My husband and I were staying at the Loews, so we decided to try Lure. We had a delicious meal. Having Celiac, I am always nervous eating at restaurants. Our waitress, Christina was great and very familiar with my food needs. Not only was my meal yummy, but I did not get sick!
Grossly overpriced seafood restaurant with aggressive waiters eager to pad your bill. "Save room for dessert!" could be heard at every table...Grilled octopus app was great, but everything else was fair to average at excruciating prices. He left the menu on our table, as he said, 'in case we wanted to order more....' Two women watching their weight were not quite what he was hoping for I suppose. We ordered gyoza, sushi, and special roll for $20 - and got basic, standard, sushi and dumplings that can be found in any local Japanese restaurant. The waiter asked us how we liked it and we said 'we didnt.' He turned away in disgust. Like everything else in Miami Beach, service is included at 20%. Disappointing experience all around. Go here on someone else's Amex if you're curious.
Cozy, inviting atmosphere. Although Lure features seafood, they have a nice variety of other choices. We tried the salmon and the Mediterranean whole fish recommended by our server. Both were prepared and presented very well. Excellent experience.
The food is not what I expected and I got two bottles of wine and had an extra charge for the bottles I got. Nothing special if it’s your birthday and the servers act like they don’t want to be there. I will not be going back.
Our server, Nina from Romania, was superb. This was the second time she served us. We will definitely go back for our go to crispy rice cakes and Dourade served whole and deboned with agrodulce sauce. The key lime pie was pretty good too. And I forgot to mention the biscuits. Thanks Nina for the souvenirs. Great food, great atmosphere. Everyone is friendly and welcoming.
average food quality, average plating, nothing special but top-notch prices, we had only some oysters, the grilled octopus (which was hardly grilled), a tuna roll and a 'baby' lobster, some wine and a whopping 30 bucks water (4 glasses, still feel the good vibes of it) and I really hate being forced to 18% tip. Nice try, but go somewhere else if you want to spend your valuable time.
Surprised at the level of low value the restaurant showed, we ordered 14 Sashimi platter ($70), it came with 12 peices and we mentioned it to the waitress, she counted it and said no there is 14.I counted again for her and she said oh ok I see it now. Its like the service have been told to cheap out on the patrons. The fish was ok quality but the peices were so small that it was hard to say.
All in we spent 160$ on food, no drinks and both the wife and I were literally starving when we left. It was by far the least amount of food I have ever paid for that kind of money. We then went next door and ordered dinner at Loew's hotel where we were staying. We were gouged there for a burger but at least were full. Loew's and Lure are a horrible value, would not recommend them to anyone for any reason. Actually will be talking to our corporation who picked Loew's for the week long stay.
We stay at Loews every year and finally decided to try Lure. The food was good and the atmosphere was relaxing. I had the lobster rolls and my sister had the snapper. Both were tasty. Pricing was about average for the area and type of dining. I will go back for sure.
The restaurant is an adorable blend of New England nautical meets South Beach Hip. We had very knowledgeable server, Arturo , who guided us through the menu and was very attentive. The deviled eggs topped with caviar were scrumptious, as were the crispy rice cakes with ahí tuna. The lobster roll was served with homemade chips and was delicious. I loved the Crispy whole fried snapper and the light Doraude was also a hit. Definitely recommend the key lime pie for dessert, perfect combination of sweet and tart.
The food and service are exceptional. The management is very friendly and warm, the bartenders are creative and helpful with the cocktail selections when one is undecided as to which direction to go in. The decor and view are lovely.
The menu is eclectic and varied. Definitely will return.
The food was mediocre, the service bad. The waiter forgot one of our dishes, which was not a big deal, but then our desserts were delayed 15-20 minutes,. The waiter and someone he referred to as his manager clearly saw what was going on but made no attempt to come by -- they were avoiding us. Eventually someone came by who seemed like more senior management and asked "How are we all doing?" I said "not so good" and then explained. He quickly went to the kitchen and our desserts were delivered in 15 seconds. Clearly they had been sitting there. The person who brought them (not the waiter) apologized and when I asked why the delay, all he could mutter was "we have a new dessert guy." When I asked for the check, the waiter came by and pointed out that the service charge (tip) was included in the amount (no choice in the matter). Very expensive. There are too many good restaurants in South Florida -- this isn't one based on our experience.
LURE FISHBAR was located in the Loews Miami Beach Resort, where my friend and I were staying for a conference weekend. After just the first day there, word of mouth spread at how wonderful the food was at Lure. After taking advantage of Open Table to check out the menu, we made a reservation for a Sunday night.
The look of the space is inviting and comfortable, with a nod toward a business casual dining scene. The music was especially pleasing for me as coincidently two of my all time favorite songs were in the mix.
My friend and I shared a Dragon Roll and Kanpachi Crudo. Both were fresh and mouthwateringly dressed. We followed with entrees of Hokkaido Scallops and Alaskan Crab Legs. The scallops were perfectly seared and on a bed of tasty carrot/orange puree with english peas. The crab legs were served chilled and split for easy access to all the beauiful fresh meat. We finished with a palate cleansing Key Lime Pie for dessert.
Our server was attentive and engaging and the other wait-staff were always near to refill waters or remove plates.
I can't recommend Lure Fishbar enough and I know I will be dining there again very soon.
