As we booked at the last minute and the restaurant was almost full, we were offered a bar table, ie a tall bench seat with stools set in one of the front window bays. This was a perfect place to watch the world go by on Fore St. Service was friendly, courteous and professional, with our food and wine order taken promptly. Our dishes were delicious and hearty enough to leave us without any space for pudding, with great options for veggie and fish as well as meat. Once we had requested and settled the bill, we were given space to finish our drinks and leave at our own pace, under no pressure to rush. Overall a great place to visit with a lovely atmosphere, either for a relaxed meal or a special occasion. Their commitment to sustainability is a bonus.

i can't highly recommend this venue enough, food & service were epic. We came here for our 20th wedding anniversary and we weren't let down. Food was exceptional, i can't say in words how good it was. we will definitely return. Please go and enjoy yourselves! Staff were very good, just the right amount of interaction without hovering round and annoying you like at some places. comfortable seating, nice drinks, convenient location with parking close by. compliments to the chef & all staff, get yourselves down there now!

Great place and they gave us a private room at the back so our 4 year old could have a bit of freedom which worked incredibly well!

Faultless food and service. I have been coming to the Hertford restaurant for nearly 14 years now. The standard remain as high as the first time I visited. Bravo Lussmanns.

Absolutely lovely time at Lussmans. Met a friend for a couple of cocktails and lunch on Saturday 31/5. The barman was so friendly and helpful and suggested a particular cocktail to try which was lovely! We had an amazing meal and sat outside as weather was good. Staff very attentive and helpful as my friend has a gluten allergy. We will definitely be back.

Very nice restaurant and lovely ambience. The food was very good although, in my opinion, a tad expensive. The service was very good, waiters friendly and attentive. However I think a 12.5% service charge is excessive and feels like the restaurant is taking advantage of the customer. Let the customer decide whether they wish to tip the staff or not.

There was a good menu choice. I chose the two courses option, which seemed good value. I also had a pudding. On the whole, the food was good, especially the pudding. It became quite busy whilst I was in the restaurant, so staff were bustling about, and it took a while to attract the waiter's attention when I decided to order pudding. My only adverse comment concerns the service charge, which I think rather high at 12.5%, when compared to 10% charged in comparable restaurants such as Cote.
