Lure Restaurant & Bar - Delta Victoria Ocean Pointe
LURE Restaurant & Bar is the place to be in Victoria. We offer a prime waterfront location with Victoria’s hottest patio. Chef Dan Bain creates amazing local bites and the bar serves up the Island’s best cocktails, wines by the glass, and local brews on tap.
Come any time! Breakfast, lunch, dinner or after work. Drinks, small plates or a full meal, we have it covered - not to mention the best views of Victoria in Victoria!
LURE Restaurant and Bar is located at the Delta Victoria Ocean Pointe Resort and Spa, an easy 5 minute walk over the Johnson Street "blue bridge" from Victoria's downtown centre.
Our server was excellent. I'm sorry I didn't catch her name.
Our food was fantastic but unfortunately the service was pretty terrible. We waited at the door (not greeted as we came in) for a long time before anyone even acknowledged our presence. Finally we were greeted by someone who was not overly friendly. When we were eventually seated we did not have a server for a while and it was only when the manager came over to help us that we received great service. He was very nice, informative, and helpful. The food was amazing too, but overall we would have liked better service and to have been treated like we were valued customers instead of a nuisance by all the staff (except the manager).
Great views. Unfortunately our visit was a bust food wise. The charred Brussels sprout appetizer was actually a plate of deep friedanf totally blackened air filled, charcoal balls sprinkled with Parmesan cheese. Totally inedible. The pulled pork sandwich tast was good, however it was served like warm. The French fries were great 🤪
Not worth the money for this visit.
We loved Lure for fine dining before their reboot and were inspired by their offerings at feast of fields this year. Sadly the new look was not what we were expecting so we were disappointed although if that’s what you want it’s fine
We came here for our first night on our honeymoon. It has friendly staff and a beautiful outdoor sitting area. The waiters could have come by more often, but came when they needed
This is one of my favourite venues for the incredible view of the harbour. The food is reliably good, although the bruschetta was soggy yesterday.
The staff are condistently pleasant and have frequently gone to some lengths to make our time there worthwhile.
The only ongoing annoyance is that the music is very loud and invasive, making it difficult to hold a conversation. Yesterday was the first time the noise level was tolerable. It was also the first time we'd sat in the outer balcony area, so that might have made a difference. I have frequently implored the staff to lower the volume and I know I'm not the only patron to request that. We are always told it cannot be lowered by more than a tiny amount. It might behoove you to listen to your patrons, especially the elders, as it is honestly quite off-putting to dine with people when assaulted by overly loud music. We and others would make your venue out #1 dining and hosting destination if not for that one deterrant.
My friend was delighted by her first time in the Lure restaurant. We shall return.
I have recommended your restaurant to countless people, who are always glad they went, apart from the loud music.
Very nice dinner and service was impeccable.
This is a beautiful spot with modern decor and a live DJ on weekends. It’s got a great view of the inner harbour. We had a great table right near the windows. They’ve got a fantastic appetizer selection and we actually opted just to share some appies - so delicious! They also had an awesome drink special on - old fashions for $6! It’s also very reasonably priced. Highly recommend!
One of our favourite go-to restaurants, regardless of the time of year. Convenient and consistent.
I ordered a salad (either Cobb or Ceasar) with added crab. Was anticipating chunks of crab. It was more like a crab spread like you would put on a cracker - maybe 3 bites. It was not terrible, just wasn't what I was anticipating.
Wonderful views and as always excellent service and meals.
We requested a seat near a window for my wife's birthday and unfortuantely were placed in a booth (did not initially know it was not near the window with a view when asked if a booth would be OK). Eventually got moved but this was a simple request and we were seated in an area based on equalizing server tables rather than our request, it seemed. Also, indicated it was a birthday and thought they would bring something for my wife to mark the occasion but were surprised they did not. Water not brought to our table but it was to others - was provided upon request. Food was decent and local - fresh and yummy, brought out hot. Risotto was a bit dry and lacked flavour but halibut melted in mouth and wine/beer selection was great and supports local. For the price, expected more, but all in all a good meal and great location overlooking the inner harbour.
A nice place for a date, LURE hosted a variety of people and children, so noise level was moderate. We enjoyed the maple rib appetizer and dirty almonds combo, followed by a modified Cobb salad to accommodate food allergies, as well as a very creative and surprisingly tasty Chef’s Risoto of corn three ways. Dessert was peach sorbet and an ice cream sandwich, the latter being quite decadent with many flavours. Customer service was, overall, very good.
We love the view and the patio in warm weather. If you want a nice quiet meal and conversation on a Friday night, don’t come here! The food is great, the servers; attentive, great drinks but just a little too loud for us. (I guess we’re just at that age, yikes!!)
I have been here on a week night before with a group and it was much quieter.
We really enjoyed The Lure back in the day when it was more of a fine dining experience. Obviously they cater to a different crowd now.
Lure is in a lovely location- right on the inner harbour of Victoria. There is patio seating with heaters so is good for outdoor dining in reasonable weather. The patio furniture does impede the harbour views from indoor seating.
Lure features a quite wide variety of tapas features but the quality is fairly ordinary.
The service is pleasant enough with likeable and engaged staff; however, all of our tapas arrived at the same time so all were quite cool by the time the eating was done.
All in all, Lure is a good choice but not outstanding.
Spectacular view of the inner harbour from both inside & on the multiple patios. Between the awnings, glass screens, heat lamps and blankets, the staff handle the elements admirably. Great priced bites for appy hour. Multiple local offerings on the menu. Outstanding martinis. Rushing back soon!!!
