I first discovered L'ybane while vacationing in Nice, France and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Turns out there is a NYC location as well, wow! Just as good! Reasonably priced, diverse menu offering both French and Middle Eastern cuisines... tapas, casual vibe, vibrant bar scene, and the best version of a Dark 'n Fluffy (cocktail) you'll ever have. Whether it's light fare or a hearty meal, I always leave here happy. Give this place a try!
Meh. Out of 10, I give it a 3 tops. Service was non-existent. Food was below average. Nothing worth remembering.
Ate here for a late dinner after seeing a show around the corner. Perfect, tucked away restaurant that did not seem to be quite as touristy/crazy as other places in the immediate area. Very cute ambiance. Food was quite good (hummus in particular was nice and authentic). You are definitely paying for the Times Square/Broadway area (i.e. expensive even for NYC) but overall it was a lovely relaxing meal with good food in a pleasant atmosphere. I would certainly recommend for a meal before or after a show.
This restaurant was such a find in the Times Square area. An oasis of sorts, it was friendly and unpretentious with delicious food and very good service. An excellent value.
great food, lovely service, great brunch! so sorry they will be closing in 2 weeks to become something else
Pre show dinner and couldn’t have been better. Food was excellent and ambience was eclectic and fun.
It was my friend’s birthday and we had tickets to Hello Dolly. I booked this because it was close to the theatre and didn’t know what to expect. When we got there, we were pleased to see that it was an unassuming place on 8th Ave. So much quieter and less touristy than other places in Times Square. The service was great. They heard me say it was my friend’s birthday and the gave us our second round of drinks for free. The food was really good and not overpriced like most places in that area. The most mentionable thing was that we left and were halfway down the block when a server chased us down to give my friend his birthday card that he left on his seat. I don’t know any other places in the area where that would happen. All in all, I was very impressed and will be back for sure!
L'ybane has become our "home away from home" for Broadway theatre-going. It is like family to my friends and myself. Of course, it is a "family" that cooks imaginatively and deliciously. And it is a "family" with an excellent wine cellar. ;-)
Food was delicious. We got assorted appetizers. Perfect for lunch
This is one of our (me, the friends to whom I've introduced to the place) for pre-theatre or after-show snacking or dining. Food is wonderful... especially the smoked salmon on toast. SO GOOD!!!! And it is a wonderful place to have a pre-theatre supper and come back afterwards for dessert or after-dinner drinks or... anything. Wines are very nice also. Just love the place... if you haven't already seen that. :-)
Our waitress could not get any order correct
Brought wrong appetizers
Brought med rare burger covered in American cheese
When we ordered well done with Swiss
Then brought New burger again covered with American cheese
People all over restaurant were sending food back
I suspect there was a language problem
Manager took burger off bill but meal was ruined
Will never return
They need to fix this problem fast!
Food was exceptional. Ambiance was very nice and laid back. Our waiter was very nice and attentive. He even gave us a glass of wine on the house.
This is the second or third time here, and will go again! Food and people are great and also so close to Broadway! Recommend!
I love L'ybane. We visit almost every time we visit NYC for the delicious food, wine, and ambiance. This afternoon visit, there weren't very many people there. We didn't like the music that was on and requested jazz. Our server graciously changed the music and it was lovely. Thank you!
We've been here before, so clearly we like L'Ybane, and our latest trip was no exception, except perhaps enjoying it even more. We especially liked their "Formules" option, which had a lot of different flavors, all of them good.
Really fun, great date spot. Was looking forward to coming here more than my date!
Made reservations for NYE, and we showed up to the place only to be told that they have a private function and we’re not serving dinner. We made reservations a week in advance and no one even bothered to contact us to update us on changed plan for the evening. Very disappointing.
As usual we found everything wonderful!! We love this restaurant and it never disappoints!
Dinner was overall fine with the exception of the lamb kabob which was a bit chewy and tough. The restaurant is a reasonable choice for a pre-theatre meal.
Came here before going to a show and loved the food and sangria. I will definitely be back
Excellent value, good menu. Perfect for going to a show. Service was good. Pretty good wine list.
If you like Mediterranean, you will like this restaurant. Not crowded when we went for dinner, but we had good food at a low/reasonable price. This place should be crowded.
Some appetizer portions were small for the price like the shrimp beignets-steak was very good &juicy
This was my first time here and I will definitely go again. The food was very good, the service excellent, and the price very reasonable.
Great location for pre-theater meal. Great food for sharing. Quick service. Walked to theater in 3 minutes.
Fun lunch with 5 friends who meet twice a year. Food was delicious - we shared everything and enjoyed it all, from appetizers to main plates to desserts. Waitress was new, so manager helped out. Manager is smart, welcoming and very personable. Waitress was very sweet, just needs a little experience. Great place for pre- or post-theatre, a romantic dinner, or a group event!
We didn’t expect the open mike and the to need to be quiet and listen, but the singers were Broadway quality so once we got over the shock, it was a fun night. Delicious food
Very good mezze dishes. A real find for a quiet pre-theatre meal and an interesting wine list.
This is one of my go to restaurants in NYC. The food is reliably excellent and the service outstanding. It is in a great location for the theater. I get the hummus every time -- it is exceptional.
Food was outstanding, wine reasonably priced. Waitstaff was very pleasant and our waiter had great suggestions on pairing the various small plates into a meal.
