Went for fathers day brunch. Menu is huge and they had a brunch menu. The food was good, nothing to write home about but good. The restaurant was empty which was strange. The area would suggest that it would be busier. Perhaps they should work on a smaller menu and focus on what they do well.
Great place to eat before going to Jungle Theater. The tacos were amazing and salad perfect. Fun to sit outside on a spring evening.
Brisket is amazing and so are the baja tacos! Good clean bar and service.
Great experience for a 15+ person group, the back area was perfect and the service was top of the line.
Tried fun new things like the cheese curds, and the salted pretzel sticks. Both came with two different yummy dipping sauces. Staff set up TV so we could watch our game on two TVs so all of us could watch.
Thanks for coming!
This place is a hidden gem! The smoked brisket was amazing and my wife had a golden beet salad which was delicious for I had a bite. For a bar, their wine selection is really good. Friendly easy going atmosphere, our server was really nice. Highly recommend
Thanks Mandy...we are expanding our vegetarian and vegan options with some smoked produce, salsa and chutneys. Hope to see you again soon. Thanks The Lyndale Tap House
I had a particularly bad experience at the Lyndale Tap, somewhere I had been and enjoyed before. My server was inattentive at best, though "lost" would be a better descriptor, as she didn't seem to really know what she was doing. Beyond appetizers coming out on top of entrees, it was a fifteen minute wait culminating in having to go to the hostess stand to ask for some...and I was still charged for it. That was the final indignity.
Hi Claire .... My apologies for your experience. We do have a busy Friday and Saturdays but that is no excuse for not making the guests feel comfortable and not getting the food come out timely. I am sending you my personal email in private to continue this conversation, as it would be helpful to know the time and some description / name to give the employee a 360 feedback. We would like you to come back and give us another chance. Thanks The Lyndale Tap House
This place was a standard go-to and great, but now I am not sure what to expect. New menu. New management. Eh... probably won’t be back for a while?
Hi Megan - Our brunch menu is the same, there has been no change there. We do run some specials which are in addition to the brunch menu. I hope that clarifies any confusion around the brunch menu for we would love to have you guys come visit us again and soon. Thanks The Lyndale Tap House
I would have liked to give a better review, but I left before the food came out for our group. This must have been a night where the kitchen staff was short. Our group waited 1.5 hours, and we still didn't get our food. We asked about the wait and got a hesitate 15-20 more minutes, but we were right in front of the kitchen and could see our ticket had not been even started yet. We were hungry and left to get food faster. The service was good as we were continually asked for drinks, but it would have been nice to know they were running behind before asking about it. The food looked good, but we didn't get actually to eat and to enjoy it. The atmosphere was also nice.
Hi Mark - We had a perfect storm last Saturday and deserve your ranking. This will never happen again. We had two cooks not come in last minute and we tried to compensate our guests for long wait times with free drinks. No excuses here, we apologize for your experience and can only annotate that this was an anomaly. We do hope to see you again.
It was fine. Nothing overly special, but no problems or complaints.
Hi, we want to make your experience special here. Let us know what we can do better. Thanks The Lyndale Tap House
The food was delicious, as always! Our only complain was the service provided. Our server was a bit rude and left us waiting several times (i.e. took forever to get our order, asked for refills several times and she never brought them, etc.).
Hi Christina - Thank you for your feedback. I am so sorry for your experience and based on your dining dates, we are addressing this feedback with our current staff. Guest experience is our number one priority here and with that in mind, we are making a lot of changes. We will love to have you back and please do let the manager on duty know you are here. Thanks - The Lyndale Tap House
Very close to Jungle theater, which is why we go. Food is ok, but not quite up to the current standards of above average bar food.
Hi - we are striving for an elevated bar food experience at The Lyndale Tap House. I am sorry that your food experience was less than stellar. We would love to know more about what you ate and would love to welcome you at the Lyndale Taphouse again to try our new much-liked menu options (brisket / baby back ribs / Golden Beet Salad w smoked pecans and goat cheese etc), Thanks - The Lyndale Taphouse
Awesome food and service, however host and the front was rude upon arrival, but other staff made sure we were seated and well taken care of!!
This was our first time. We were glad to sit in the back area because the front was full and the happy chattering was very loud. The food was good. My husband was getting the fries with his sandwich, so I opted for the roasted brussel sprouts. They were incredible. Loved every bite. My sandwich was so filling that I asked for a takehome box. Got a compostable cardboard box. Wooden toothpicks in the sandwiches. No straws! No plastic! Yea for them! But it was the service that impressed me the most. I had looked at your website online and ordered a Bloody Mary because I was so impressed with the photo. The one I got would have been normal anywhere else but didn't have half the goodies as shown in the photo. When I mentioned it to my waiter, he told me that the one I saw was served at the Sunday Brunch, not during the week. That didn't bother me much, till later I reflected again on the pictures. The manager had come around very nicely checking up on everything. The second time I asked if the drink was supposed to come with a beer chaser. He was back in less than a minute with one. later, I overheard the manager compliment one of the wait staff. That was music to my ears. Each of the staff we observes were excellent. Now I know why.
Lyndale Tap House has good food and service. Unfortunately they also have new management which doesn’t honor previously purchased discounts-not acceptable.
