I’m not that old but geez it was SO loud in here! I love lively but it was so loud I couldn’t hear the waiter at all, nor my friends. Aside from that food was very tasty, but the bill was higher then we all anticipated for the amounts we got. I’d recommend for the bar area, maybe not for dining if you want to talk to your dinner companions!
It was lovely to have Latin fare in the south bay of such good quality . I especially applaud the creativity and variety of vegetarian options which were all delicious. The tacos were a touch spicier than I would have liked but will remember to request it to be milder when I order next time I visit.
Delicious food and yummy cocktails! Such a great spot to go in Redwood City!!
Nice happy hour! Great presentation, food and service!!
Food & service was good but I was disappointed to find out that they changed the menu and no longer carry the delicious Ceviche de Camarón. This was my favorite dish and the reason I usually come to LV Mar. I had the pescado ceviche and it was good but I miss the shrimp one! It was SO AMAZING!!! Please bring it back!
Really yummy! We all enjoyed the evening. The drinks both alcoholic and non alcoholic were great.
The food here is always consistently excellent, a marvelous collection of tastes, every dish is served with an original twist. Don't forget to try some of their cocktails.
Every day is Mother’s Day! :)
We had the ceviche, beet salad and tacos. All were excellent with good flavor profiles. Cocktails were also great. Definitely going back again.
Decent food - servers overwhelmed
Great Service and Food was excellent !
Very good ceviche and tacos.
We've been here many times before, but NOW there is a vegetarian menu. Yum!
Never disappoints. Great food and best Mezcal selection.
Food is good, great location next to parking garage. Wait staff is not the best, I had to constantly get up to find service for our table of 4. Oh, and if they don't like the tip you give them, they have no problem coming to your table to embarrass you and ask for more, just an FYI. So, either over tip for mediocre service or be prepared to embarrass them back.
A girls night out after a long time. One of my friends suggested I find out if the cozy back room could accommodate six people. And they could! There are about three tables back there - a two top, a six top and a round table that can handle about 6 people. As usual the food was great, service was good natured. But, one small slip up: two of my friends ordered second rounds of drinks and didn't get them. But another friend dropped in our waiter's ear that we were celebrating four birthdays and could we get a candle on each of the three desserts we ordered. Instead, we got a FOURTH dessert with a candle. It was awesome.
Always love this place. Great food.
The food was wonderful!
Service was terrible!!! we were basically ignored by waitress and we were kicked out by the bus person. At one point the bus person took my half full glass of sparkling wine of which I had to wait half an hour to receive because there was none chilled!
Needless to say downtown Redwood City was not well represented!!
Food was very disappointing. Cocktails were good. Outdoor heaters worked great. But I wouldn’t come back because the food was not that good.
Fun place, great service and fantastic food!
Went for an early afternoon brunch.
Drinks were great, although the menu items trend towards the slightly sweet.
Ceviche de Pescado is tasty way to start.
My wife had the torta de huevo... wow. Maybe one of the best eats in RWC. Decent portion size, she couldn’t finish it, and I was happy to help clear the plate.
I went with the tacos de carne, and wasn’t disappointed. Each one tastes very different. Hard to pick a fav, but it might be the pork belly might take the cake.
Hard to go wrong.
Food was ok,service was a bit hit and miss. Very dark had to use phone flashlight to see the menu. Have eaten here numerous times and the standards seem to be lower. Seems more of a Taco restaurant than the finer dining experience of the past.
Seriously disappointing. We were seated at 6:30. Our friends arrived almost immediately after us and were told we were not there. I saw them outside as the text came in. Yes the same host that had just seated us. We can’t get a drink to save our souls. When the drink finally does arrive we ask the waiter do we have enough time? We have a show at 8 o’clock. We are assured that we have enough time. But we don’t because just like the drinks getting food took forever. And it wasn’t enough food. I expect that a professional waiter will Tell patrons when they are not ordering enough food. Now we really don’t have time but since we’re hungry we order desserts. They come pretty quickly but the waiter never comes back and we literally have to go find the lousy host so we can get our bill to get to the show.
Excellent creative delicious food. Very knowledgeable about gluten free preparation. Staff friendly and welcoming. Drinks very tasty.
Great spot for a date in Redwood City!
Our brunch was amazing! Our waiter went out of his way to take care of a large diverse group and it all was delicious! Thank you for such a great experience...you know how to treat your customer and your food is delicious!
I love this place😗.the menu change some times 😔 I guess is a different chef!!! Overall gfeat place
Interesting variety of tapas and ceviche selections. Also recommend the Pork Belly tacos and the Scallop tacos. We always order the hearts of palm salad which we love. The La Roja Gomez cocktail was great !
It was a good experience. We all got food from the happy hour menu. Very friendly waiters and family friendly. A lot of sea food options.
It’s been a couple of months since my last visit and clearly the kitchen is suffering though I’m glad to say the bar is not. The pisco sours remain well-made and reasonably priced but something has happened in the food prep department.
Last night’s meal started off well with the pato al mole and the octopus and chorizo tacos. But the calamari were dry and there was very little sauce added. I had to request another sauce which helped but didn’t resolve my disappointment. Afterward I ordered the queso fundido with chorizo and mushrooms, another letdown.
I remember last time I visited both the calamari and the queso fundido were light and tasty, now both were heavy and with little flavor.
I hope LV gets its act together, it used to be an enjoyable place.
Outstanding eating experience. Service also very good.
Such a great experience and meal! Service was impeccable and the food was creative and delicious. I highly recommend LV Mar!
Service was terrible. Slow and got the wrong food!
Beautiful sea food lead Mexican food, in downtown Redwood City
Delicious, quality food. As with most nice tapas restaurants, it is a little pricey for the small-size plates you are getting, however the quality of food and the creativity of the menu makes it worth the extra few bucks, IMO. Small but nice wine list which seemed to pair appropriately with the food options.
Delish! Love the interesting menu and opportunity to take advantage of small plates. Every plate we ate was fantastic
Based on previous experiences I had high expectations which were not met this time. We were seated in the small “back room”, quieter but lacking the energy & vibe of the main room. My gin based cocktail “Amargo Adios” & the fritura Mixta were excellent, but other dishes were not. The chorizo & octopus tacos were dry & lacked distinguishable pieces of grilled octopus. The Pato con Mole had just a very small smear of mole, so flavor was lacking. Overall, we were disappointed.
Realize it was a busy Saturday evening for our reservation but service was lacking from the moment we arrived. The host was not welcoming, we waited 15 min at table for our drink order to be taken, then 20+ more for our menu selections by a different server. Our server was fine but did not go out of her way to offer suggestions or recommendations...we prob would have ordered more if she had.
The food however was AMAZING and worth returning for, maybe on a weeknight.
Excellent cocktail menu as well.
The food was absolutely delicious! However the waiter was not very attentive. We had to keep flagging him down to check on our mimosas and entrees. Otherwise it was a very enjoyable experience.
The service is great and very accommodating. They really aim to give you a great customer experience
