Very good, best feature was wait staff did not linger and allowed us 3 1/2 hrs of good food and conversation. Only food issue is lack of clearly gluten free menu selections. Wife's trout main was supposed to be prepped gluten free but she had a mild adverse reaction to something.
It was pleasant.
I go frequently.
We enjoyed Thanksgiving at Lyon Hall. Tables close together, uncomfortable. Appetizer was cold. Steak was wonderful. Overall, positive but for the money, not great value. I like the regular brunch menu better.
Wonderful Thanksgiving dinner! It was so good that we came home and immediately booked a reservation for Christmas Eve!
It's so loud! but the food, service, and evening were great.
Excellent service and delicious food!
Great service! Wonderful food & drink! The tuna tartar appetizer is fantastic. We get it each time we visit Lyon Hall and it is always fabulous!
Always a great menu, food tastes great and atmosphere is fun. Service was also great.
Honestly this place was great. Drove by it a week or two ago and it looked cool. Took my girlfriend there and couldn’t have been happier. Excellent service, food was amazing, atmosphere was great. We will be coming back as often as we can. Thank you!
The food and the ambiance was perfect. The place was recommended to me by a friend as a good place for a happy hour - while I can see that, I think this is a perfect place to have one-on-one intimate conversation.
Meeting my parents who love out of town for dinner.
Food was great but they ran out of the Bavarian Pretzel
We really wanted to try
Outstanding French food. We had the Mussels Normandy, soups, and oxtail/mushroom appetizer. Everything was very good. We look forward to returning.
Pretty mediocre across the board.
Food is good but the noise level can be too high for conversation at times. The service is excellent - even when the tables are filled and there is a wait line. Kudos and thanks.
My dad and I went and had amazing food and service! Liberty group restaurants never disappoint! Will definitely be back soon!
Lyon Hall is in the midst of Clarendon in Arlington, VA. It offers authentically French cuisine. Love to go there when I am in the area.
The noise level ramped up throughout the evening but we still enjoyed our visit. We found the dessert selection underwhelming and the pink peppercorn ice cream did not live up to our expectations, unfortunately - one taste was all I could manage.
Happy hour is my favorite!
Delicious food that is not inexpensive but, we felt, worth the price. We will eat here again.
After we asked for a French Press, server indicated that coffee wasn’t served due to water issues. However, not long after, he started coming out from the kitchen with French presses in hand while he purposefully passed right by our table. When we finally asked him if the water issue was resolved, he was quipped to shrug & said, “ I don’t know, they don’t tell me anything”. He didn’t even consider revisiting our request for coffee. Furthermore, he only came twice to our table to check how we’re doing. We weren’t impressed with the service.
My husbands chicken parm tasted like it was soaked in black pepper, my cosmopolitan wasn't anything like it should have been and not only was it super loud but they were playing repetitive club music.
Fabulous time at your restaurant
We will be back
Food was great, beer list was great, service was excellent.
Service was rushed. Wait staff didn’t have a clear understanding of cheeses and beers. Kept pushing us along, when it started to get uncomfortable. Skipped desert, which we normally would have.
The restaurant may have a French menu but there is nothing French about it:
Charcuterie consists of prosciutto and mortadella (Italian), not French specialties.
Moules Normandy have nothing of a traditional Normandy-based recipe: No cream, and Roquefort cheese, which is not original from Normandy.
This is just another typical restaurant that believes that slapping French names on a menu makes it French.
Very good meal.:onion soup was super cheesy like I like it the pear salad was a good seasonal choice. Also had a flight of beers which I loved. My husband had the beef short ribs which were falling apart tender. Service was excellent! Will definitely be back.
Lyon Hall never disappoints. The wine choices are always excellent. Tuna tartar as an app. Trout almandine for entree. My guests had a salmon entree. I like crisp white wine with fish. My guests liked the Pinot noir with the salmon. Creme brûlée and a slice of cake for dessert. Everything was high quality and perfectly done. This is an Arlington treasure.
Server was not friendly until it was time to get the check so he could get a nice tip. He also broke the cork on a $300 bottle of wine I brought in. He didn’t even apologize even though he caused it.
Awesome place for any event!
I always enjoy my meal at Lyon Hall - and my friend enjoyed his birthday steak very much. However - I think in future I will try and stay downstairs - the upstairs area doesn't have quite the same ambiance as the downstairs. Love the trout. Missed the chocolate mousse on the dessert menu this time though.
The food is pretty mediocre. I had heard the burgers were topnotch, but honestly it tasted like a fast food burger. The soup was room temperature. The cheeses were tasty, but nothing extraordinary. The sausages did not offer the wonderful German flavor such as the Heidelberg Bakery selection. Go to the Heidelberg if you want a true wurst.
excellent food for the area. french bistro with solid beer selection and descent service. went for a business happy hour and dinner and ll parties were satisfied. we had a vegetarian in the group who was critical of the limited vegetarian selection, but happy with the quality of his meal. steak and mussels were great.
Went for my friend's birthday and was pleasantly surprised to see they brought her cake and a mimosa just because I checked that box here on OpenTable. It was very sweet.
Wonderful food and service! Out dinner there made for a special anniversary outting.
The food/drinks and customer service was great. The only issue was the tables were not prepared for a group to be sat together. Reservation was for a birthday dinner party. The restaurant did not offer the dessert after dinner was served. Went somewhere else for the dessert and candle.
Service hiccups: I ordered a vodka martini up with olives, no vermouth and received a martini with extra vermouth. I asked for a replacement, and the waiter seemed annoyed. I think he thought I had not said "no vermouth," but I know I did because I have been ordering this drink regularly for many years, and the 3 people at the table heard my order. My replacement drink was watery.
Entire group of six for lunch were quite impressed with the food. We will definitely be back!
Camilo is a fabulous server and a great asset to the restaurant. Bravo!
