A Tribeca keeper!
One of my favorite restaurants & this year I picked it for my Birthday dinner. I live on the UWS and took the subway but all trains were stopped because of an accident at Times Square. We had to get off and rush to get a cab. Couldn’t find any cabs or Uber’s less than $100. The restaurant was amazing and held the table for 50 mins until we got there. Amazing service and so grateful that they were so accommodating.
Had an amazing time thanks to the wonderful staff, great music and drinks. Very crowded and loud, but still managed to dance and have a great time with friends.
It took them 30 minutes to seat us, despite having a reservation. It was impossible to attract the attention of the waiter or hear one another over dinner, and to top it all off they lost our coat in the check room which took 40 minutes to negotiate access and find.
The food and drinks were incredible!
Our server at the table was great (5 star to her) but this 1 star is to guy at the door. He was not friendly at all. At one point I got confused who the customer is!
Loved the food!! Flavorful and delicious. Service was amazing. Great place to take visiting friends or celebrating!
Phenomenal!!! the food is outrageously good. the atmosphere is perfectly cozy, sexy, exotic and warm. but the staff, the staff are the best. A plus all around - front of house, servers, bus boys, everyone. they create a great energy. a restaurant with a soul and personality, all because of their team. bravo Macao for casting such a wonderful group.
Bathrooms are disgusting
I hadn’t been before but it was my best friends favorite place to go in the city. It did not disappoint. I will definitely be going back. The service was exceptional and food was delicious. Very cool spot.
Awesome great. Lovely crowd. Drinks are fabulous.
We had such a great time! Food was delicious and drinks also. The service was the best, for sure coming back to this place the crab noddles are amazing.
The drink we wanted was unavailable. The service was a tad bit slow. Our food came before our drinks although we ordered the drinks first.
African Chicken Bites cooked to perfection. The dumplings are also a home run and the vegetable fried rice perfectly made.
The SERVICE!!! Unique was so hospitable and kind; his promptness coupled with the ambiance and the food makes Macao Trading Co. my go to in Tribeca. Excellent job.
One of NYCs greatest gems
Great food and vibe! Will definitely go back! The drinks were a little weak
Absolutely delicious, innovative flavors for both drinks and food dishes. Immaculate intimate vibes and decor.
I love Macao. Always amazing. I took another friend here for the first time and they enjoyed it as well.
Our table was not clean when we arrived. The octopus seemed a bit over-charred and the peanut chicken was greasy and lacked good flavor. The dragons milk cocktail, however was good.
Croquettes and Ribs are my fav! awesome place - great service.
Birthday dinner. Food was sensational. Great cocktails too!
Very fun. Cocktails a little sweet
Incredible food every single meal. This is my favorite restaurant in the neighborhood.
I was racially profiled at this restaurant and followed to the atm after the manager told me their credit card machine was done. No one else was followed. The manager then stood at the atm to watch me take out money. I was then told to give the manager money inside of a random corner store. This was incredibly hurtful and disgusting behavior.
Beautiful setting outdoors and in -- one of the best and most unique interiors -- plus thoughtful, attentive service and delicious food. We come back every year on the anniversary of us meeting for the first time at Macao Trading Co., and it's fabulous every time.
It was my daughter’s 15th birthday and we have a tradition of lobster on her birthday. She loved the lobster noodles! Happy Dad!
The food was exceptional and the ambiance was so cool
A bit pricey, but everything was delicious.
Always great food and good service
This has been a favorite of ours for many years and it never disappoints! From the cool build out (which looks like a trading company) to the always consistent and fabulous food to the impeccable service. Try it!
Tried contacting your restaurant via instagram to explain an incident that occurred and I have yet to even get a courteous “thank you for reaching out” response.
Everything was cold, the coconut rice was not cooked properly and the African chicken was tasteless. There’s very little attention paid to the food.
Adding insult to injury, our receipt included 7 beers, a fried rice and two other entrees we did not order. They fixed it and were apologetic about the $150 error.
It was just as I remembered since I was last there before Pandemics. Food was excellent and good atmosphere for friends to gather. (^_^)
Good food and drinks. Pricey as per usual in NYC.
Great food, great ambience, great service. A little pricey.
Ambiance, food and service were outstanding!!! A must!!!
In all the items that stole the show were the drinks. They are inventive, lots of flavor and are a nice spin on the traditional tiki drinks.
After that both of us can’t say much more then that. The food is lack luster with very little flavor. The one highlight of all the food for me was the sauce used for the whole fried fish. It had a good spice and vinegar flavor to it which was great for the fish. Otherwise the African chicken was luke warm, no Piri Piri flavor with a really bad cold slaw. And what tasted like a peanut sauce someone poured out of the jar and dumped on it. The Octopus didn’t have much flavor as I was hoping from the black vinegar. And the dumplings lacked the flavor as well. We opted out of dessert simply based on the courses we had already.
The server was extremely friendly and upbeat and always had a smile on her face. The entire place just comes across as a really bad themed restaurant you would find in Walt Disney World. It seems to be they wanted to avoid saying they were another Chinese restaurant by saying it was a fusion with Portuguese cuisine. But if you look at the menu the amount of Portuguese based/inspired items are lacking.
I’ve been here on dates and for drinks with friends. Everything I’ve tasted has been really good!! The African chicken is one of my favorites… the mushroom truffle croquettes are wonderful and the dumplings are delicious… definitely one of my favorite spots
Very good food and dinner experience.
My favorite restaurant in NYC. Always have the best time here 💕
