Need to book at 2:45 PM?Other great restaurants with availability.
The food was fairly nice overall,l but definitely a couple of misses. The oysters were quite good and their texture was lovely. The escargots were ok but the was under seasoned and sauce missing something. The tuna tartare needed some sort of seasoning or sauce but was quite fresh. Maybe a one off, but the trout almondene was way overcooked, overlooking that, the taste was actually good. The creme brulee was i felt, a skip: dense and more resembled a flan, with no crunch left on the sugar top. The staff was busy but kind. The most noticeable gaf was the repeated abrupt removal of dishes. I feel that we should have been asked if we were finished before arms were reaching for their removal.
Food was delicious and atmosphere was great!!!
This is our favorite local spot. We always have great meals and stellar service
The only disappointment was their take on Creme Brulee which almost seemed like it was a thawed, grocery store isle dessert. I am a huge fan of Creme Brulee and was profoundly disappointed. That asside, the appetizers and the entrees were fantastic.
Food is always excellent- you can count on it. Instead of my usual moules, I had gangar steK with frites. The frites were disappointing- doggy. Need to be crisper. But the salted caramel Mille feuille was a good finish.
We liked the food so much we came back twice last week. I will take my brother from out of town this Friday. The food is excellent and a great value. The hostess was amazing fitting us in earlier in the week during restaurant week. I recommend the mussels in white wine. Soo up every drop of the white broth with the nicely crusted bread!
Amazing deal during restaurant week! There were huge portions and you could pick anything from the entire menu. It was a great experience and I’ll definitely be back!
Best brunch in town!
Spectacular food! I can't wait to return. Great place for a date-night or dinner and cocktails with friends.
We dined in for DC Restaurant week and were very much pleased that the whole menu was offered with some minor exceptions. For my main course, the duck was the better choice for a cold day as it tasted like a home-made stew. As I was not a fan of the first dessert that I ordered, the waiter offered to bring a second one out instead that my taste buds were pleased with. Good fun, warm food, and great service.
A fantastic restaurant with great food and attentive service.
Absolutely love Lyon Hall. Always enjoy my meals there and they are always consistently good. I go from time to time for lunch/brunch - and went again for restaurant week last week. Their prawn salad is absolutely my favourite salad, the trout is always delicious. and the dessert they had - the Mille-Feuille pasty dessert was outstanding. Highly recommend Lyon Hall for lunch/brunch and dinner.
Table next to us was annoying.
Our server was amazing... great suggestions!
Very enjoyable experience. Wife and I took advantage of Restaurant Week and had lunch at Lyon Hall. Service outstanding, food outstanding. We will be back. I highly recommend it.
Great food... loved the mussels! Great service too!!!
Top quality ingredients, well prepared. A variety of deliciousness to choose from.
Lunch (participated in RW) was delicious (tuna tartare, shrimp salad, ice cream). Our server was also great. Attentive amd very pleasant.
On our last two visits, the fish of the day (always salmon) from the kids menu was basically the size of one fork full. They should just raise the price and provide more or increase the portion slightly so my son could have two fork full of fish.
Service was slow, but did not seem like a problem created by the servers.
We went to Lyon Hall for brunch and really enjoyed our meals. Quick, good service and the quality of the food was great. Ambiance of the upstairs level was a little weird but the main dining room seemed more put together. Overall we enjoyed it, and will come by again for a quick brunch or casual dinner.
They could find my reservation when I checked in. Luckily not too crowded so not a problem.
My husbands retirement from the military
The pumpkin soup w lobster dumplings was the best soup i have had in years. Awesome. The roasted pork dinner was perfect as were the short ribs. Service solid. A bit noisy though.
Great meal and amazing mussels. Really attentive service with friendly staff. Felt a little rushed toward the end of the meal when the restaurant started to get busy.
It's nice to see an established restaurant get better and better.
Had a nice Birthday dinner. Server was pleasant and accommodating. Food was good as always though there were complaints about the creme brulee not being burnt.
Great onion soup and burger
The food was good but arrived in the wrong order. My husband and i got our salad at the same time as our entree. And, someone else at our time go their soup after their entree had arrived. We ended up with too many plates at the small table, and our entrees got cold while we ate out appetizers.
The food was cold, no serving spoons for sides or knives for steak provided.
Great New Years Eve Dinner! Would liked more variety with the specials, however our food was all delicious.
Everything was wonderful for the most part. Felt a little rushed with main dish coming out too soon and wanted to remove appetizers before finished. Did not get my salad. And my dinner was cold when I received it-but since boyfriends wasn’t didn’t want to send back since would have had to wait and he would been done with his food. The server was very nice though. 👍
we sat upstairs on NYE service was amazing I wish I could remember the server name to let you know.
Our fist visit made us pledge to come back. New Year’s Eve lunch and farewell to daughter from CA. Great prices and varied menu. Just what we were looking for.
Great hanger steak - medium rare done right and succulent meat flavor ! and at $19 for lunch with a few bites of salad greens and some fries, not a bad deal. Server was very attentive in refilling ice tea and checking on us without intruding conversation. Two complaints: 1. MOP THE FLOOR with vinegar, soap and hot water! Every occasion I have been to the restaurant and in different shoes, I can still GLIDE on the slippery, greasy surface whether in the dining room or the bathroom. 2. STOP putting straws in drinks by default. When patrons ask for it, give it to them. It is just NOT necessary! A good restaurant always washes its glasses with soap and hot water to remove lipstick and grease stains. Straws let them get away with dirty glasses.
I've been coming to this restaurant for years. I can honestly says that the quality of the food had declined. Also, the service could have been better. Two of our foods came out wrong. I'm not sure if this was a kitchen issue or if the serve forgot to order it correctly.
To make matters worse, the server completely forgot to order my espresso so our dessert arrived and then after I reminded him 10 minutes later, he brought out the Espresso. Although he didn't charge me for the Espresso it still didn't fix the issue.
I will likely never return back.
Lyon Hall continues to be one of our favorite neighborhood spots. Even my highly discerning mother-in-law thought the food was excellent and enjoyed the ambiance. They have a great kid’s menu- mine ate the salmon and vegetables and loved them! Waitstaff is top notch.
Great hospitality and supper kid friendly
