M St Cafe is my very favorite brunch outing, for Mother's Day, Father's Day, Birthday or just because.
I brought my family here for Father's Day. I had never been and it was a wonderful experience. The waitress was absolutely lovely and very attentive even though we did the Brunch. My kids loved her and it was nice that there was no charge for kids under 4. That was very unexpected but appreciated non the less.
Nice variety of both breakfast and lunch food. Wait staff was attentive. Hot food was hot and cold food was cold, not always true at a brunch.
Celebrating with lunch at M Street for my best friend's birthday was so enjoyable, we were there for over two hours discussing all sorts of things. Because it was a birthday lunch, our wonderful server brought a chocolate brownie blessed with ice cream and two spoons. Our food was exceptionally delicious and lovely to look at. This is THE place to be for the best of the best in everything a restaurant has to offer. Both of us were very grateful.
Server was engaged, friendly and energetic. The french toast was great and the creme brulee bananas served with it were really tasty and special. Hashbrowns had a crunchy exterior that I liked, and when split with a fork, they held together. No wayward hashbrowns! Coffee had a robust flavor for a decaf, and was fresh. My guest enjoyed the Swedish Pancakes, and commended the approach, saying they were really yummy. Bring a jacket or sweater, it was overly cool which brought slight discomfort. We will be back for Sunday brunch!
Great anniversary breakfast! Absolutely amazing! Highly recommend!
Server was excellent. Food was very good. I am gluten free and things were clearly marked EXCEPT desserts. After hunting someone down I discovered there was only one gluten free dessert. For a buffet this pricey I would expect at least a couple, clearly marked choices.
CAFE M is my go-to place to feast with family and friends for celebratory Brunch/Lunch. The food stations and all its choices are beautifully presented and refreshed constantly. Desserts are fabulous and different . Every thing has great eye appeal. Yum!
The Sunday Brunch was wonderful. The Omelets were made just for you!! The Waffles were also great. Great selection
Florence was excellent as usual!
This is the second time I have been here. Both times have been lovely. This time I bit into a bad shrimp and had to spit it out. But 1 bad shrimp out of 7 isn't bad. The manager took 1 coffee and 1 orange juice off the bill for it. Not necessary but very nice of her. Waitress was new but very friendly and accommodating. I will definitely patronize your establishment again.
Always special food and great waitstaff. This is my preferred location for workplace celebrations.
The food was fine, nothing particularly creative. The service was very good. The noise level was irritating. The valet parking was excellent. They were very attentive and helpful to my 89 year old companion, which I very much appreciated
M St Cafe is my favorite St. Paul Brunch restaurant. Outstanding foods stations and presentation is perfect.
Food and variety of food excellent. Servers all pleasant and friendly. Not intrusive. Desserts decadent and delicious.
Great waffles. Omelette are excellent. The Easter brunch chocolate fountain on the dessert table was a big hit.
We had brunch at M St. on Sunday, March 25 for my mother-in-law's 75th birthday. She was over the moon! Everything about it was PERFECT. The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly (not pretentious) and we all loved that it wasn't a noisy place. We could eat and talk quietly and hear each other.
The food was DIVINE.
The servers were attentive, kind, and friendly.
Don't miss this place!
Was very pleased with the online reservations. We had a time constraint and the service was such that we actually had time to spare.
My fiance has been coming here for many many years and I myself for 7 years. We have been going and we sit with Florence and she is absolutely amazing. Like family. Then the past 4 months we have been going a little less because of our choice but also the hostess is NOT the sweetest person. She approached us about our son and his friend who is 5 by the way laughing and playing a little loud and told us that we had to make them be quiet and basically sit there and not laugh a little loud. We have been there many many times with our son and yes both were a little loud however we were getting them and addressing it and then have Barb say they don't allow this.... ugh I wanted to smack her. We have never been approached like that there. Now it is where I called 4 days ago pertaing to reservations and didn't receive a call back and we go in today and they said they don't understand why and they are sorry. Needless to say when you have a poor hostess with a poor attitude and take things personally and continues with a grudge it is means for bad business. Yes we did complain but this is only 2 of a hand full of times we have had issues with getting her or questions answered from this lady. They need their old hostess/host team back. We loved them. So friendly.
Grandparents were in town and we wanted a nice Sunday brunch to cap off our weekend. We were a group of 4 adults and 2 kids.
