   Great food, as usual, unfortunately however they had many walk ins and only had two staff .. as well trained and informed as the staff are it was a stretch. Please offer bread with salad and the seafood bisque .. piano playing was a nice surprise.

   First time at Lussmanns, recommended by some friends. Had seen it before but a bit wary as my wife has to use a walking stick (the stairs at the front put you off). Turns out very accessible with a lift etc. Also can access main floor from the back no stairs required. Food was excellent and our server a very pleasant young lady who knew what to do when. A nice quiet place for lunch.

   We regularly eat here, this is the first time we have been disappointed. We started with the Manx kipper pate. The toasted sour dough bread was over done and the pate was full of big bones. I had at least 20 The Cornish sole was tasteless and covered in chopped tomatoes. Neither of us finished it. Molly did say other people had said the same. The rhubarb crumble was tasteless. My chocolate mouse was delicious. They did take the price of the desserts off as compensation. Very dissatisfied.

   I took my father in law here after hearing good things about Lussmans. We were blown away, the Dover sole was superb, fresh and flavourful. The restaurant itself has a great ambience and lovely decor. Mostly, our waitress (Carienne maybe?) was so friendly and personable that she made the experience unforgettable. One of the best waitress experiences we have had.

   Very good value for money, especially with set menu available at weekends, including Easter . Efficient and friendly staff Highly recommended

   It took a little while for us and the couple in front to be acknowledged and subsequently seated but the staff were then friendly and efficient. We appreciated being given water straight away and our drink orders were taken promptly. The wine we chose was very good and the kipper pate starter was great. For our mains we chose the Featherblade of Beef and the Hake with side orders of vegetables. Both were delicious & couldn’t be faulted. For dessert we opted for the carpaccio of pineapple and the apple crumble. The crumble was particularly amazing. The attentive service died off at this stage and we struggled to find someone to take our Baileys coffee order. When the coffees arrived they were barely tepid in temperature, so not great at all. Just about drinkable. We would have requested hotter ones but couldn’t be bothered to try to find someone to assist at that point. Finally it took another while to be able to request the bill, which took the shine off the evening a little. If it hadn’t been for the drop off in service and tepid coffees it would have been outstanding.