The nachos with pit meat were really good! Not your typical bar nachos but also not so far off of what I was expecting that I missed my usual bar nacho experience. I also really enjoyed my southwest chicken salad. My husband's steak salad was okay, but not wonderful. They had a decent selection of beers. The service was fine but not excellent. Overall very good food, good location, and easy to get a booth on a Saturday evening.
Great food. Great service. We Will be back!!!!!!!!
Enjoyed the atmosphere and food. Well priced special for the evening. Will be returning!
Brunch was wonderful! I had the biscuits and gravy, biscuits were fresh and delicious, maybe could have used a little more gravy. Bloody Mary's were good, but next time I will defiantly do the bottomless Mimosas, they were whipping those things out like crazy! We would like to go back for dinner and the amazing tap beer selection. Service was top notch! Friendly, fast and never made us feel rushed.
great place to eat before a play at the Jungle. Quick service, nice sandwiches and salad.
Great food! Recommend the Walleye bites, shrimp tacos and brisket tacos.
Excellent bbq choices, so tasty!! Menu is surprisingly extensive and comprehensive!! Wonderful, personal service.
We booked Lyndale Tap House for my birthday dinner. They were able to accommodate a large party reservation for 20. They had the tables ready for us when we got there. The staff were super friendly and very accommodating. Service was outstanding. Food and drinks came out quickly. Food was reasonably priced and well portioned. A lot of people ended up splitting sandwiches. We would definitely go back!
Scotch eggs appetizer is way over priced for what was presented. sausage was thin and bland.
Meatloaf diner was missing the sirloin gravy, as called out on menu. Server seemed to not be aware of this, had to ask for gravy.
Chili was all hot sauce... imho was missing cumin, but was a large portion.
Cocktail was delicious and the chicken sandwich was very good.
Food quality was poor. Very disappointed in the nachos and scotch eggs. Wouldn't return.
The tables are wobbly which makes dining enertaining. Ordered the pit pork bbq. Asked if it was spicy, server said no. Was really spicy and the onion rings took 25 minutes to get to the table and were super salty.
They took forever to seat us when we had made a reservation, the noise level was way too loud, couldnt hear my dinner partner at all without screaming, and refused to check me in for the reservation points.
Food, however, was fantastic and would love to go again if it was quieter and servers were less overworked.
Very disappointing. Sandwich was not good, server disagreed with me when I told her I got the wrong sandwich (correct one was not good either), someone in my party ordered only soup and came to find out at the time all the food was delivered they were out, prices were too high, bathrooms were out of soap. Not good overall. Unfortunately I recommended this place to my party of 9. I had been there years ago and it was excellent. Wouldn’t recommend.
Great server. Put beef and salad were both excellent. Better than our last visit. We will be back. Convenient to Jungle theatre.
Server was nice and attentive; however, most of the food was over cooked and over priced.
We had a mixed experience, with my wife thoroughly enjoying her shrimp salad plate, and my being thoroughly disappointed with my meatloaf dinner. First, it was served at room temperature. (What happened to rule to serve hot foods hot and cold foods cold?) I asked for the dinner to be served hot. It was returned to the kitchen, where I believe it was nuked in a microwave. That turned the meatloaf slices into the texture of hockey pucks. The menu said it would be served with "sirloin gravy"; there was a little bright orange stuff on the plate but no gravy I could discern. I ate what I could before just giving up. I told our waitress how disappointed I was. Her response was a kindly, "Oh, I'm sorry." That, too, was a let-down.
The food was great! The hostess, bartender, and food server were awesome!
The waitress had no personality at all and seemed to be upset that we questioned the prices on the bill. We weren't trying to be cheap but when you advertise happy hour prices you should honor the discounts without your guests having to ask about them.
The pit beef sandwich was way over cooked this time and not as good as we have always enjoyed eating there. My favorite has always been the dry rub wings. They did have an extensive craft beer selection. Our server did an excellent job. Since we were there early (5:15) our food came out very quickly.
Food was great. Large portions with good beer selection. Loved the walleye bites.
The food was great, they had some unique options. My son loved the Scotch eggs! The Stampede Fries were delicious and so were the pretzels. My husband and I shared the Blistering Hipster and it lived up to the warning, it was super spicy and I can handle it normally so it's not for the faint of heart. My daughter had the meatloaf, I tried a taste and it was superb!
Our service was very good as well, we were a group of 7 which included children and our server was ever present when we needed her.
Located on Lyndale and Lake streets, this restaurant offers good food, with a happy hour every day until 7 pm. We stopped for dinner before attending a play at the Jungle Theater across the alley. The menu is standard brew pub fare with appetizers consisting of things like pretzel sticks, pork belly, chicken wings, walleye bites, pesto chicken, scotch eggs, etc. They have very good burgers and Pit sandwiches with french fries and are reasonably priced. There is a good selection of sandwiches, including an excellent Cuban. Their beer selection is outstanding - whatever your taste, you will find something you like ranging from scotch ales, deep porters, brown ales, a varied selection of imperial pale ales and American pale ales, lagers, etc. There is a lively atmosphere, good service and reasonably priced food with a good crowd.
Overall, the food was good, but if you want to be able to have a conversation with the people you’re with, I would go somewhere else. At 5pm there were so many screaming people, and so much extremely loud music, that we had to leave early. Overall, wouldn’t recommend.
Amazing food will be going back and loved our server
Had the pit beef and it was just ok not much flavor the pit spicy pork was tasty. Mac and cheese was flavorful.