The service was excellent and very friendly. Felt very welcomed there. I would not refer to the noise level as energetic. We found it too loud. Perhaps if the music was softer people wouldn’t have to talk so loud. We will definitely go again.
Service and view were amazing, but the food was mediocre.
The food here is tasty and light. I also appreciate a great appetizer menu to which this place has. The deserts are great and so is the drink list. The views are first class.
Although I have been to Lure a few times, I was reminded again just how 'meh' this restaurant is, unfortunately. It has SUCH a lovely view and great potential for a 'hot spot', but the food (flavouring) needs some work and albeit an interesting cocktail menu I found them to be sub-par. I didn't see any use of local / season ingredients and there wasn't any 'heart and soul' in the food. We stayed for a drink and two appies and decided to head out elsewhere for the rest of the evening
Steelhead burger and spinach salad were excellent!
less local character, unfortunalety the red wine from tab was tilted (light Brown Color, smells like vinegar)
Excellent service. Treated us very well throughout the evening and allowed us the best table in the restaurant at reservation time... and on a friday night.
Overall, strongly recommended
Slow service but overall enjoyable
Service was very friendly and attentive.
Dirty confiture, dirty Windows, view of full trachten, Friends stuff, food of interior support.
I have been here several times but was very disappointed in ‘the reduced menu’ offered today. Their website shows lunch and dinner menus available from 11AM to close. Instead, the menus offered were missing most of the appetizers and entrees from the online menus. The breakfast hash I ordered was basically a mound of fried potatoes, two stems of kale and two pale yolked poached eggs. The lunch salads were nothing special either. This is my 4th time here but likely my last.
It was Canada Day so we booked a table weeks in advance knowing it would be busy because of the view of the fireworks. Table was in the bar, not the restaurant. Service was sporadic as they seemed overwhelmed.
We got two orders instead of one for the appetizer , and the main course took a very long time.
Overall, very disappointing.
Celebrating my brother’s ordination into the priesthood of Anglican Church. Lovely booth by the front harbour windows. My guests had never been to Lure but they enjoyed the food, the view and the wonderful service and atmosphere
Was a busy Friday evening, it took a very long time for our meal to arrive, but our waiter made it okay by giving us dessert.
Just mediocre. Service was slow and very few other diners at the time.
It was Father’s Day and we like to take our Dad some where special. We were seated on the patio. It was a beautiful view. Our server, Christina, was fantastic! On top of everything! Food was great and we even saw a pod of orcas swim by! Perfect end to a great dinner!
Had a lovely time with my Dad on Sunday! Thank you.
I stayed at the Delta Ocean Pointe and thought it would be convenient having dined before but they had a private function in the lounge that was so loud you couldn't hear so my group of 4 couldn't enjoy our dinner on Thurs night and then again last night with my wife.
The service and food were excellent but many others I overheard and saw their disgust with the noise as was ours!!
Mentioned to the staff and they acknowledged but of course not their problem but yet sympathetic and polite.
Management- You need to come up with a solution or risk loss of the year round diners.
Amazing view, good food, great atmosphere, fabulous staff!
I had booked online using OpenTable for 5pm to celebrate my friends birthday and asked for the table to be on the patio
I called earlier to be sure we were on the patio as I had booked online, the gentleman (Randy) said it was no problem
When I arrived, I was rudely told by a girl at the hostess stand that there were no reservations under my name and that there were no reservations on the patio because there was a special event taking place that evening on the patio
I gave her my name again and while she checked her notes again I realized my friend was already sitting outside on the balcony and went to join her
We enjoyed a nice dinner and had good service and stayed for about 2 hrs
The whole time no one was ever seated on the patio side that I had requested and was assured was available
Maybe someone needs to be clear about your setting arrangements ( what is the patio, balcony etc)
This was disappointing as there are not alot of nice outdoor spaces to enjoy a meal in Victoria and we considered your patio a good option.
The view is amazing, day or night. Our server was friendly and helpful. The food was outstanding; imaginative and fresh. Will definitely go again.
it was mother's day and i had a reservation which the hostess could not find. we were seated at one of the worst tables in the restaurant before i asked to move to a different one. my mom waited the entire time for a cup of coffee. all three of us had eggs benedict. not once did anyone ask how our meal was. All 3 of us were sick to our stomach after we ate at LURE. it was a disappointing experience. i would not recommend this place to anyone.
Our experience was fine although there were a number of issues.
When booking I was asked three things.
1) preferred seating, which I responded to
2) special orders, which I answered one Celiac
3) occasion, I answered Birthday.
When we arrived I mentioned that we booked on line and requested particular seating, I was told that you were highly booked and was shown to the corner booth at the top back.
Once seated and given menus I said that I was Celiac and was told that the "G" meant that you could make those items gluten free.
When we mentioned that it was our friends 101st birthday the waitress said "oh wow Happy birthday.
The last time we dined for lunch (without booking on line) was her 100th birthday and the experience was much better. we were sat at the window, the waiter was very help, that time we were brought bread as well as gluten free bread shortly after being seated, and a birthday dessert was offered to our Centenarian friend. The bread and birthday dessert was not offered this time.
So overall our experience was little different to a causal dinner experience. I wonder as to the purpose of answering questions when booking if they are only to be ignored or over looked. I had expected more. Fortunately the company and conversation was such that our friend did not notice the issues that I have spoken of.
