What Insiders Are Saying
Lure Fishbar is still just as much of a Soho party yacht as it was when it opened in 2004. The food has only gotten better.
Nice thematic surroundings and decor. Wait staff was excellent. Food was superb. Downside were tables way too close ro neighboring diners. Took away from the experience because you cannot have a private conversation. Gets a bit loud when busy.
Food was very okay for the price...
Good food, service and atmosphere. Would like to visit again :)
Food was really good and portions generous specially for a Restaurant Week menu. Had the Salmon, which is the best salmon I have ever had. Service by David was excellent, anticipating our needs with a great smile.
Decor is spectacular. Skip dessert, which is a bit less impressive, and stick to more fish.
Went for restaurant week lunch and was pleased with the options, including the discounted wines by the glass and dessert supplement. Server was very attentive even though I was a woman eating alone among power lunchers. Food was good for the price point. Be prepared for Soho-sized portions and don't just rely on an entree alone for your meal.
Last day of work
Love the atmosphere; it’s like sitting in a large yacht on smooth seas!! Great pour on the cocktails!!
James was our server, great suggestions and very attentive!!
I had the artichoke ravioli followed by the diver scallops and my colleague had the tuna tartar, followed by the nut encrusted tuna meal - all outstanding. Shared the chocolate mousse, I loved it, not so much by my guest.
Not my first time here and most definitely not my last!!!
The meal was delicious, as it always is. However, the whole experience was tarnished with the waiter named Adam (who had an attitude problem from the start) coming to ask if the bill was ready to pay 3 times. My party and I felt like the restaurant was kicking us out. We were informed at time of seating that they would need the table by 8pm however it was only 7:25pm. A young man from Lure came and asked how our experience was. I described the experience to him. His response was one where a.) it didn’t make sense b.). he couldn’t even look me straight in the eye as he was rolling his eyes c.) he offered us drinks but at that point, we were disgusted and left.
Lure is a great establishment however the service needs a facelift and retraining for staff to be more sensitive and more courteous. Act like you want to work there because your attitude affects the customer’s experience.
After being a loyal customer for years, I will never return due to the experience I had.
Great overall. Just a fantastic place to eat.
Great seafood restaurant, blending contemporary American with Japanese - and great desserts!
Great booth for a get together. Nice size portions for restaurant week. Acccommodating on food options!
Great choices for restaurant week. (I am often disappointed with the options on the menu during restaurant week, this however was perfect!) I had the tuna tartare, salmon, and the most amazing chocolate mousse, which was probably my favorite out of the three.
The nicest staff always friendly
my business college and i were in the neighborhood for a press event that our company was having. we knew that lure was in the neighborhood and both had never been, so we decided to go. we totally lucked out because it happened to be restaurant week, so we were pleasantly surprised by the special menu that was being offered for the occasion. our meals were delicious and our server was extremely pleasant and amiable. we both would come back with more people to have a full dinner.
Very nice attentive waiter. Gave us a good table, great about holding my credit card left behind. This will be a regular spot for me.
Everything was wonderful from start to finish. Fresh fish cooked perfectly and the wait staff was on point. We will definitely be back.
We waited for the food for more than one hour. We celebrated a special occasion of a marriage and no one gave it any special or different attention.
Lure continues to deliver exceptional and creative dishes; from the lollypop buffalo wings to the jalapeno infused sushi to the freshest Japanese oysters. Save room for desert; must get the homemade ice cream sandwiches. The service is fantastic as are the innovative cocktails. Superior wine list. Oh, you want a burger? They have that too!
Food was amazing and service as well.. My steak was perfectly cooked and the tuna was extremely fresh
We came in for our 1 year anniversary & my wife’s first time dining with Lure. Our experience of dining and eating was great. All the food was definitely made with TLC. We also loved the in house Sommelier, she paired my wife and I with 3 good wines for each course. Our server was a little stand offish and unfriendly but he could have very easily been having a bad day. Overall good time!
Loved the food and the service. We will definitely come back again.
Great seafood options spanning fish and sushi. Nice selection of sake as well.
My favorite place to dine for all events. Food is always on point.
We were seated on time and greeted nicely.
The noise level is quite loud and the restaurant wasn’t nearly filled up. Initial ordering went well, but we were wondering what took oysters 25 minutes to be served.
Dinner was good, a bit over seasoned for Diver scallops.
Sushi prices were ridiculous.
A bit overrated. Dinner for two - no drinks ; no desert was close to $150.
Great local restaurant and bar. Marvelous sommeleir Mariah.
My friends and I wanted to check out the “cruise” ship concept.. upon our arrival we were immediately seated.. The interior does resemble a cruise ship. There’s seating for large parties, couples and private rooms.
Our server “Ana” was amazing.. engaging, personable.
The food was delicious..From the specialty drinks to the lobster .. One of my favs was the crispy rice sushi!
Their share platter( make sure to ask price)could feed more than 2.
Leave room for dessert, the chocolate cake is decadent!
We thoroughly enjoyed our “cruise”.. sans the motion sickness
I have eaten at this restaurant many times over the years and this was my first time back since Mallory Hagan left the restaurant (after being crowned Miss America!). However, on this occasion I left very disappointed. I ordered the lobster roll. I had had it previously and it was chunks of lobster but now it is this chopped salad with other ingredients mixed in. They need to list this as lobster salad on a slice of brioche toast because this was not a lobster roll. I was still willing to give it a try. When the item arrived the mayo or dressing on the item was sour. I told my waitress and she took it away and they let me order something else. However, there was no apology or recognition that this should never have been served. At a restaurant of this caliber they offered nothing by way of “let me pick up your cocktail” or “your sushi roll is on us”. It felt like eat your food and leave. This is not the restaurant or experience I remember or previously had here. I had 2 cocktails, 2 Alaskan Crab sushi rolls, and 4 Ikura, and my bill was $115 and I still left a $20 tip.
Everything was very good. A nice variety of food to choose from. We have added this restaurant to our list of favorites.
The sushi was so fresh and delicious. Def will be back
Complimentary deviled eggs! Lovely service.
Josh Capon's restaurants always exude not only fantastic food - but love from the kitchen! Lure is always a winner!! Highly recommend!!!!!
Always outstanding, excellent food, great service, extensive choices!
The server forgot some of our order and was not very attentive. They missed out on us ordering another $100 bottle of wine because of that!!
I can't say enough about Lure. We make it a point to come here every time we are in NYC. The service is always top notch and the food is to die for. Love the ambience and décor of a ship but it's on land in NYC. Stop by and have a bite if you like seafood. I am sure there are other food selections for land lovers but we only go here for the seafood. You won't regret it.
Excellent location and service. Friendly front staff. Tables next to the bar area can be very noisy
Good food. Good service. Nice ambience. Comfortable but upscale.
Delicious and abundant warm home-made potato chips and delicious warm edamame were immediately placed on the table. Very comfortable seating and excellent service and food---as always!
Lure is my go-to time and time again-- and it never fails to impress! I absolutely love the tempura shrimp appetizer, it's a large portion and absolutely delicious. I also highly recommend their house-made gin lychee martini!