The food was wonderful, well prepared and inviting. Our server, Florence, made us feel so welcome and loved. She anticipated anything we might need or want and she even gave us all hugs on the way out! She is truly a gem. The restaurant is casual, yet everything was presented elegantly.
We will definitely be returning for brunch, however I am excited to try lunch and dinner as well. We all highly recommend M ST. Cafe!
The food and service was terrific! Restaurant week was a great way to check out this cafe. We really enjoyed the ambiance and location.
I've eaten many times @ the M Street Cafe & love their variety & tasty choice of foods. The whole staff are very pleasant & accommodating. Each time that I've eaten there, I've never been disappointed. Best food around town. If you like variety, then this is the place for you. I'm happy that I was introduced to this fabulous place. Keep up the good work!!!
This was my second time eating at the M Street Cafe. I made reservations here during Restaurant Week. I like the atmosphere and you can engage in a conversation without raising your voice. The service was excellent and my Seared Crab Cake salad was very good. The Molten Brownie that was included was too rich for me and not something I would order again.
We had great, friendly service and some delicious omelettes. I was particularly fond of the apple and brie omelette. Kept the coffee full.
Real nice place. I like the ambiance and floor layout. The host was a cool guy, He had a nice Watch also. Ima be there again soon..
One of my favorite breakfast Buffets for the quality of the food. Today the desert selection was only OK and terms of taste and we needed to ask for bagels to go with the cream cheese and lox that were sent out. Just know that orange juice or any beverage does not come with your meal. I still like it but it is not a 10
We were celebrating my friends 78th birthday. She felt pampered by the fabulous wait staff and so enjoyed the little extras. We all loved the food and the general ambiance. Thank for making this special day extra special.
Overall a positive experience. Struggled with our server who seemed to be working on quantity of tables she could turn over versus quality of service. She funished our sentences when ordering, rushed us through the meal after bringing incorrect items. Frustrated that a meal came with 2 large pieces of toast. When gluten free toast was substitited, it was ridiculously small, unbuttered and uncharged $2.95. The food was very good, even if it was not what we wanted.
Always wonderful service. Greeted by Todd, and Rebecca has our drinks ready for us. Food was wonderful. Thanks.
Good food and quick service. The coat check is a nice option for those not staying in the hotel - especially in winter in Minnesota!
Great New Year's Day brunch experience. Our fifth year.
Primary issue was there should have been one more server for the New Year Day brunch. The waiting time for the prime rib was running very slow. We were a group of ten but could not get seating together even with us setting up the reservations back in September.
Was looking for a brunch location before a matinee at the Ordway. Found their brunch menu online, and the buffet option offered something for everyone in my group, including a picky teenager. We loved it. The food and service were excellent, and we were able to carry on a conversation because the sound level was conducive. We will definitely go there again. The tomato bisque was amazing, and the cold buffet was beautiful and delicious. Even the desserts were good, and I am not often impressed by restaurant desserts.
We had a great time at the M Street Cafe! Great food, and wonderful service.
We have been attendng this brunch for several years and although good for the most part, it’s the same menu every time. Suggestions are to start serving organic food, more gluten free options without charging the customer higher rates for gluten-free bread and turkey sausage, which is ridiculous, also serving a general beverage with the meal complementary. For my husband and I that are gluten-free and don’t eat red meat, this is very expensive. We get a better breakfast at the Downtowner on Seventh Street for a fraction of the price.
Nice service, reservations online convenient. Waitress slightly distracted but still left a great tip because I am a nice guy!
The buffet menu and offerings were disappointing. I would recommend that before ordering it that people check to see what is on offer.
The menu items are much better, according to one of my fellow diners.
The mimosa was sub-par.
We went for Christmas Brunch. The setting was very festive. The 22 stations were amazing. However, the food was a bit uneven. The roast beef was very tough. On the other hand, the cream of onion bisque was delicious, as were the waffles with apple and currant sauce and whipped cream, the confit of duck benedict, and the amazing raft of deserts. For 30 dollars a person, it was very reasonable and a very easy Christmas dinner.
Great for Christmas brunch! Lots of variety and quality food.
We went to the Christmas buffet brunch, and it was great! On this buffet, you have many choices presented nicely, constantly refilled, and full of numerous gourmet tastes. Meats are great. Can't beat it!
