Service was sub par. We were there almost two hours for lunch. Food was good. Took forever for them to take our order and forever for food to arrive. Our glasses were left empty.
Food and atmosphere were excellent. Great place for a sophisticated lunch.
Brought a friend who is new to the area. I was already a huge fan & now she is too. Perfect leisurely Sunday brunch....cocktails, coffee, benedict & croque madame....oh, and the donuts. I just adore everything about Lyon Hall. Continued success!
This place rocks!!!
Solid French menu choices; we opted for mussels, pate, and trout, all quite delicious. Some pauses between service, but that was ok because we were not in a hurry. Only issue was pinot noir we ordered was not in stock; upsell to another choice, and then the vintage printed on the list (2015) was incorrect. It was 2016. Still good and reasonably priced, but not acknowledged. The crowd was lively on a Sat night, including bar scene.
The food is really good, but the dining room is a little dark at night and it's pretty loud. Recommend the pretzels, frites, and hanger steak.
Unfortunately had a bad pot of mussels. I had to send them back and get something else. I love mussels and these were fishy. I could smell the bad aroma as soon as they put them down. So I ordered a burger. That was good but would never get mussels there again.
I took a date to Lyon Hall and had a great experience overall. The restaurant features an extensive beer and wine list along with a meat and cheese dominant French cuisine. I highly recommend the steak fries! Lyon Hall is a very popular restaurant and thus a little bit noisy, but if you're seeking a casual and not intimate ambience, this restaurant would be an excellent choice.
Another nice experience at one of my favorite restaurants in Arlington. We had gnocchi, the portion was a little on the small side. We also had the steak frites which were cooked exactly how I ordered.
I like Lyon Hall but mainly the first floor. I really do not like the upstairs: there is no ambience, it is like a differente bar. Not for me, also the chairs, not than comfortable.
Lyon Hall is very very loud ( not energetic, LOUD) so if you want to talk and have a conversation, not the right place).
Overall: I like the place, great food, nice place, devent prices, good service...and they have music DJ later at night.
Lyon Hall is one of our go-to places. The food is consistently good, as well as the service and the cocktails. We will continue going back.
Hostesses were excellent. Took great care of us. Made all the difference. Wonderful evening.
Ordered the Avocado eggs. There was no avocado and little bacon.
Excellent food and great service. The atmosphere is pleasant and comfortable, and the noise level is reasonable considering the number of tables.
Overall great experience. Happy hour was good - we got the pretzel with our drinks, delicious dips. Dinner included a burger which was standard and a Thai mussle pot which was delicious. Great service too.
Good, but the service lacked. The on duty manager helped keep us relaxed!
The food was delicious and the service was great! Will be going back.
Excellent service and waitstaff. The Valentine’s Day menu was very good. Great selection of Belgian and Germany beer.
Food was great, small portion, but little bit pricey.
Food was Amazing! Great little French Bistro in the heart of Arlington!
Always great! Thanks!
Great good - great service! Nice job Lyon hall
Had an 8 top gathering for my wife's birthday and the service and food were excellent. Only thing that was slightly disappointing was the lack of singing or candle on the dessert :( But nonetheless, I would recommend Lyon Hall to anyone.
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Lyon Hall
The service and the food was on point. The only complaint I have is that it was so dark in there it was really hard to see the menu, and I’m in my 20s with great vision lol
LOVED that restaurant week allowed us to have almost anything off the regular menu, as opposed to a set list of items. Had a great bottle of wine. The tuna tartar was a very generous portion. Mussels - always good.
Will be back.
Mixed feelings about this time at Lyon Hall. I have been many times and always enjoyed it. This time, on the plus side, all of the food was very tasty. On the negative side, it took over 2 hours to get all of our food and my husband ended up with some piece of plastic in his dinner. They were apologetic about both issues, but not a good look for a moderately expensive meal.
Great service and even better food. The Thai mussels were tasty and delicious and the beef bourginoin was tender and splendid. Would highly recommend! Lots of inexpensive parking nearby.
Lyon Hall is always a favorite. The menu is strong, food is good and the staff is always very nice and efficient. Our waitress Ranya was absolutely amazing and took good care of our quirky little group while we celebrated, laughed, made far too many bad jokes and a few crazy requests. She is a gem! She truly helped to make the outing very special!
I go to Lyon Hall from time to time with friends and family and for special occasions. It never disappoints. I've tried many menu items and never found one I didn't like. Everything is tasty, and everything looks tasty. The staff has always been helpful, including when we've been in a hurry.
Group of 5 coworkers for a late lunch dinner Restaurant week. Service was great, food was tasty and we had a good time.
Great stop for restaurant week 2018. The grilled shrimp salad is one of the top 3 best salads I've ever eaten in my life. Would definitely go back just for that!
Good portions were small.
Fabulous food and great service make this my favorite place during Restaurant Week.
Excellent food as always, but I had not been there for sometime and asked for a quieter place for my 83 year old mom to be able to hear... and we didn't get a quieter place. I would have been fine if you had told me my reservation would not accommodate an old person... but no joy.
I got the Grilled Shrimp Salad appetizer. It was such a great mix of flavors. The greens and dressing were excellent. Shrimp perfectly grilled, with an avocado mousse, great for dipping the shrimp. Great presentation. The Short Rib Bourguignon was delicious, tender and with a great wine sauce. Vegetables the right doneness. All in all a great meal. I got the Restaurant week deal and the one negative was finding out upon getting there that there is an up charge for the Short Rib. However, all in all a great presentation and great meal.
Not as good as previous experience but still pretty decent. I just hope it’s not going down hill. It used to be much better and consistent. We still had a good time and enjoyed it.
We had a pretty good experience but the tables were uncomfortably small and they got my order wrong. The coffee was fantastic, though, and the food was better than average.
We came for happy hour/light dinner after a matinee in DC. Two of us has mussels (I had theThai mussels) based on the good reviews and they were both excellent. Our other friend loved her bratwurst. Drinks were great and all for a happy hour price. We will be back and will recommend it. Our server was attentive and he helped us with the menu.
I've been to Lyon Hall two times before and I wasn't impressed on either occasion. This trip was much different though; the service and food were outstanding, and the happy hour deals are really something to celebrate. My mom and I ordered the Thai and Normandy mussel pots and holy cow are they good. The two pots have very different flavors (Thai is sweeter and dairy free, and the Normandy is more savory with a mushroom cream base) that complement each other nicely, and for $10 a piece, one can certainly make a full meal out of either if you make sure to ask for bread. We finished our meal with a delightful winter fruit tart that was just lite enough for us not to feel like we needed to be rolled out of there. Overall Lyon Hall was outstanding, and I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great, reasonably priced meal in Arlington.
