We’ve been going here for years and it’s normally very busy, the food is good, and the service is descent. This time, we had to wait for our food for over an hour and drinks for about 30 min. The service was unusually poor. It will take me a while before we go back there again.
From the moment we were seated, we thought we were in a great place. And we were not disappointed. Our waitress was friendly and knowledgeable. She brought us a wine to taste and it was wonderful. We ordered the beet salad to start and the dressing was outstanding. We then asked our waitress to help us decide between three entres. She recommended the snapper for two which was lightly coated, cubes and beautifully served over a slightly spicy sauce. What a dish! A plus. For desert, we again sought advice from our waitress. She suggested the baked chocolate cookie with ice cream. A delight. One of the best meals we've ever had.
The food was good, the only thing is the service wasn't the best in the beginning, we felt rush and the waiter seemed as if he didn't want to be there. Then our waiter got switched out for another waiter which was nicer because he had to go because he was past his time I guess.
The ambiance and decor is truly unique - the wood paneling and round cubby windows are designed to make the diner feel as if they are inside a boat. The food is generally good but overpriced for portion and many of the reviews said this already but I actually dismissed it (I was wrong). Dinner was $408 (before tip) for two woman and a 1-year old and and included wine. We started off with the $135 Royale seafood tower (1) supposed to come with 5 crab claws & 5 king crab legs. They were completely out of both varieties but no one told us. We would not have ordered the tower if we knew the crab claws/king crab was out. I asked him to bring out what the kitchen thought was fair. They brought out one piece of lobster and one lobster claw. I don't think this was a comparable trade but whatever. The tower is supposed to include 1 pound of lobster, which it did not. It included one chunk, not enough to even cut to share and definitely not a lb. This is the same piece they brought out to "replace" the missing 10 pieces of claws/legs. Also, the 2 seafood salads is just the older fish they are combining with a heavy vinegar dressing as a way to to jazz up the tower . Lastly, the sashimi pieces are TINY and they sell it by the piece ($7). We ordered 6 pieces for the table and only 2 slices were as described and the other 4 were the skinny little pieces. That was $42. But the topper is that we had ordered the sparkling rose from the "by glass" wine menu which should have been $18 glass but he brought some other sparkling rose (NOT on the glass menu) that was $38/glass. How do you automatically default to a more expensive sparkling rose than is the second item on the "wine by the glass" menu???
Summary: Definitely not worth the prices, in both portion/size and their mistakes. Seafood is generally mediocre.
Lure Fishbar is the best seafood restaurant in the area. The food is great- everything from the fresh oysters to fish dishes. The wine is superb also, they have a great skilled team that handle the outside.
Our waiter Cody has got to be the best damn waiter I've ever had. He was always there to help and really nice to us.

Love the look of this place, it really does look like a yacht! I ordered their famous burger, and i loved it. Way, way, way too loud for me though. People were literally yelling at each other during their upbeat conversations. Staff was luke warm. Great food though!
Excellent dinner at this unique and stylish SoHo restaurant. Interior reminds one of the inside of a luxury yacht. We enjoyed the tempura shrimp and the Lure House Roll. My halibut was very well prepared and the bucatini pasta was excellent too. Service was a little spotty for the latter half of the meal and generally not as sophisticated as the menu and space.
We went to Lure on double-date with friends. The decor is amazing! You really feel like you're inside a fancy yacht, minus the rocking of the waves. We were seated right away, despite coming a little earlier than our reservation. The staff was very attentive and brought us water right away. For appetizers, we had buffalo chicken lollipops and the crab cake. The chicken was good, but not very spicy. The crab cake was outstanding! Very flaky and light on a delicious bed of pear and greens. For our main entrees, we had roasted organic chicken and a side of lobster mac n' cheese and the Shazam roll. The chicked was juicy and fell right off the bone. It was delicious! The mac was also delicious; cheesy but not too rich. The roll was very good, but not out of this world. Our friends had the burger and the lobster tempura roll. They both said their meals were very good. Overall, I would recommend this place.
We went on a busy Friday night to celebrate a special birthday. The bar and restaurant were packed solid so I was concerned that our 8:30 reservation wasn't going to be honored. However I was delighted to be seated within 10 minutes of our res and in a very nice, quiet, location near the bar. The waiter was a top notch professional who was attentive but not overbearing. The menu is seafood eclectic with everything from lobster rolls (excellent) to sushi and caviar. I had a salmon dish that was tasty and done just right. The crispy calamari was extraordinary. Great flavor and fried perfectly. The drinks from the bar were perfect a feature sometimes hard to get in this big city.
All told it was a great experience with good food, great service, and a
pleasant vibe. Would definitely return-soon.
