We had a reservation for 8pm. They asked us to wait 5 minutes for a table inside. After 5 minutes they told us the wait for inside seating is more than 20 minutes, and if we wanted to eat we had to sit outside.
Service was slow, the lighting was poor plus the street noise and the seating was uncomfortable.
I don’t think I will give my business to Lyon Hall anymore
Excellent, as always!
Wonderful restaurant week experience! The escargot and duck were amazing.
Drink and Happy Hour specials were fairly priced; the food we got was good and enjoyed by everyone. We kind of got forgotten about by our waiter for a very long time, but it just gave us more time to chat and catch up. I guess we probably would have ordered another round or two had the waiter been more attentive and we were given the opportunity.
A favorite spot. Great quality. Easy going. Been going there on Monday for oysters and mussels
Great value for restaurant week. Food was very enjoyable, but kitchen was a little slow for the appetizer course.
It was worth the wait, however. The duck breast and the trout almandine entrees done well.
Excellent location, food, and service. We went during Restaurant Week and had a delicious dinner.
A consistent go to for us. Not many “white table. Loth” restaurants in Clarendon. Great to be away from a sports bar! Consistent food with great, attentive service. A breath of fresh air.
Overall we had a positive experience and are likely to return. The food was excellent. If anything, the portions were too large. My dessert would have been ample for two people.
However, the service overall left something to be desired. A waiter took our order, but the food was delivered by a kitchen employee who brought the soup I had ordered as an entree at the same time as my main course, so my steak sat getting cold while I hurried to finish my soup. (Our waiter apologized when he saw what had happened.)
The food and wine were excellent - as always.
Sunday family brunch. No better place in Arlington.
Great food, long wait time for meal, but complimentary dessert due to wait
Food was cold and server was hard to track down to refresh beverages and take care of the food. Then rather than provide a fresh meal they took mine and stick it in the microwave - but that took about 15 minutes. Had to track down server to go get it.
Excellent food and service did a large group brunch. When a few orders were mixed up, the servers very promptly fixed them. We were in the upper dining room and my only complaint would be it’s so dark! Would be great to turn up the lighting during brunch service. We will absolutely return!
Everything was great, as always. Thank you!
A true neighborhood gem. Absolutely try the cauliflower schnitzel!
First off, the food was delicious.
We claimed our reservation and the host was kind and accommodating to having a stroller. We were sat on the patio in the shade. Initial greeting took close to 10 minutes when the host came back with waters and apologized for the miscommunication in servers. Our waitress arrived a few minutes later and we ordered. Slow timing for our drink - the appetizer beat them. The support wait staff were excellent! They were courteous and attentive to our water.
Overall, I am excited to return - would like to see a bit more urgency in the wait staff though.
Clumsy service (spilled beer on a customer, served wrong order to two customers) Food was mediocre (pork schnitzel was flavorless). But it was prompt and hot.
Our family of 5 just loves Lyon Hall. Food is fresh and delicious, oysters, mussels, burgers, fish all amazing. And the kids menu includes health
Brunch was great
Excellent - Excellent - Excellent - Excellent - Excellent -
Pleasantly surprised. Food, service and moderate level of noise. We will be back
A bit loud, but my family and I still had a very good time. The food was excellent.
Excellent spot with great french/german inspired menu with offerings you can't get anywhere else in the immediate area. Food is always excellent and never disappoints
Had dinner there with my aunt, who has hearing difficulties. Both of us loved the food, and she was able to hear the conversation without any difficulties even though the restaurant was busy. Overall would highly recommend.
The 3 of us enjoyed 3 different entrees. Service was excellent. Appreciated not being rushed.
Meet up at Lyon Hall for a birthday dinner before bar hopping in Arlington. Great time! Good food and very friendly staff!
Lyon Hall is always a great go-to for good food, drink and service. I appreciate that they have happy hours even on weekends.
We went for a family brunch. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. The donuts were outstanding. As was the French toast. I don’t recommend omelet - it was so salty as to be inedible. It was $25pp without drinks. Which I find expensive.
Always enjoyable. The food was great and that is to expected. We went to see the World Cup finals and it was the perfect place for brunch and a soccer match. See you guys next time!
Celebrated the evening before a holiday with a bunch of friends. Great fun! Great food! Great service!
If I could give the food and service six stars, I would. Highly recommend.
We usually enjoy our neighborhood restaurant, but tonight the food was a bit off. One dinner found huge garlic cloves in her mussels that caused a bit of bitterness in the broth. Another did not feel well after eating the duck. Just an off night for us or the kitchen.
Good brunch. Well organized menu with just enough choices. Steak frites excellent, and the doughnuts are fun, if bland. Bacon could be thicker and more interesting.
The atmosphere at Lyon Hall was very nice...the seating was a little too crowded for me. The food and service was excellent. I will return.
For the number of times that we've eaten at Lyon Hall, it's never a bad meal.
We went for $1 oyster night and it was great. Just great solid food and service all around.
The restaurant is good, food is great. The only thing that I’d complain is that it took long to bring the food
Hostess was incredibly rude and uncommunicative with refusal to seat a reservation a few minutes early with 10+ tables open both in and out of restaurant, food was ok but poorly seasoned, overall probably won’t be coming back for a future special event
Would probably recommend. had a much better experience the last time I went. This time, it was Father's Day. The Hosts at the Front entrance were poor. Although there were available tables and we had a reservation, we waited 10 minutes to be seated. I have a physical infirmity and use a walker - the hostess seating us didn't want to give us a table on the main level - although I explained I had trouble walking and couldn't do stairs. She insisted we go upstairs, noting there was an elevator. We took the elevator - it was a service elevator and dirty and there was something wet on the floor - I could have slipped and injured myself further.
Called a day before our reservation to let them know we had a vegan in our group and ask if they could accommodate special diets. Was told yes, just ask the server for the menu with special diet options. We asked after being seated and were told there was no such menu. They said the chef could make a quinoa avocado salad, which was fine but was just the appetizer salad with a little bit of red quinoa on top and guacamole spooned on the side and really not a full meal. I would’ve appreciated just being told on the phone that they would only be able to do a side salad; we could’ve found somewhere else that had options. Otherwise the food was fine, and the outdoor seating was nice.
