorated. All our entrees and appetizers and drinks were delicious and service was perfect. Not too much bust just at the right times. This was my fourth time there and it’s always been perfect. One of my favorite restaurants And all the people I’ve brought have felt the same.

Stacey was a pleasant and fun waitress. Wine etiquette could be improved, food was amazing, dessert was delicious. Ambiance was fun, very cool, nice vibe for date night, friend get togethers. Support staff was super attentive. Great Covid protocols being enforced, and followed, felt safe and comfortable.

Overall great experience, great staff, positive experience even with covid regulations.

Service was poor, they forgot our dinner order and it took 1.5hr to get it. Then it took them 30 min just to get our check

Macao has the most wonderful staff in the city. The food is fantastic, the drinks are beyond- something you should experience for yourself. Having just re-opened after a brief hiatus it was truly a pleasure to see their lovey familiar faces. Amy, Damiano, Dinel and the rest of the staff deserve all the accolades for working their behinds off to make sure everything’s running smoothly and that you can have the closest thing to a normal dining experience (while still maintaining all safety precautions). Macao is a gem but what truly makes it so is the stellar staff.

Macao is my old stomping ground. This restaurant has got so much character and charm. I love this place. I can't wait till it fully reopens. And our server Donnie was fantastic!

Tried virtually every cocktail on their "Fancy Cocktails" section and loved each one. Food was incredible and they were very accommodating of dietary restrictions.

Macao is able to maintain its good vibes, relaxed service and good food from a limited menu in those difficult times, while having built a beautiful covered terrace outside and a spacious dining experience inside. Great cocktails! The crispy fish delizzz. Can’t wait for the bar/speakeasy to open again! We had a great evening.

I love this restaurant ! The service is great, all of the food is delicious and the cocktails are so amazing and creative! Damiano and his Bar team have such amazing talent!!! This is a go-to restaurant that never disappoints:)

This was an average place for over expensive food.

The overall experience was terrible the service was bad they put our food on someone else’s table and tried to serve it to us, everything took a long time I had to go get the manager and sever several times to get service, wouldn’t go back, the fish was really good aside from everything else.

The food and service were amazing. We will be back for more great dining experiences in the future. Highly recommend: Macanese Lobster Noodles.

Place has decent food but over priced. Waitstaff were friendly and did a great job.

Italian bartender is bizarrely aggressive and rude.

No patio heaters so expect to be pretty cold.

This restaurant never disappoints. The food , the drinks, the service, the ambiance are excellent. We had a problem with one of our appetizers and it get fixed right away and on top of that we did not get charged for that item. I think they were very kind for doing that, you don't have too many places which do that in NYC. I highly recommend Macao. I hope it survives the pandemic, I am sad of losing so many good places in NYC.

Really cozy chic interior, dimly lit, loud but typical and lively. Their temp outdoor area is nice too. Love it!

Some of the best food in Tribeca and the best ambience. Neighborhood gem, glad it’s back open.

Great vibe, outdoor dining was fun. Service was great, cocktails tasty. Food was okay. Small portions, expensive and the fried dumplings weren’t good (deep fried not pan fried)

My husband and I first met at this restaurant 11 years ago, and we’ve come back for dinner every September 19 since then. It is consistently delicious with a lovely atmosphere, and the service this year was especially excellent. We look forward to our next visit!

It was freezing

The food and cocktails were really good. I loved the baby back char siu and octopus!

The server was really nice. She helped us move to another table when another guest was being too loud that I could not hear my conversation with my friend.

Food wasn’t as great as I thought, mushroom balls felt like came out from the freezer. But cocktails are really good , very tasty.

The staff was attentive at all times with subtle charm mixed with professionalism. The food was superb. Couldn't order all I wanted to try which is a testament to the variety of items to choose from. Highly recommend the dumplings and fried rice!
