Lupo Restaurant & Vinoteca Ratings and Reviews
This is one of my favorite spots to have a classy wine and dine at. The servers have excellent knowledge about menu items and drinks and it always ends up being such a great night. I definitely recommend this place to all for a special date or even a great night out with friends/family. Third time here and it’s always consistent.
The food at Lupo was fantastic! The ambiance is quaint, warm and inviting. We enjoyed a lovely bottle of wine from Italy, overlooking the street from our cozy table for two! Very romantic. While I loved my pasta dish, my husband raved about his dry aged rib-eye. Next time we are in Vancouver, we will definitely eat at Lupo.
Came here for my wedding anniversary and had a lovely time. Our server was very friendly and attentive, the food was fantastic and the atmosphere was perfect for a cozy anniversary dinner. Would highly recommend to friends. Thanks for the great evening, Lupo!
Very disappointing dinner. Discovered this place a few years ago and loved the food. Last 2 times I've been this year, food was blend, extremely buttery and over priced for the extra small portion. Paid $34 for 4 pieces of prosuto and thyme caprese special was so insignificant you couldn't call it a salad. Small portion of cheese not tasty.
Very tasty Italian food with great service. Perfect for a special occasion or date night. Expensive but worth the money- I have a pet peeve about over charging for sub-par food- this was not the case. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious- we are willing to pay more for a great meal. We don’t get to Vancouver often, but we will be back if ever in the area again.
Went for dinner before the Jesse Cook show at the Queen Elizabeth Theater. I had the Wild Salmon which was very tasty and also the Beet salad, also very good. Conveniently located, great service and food. Situated in an Heritage house, the small rooms are cozy and quiet and we had a window table that allowed us to watch a steady stream of activity. very pleased with the experience.
We were looking for a nice restaurant near the Queen Elizabeth Theatre and came upon Lupo (we are out of towners but are very familiar with Vancouver). Because it’s so close by we decided to give it a try. We had a spectacular meal and we each had a lovely glass of wine, expertly recommended by our server to complement our menu choices. Loved the ambiance and will come back again when we have more time to linger.
Food imaginative and very well presented with excellent attention to contrasting flavors. Service could have been better as one of the appetitizers ordered for the entire table was not served. Restaurant was a bit noisy but probably due to the full house and was not intolerable. Would enjoy seeing a broader selection of lower priced Italian wines of which there are many excellent ones available. One of my favorite restaurants in Vancouver.
Low budget liquor for cocktails. Stuck in a corner staring at emergency exit. Very confined space. Cramped tables. Hard surfaces ricochet noise from everywhere. Food ok but no better than small Italian restaurant down the street at half the price with better atmosphere. Overall, very expensive and very average.
It was a bit busy so we did have to wait an extra 15 minutes even with our reservation. We found the service to be nothing too extraordinary but it was good. My experience this time around paled in comparison to my experience at Lupo 3 years ago, but the food was still very good and the pastas were amazing!
Perfect dining before a performance at the QE, Lupo puts on a wonderful show of their own. The fresh, seasonal food is beautifully presented, and staff are gracious and efficient. My husband and I shared sumptuous linguini with fresh truffles shaved at the table, then gorgeous melt-in-your-mouth sable fish with lovely local vegetables. Thank you to the owner, chef and staff!
Was staying in town to attend a concert at Rogers Arena. Wasn't planning on spending a lot for dinner beforehand, however most of the mid-priced restaurants were booked up. I had been to Lupo for lunch and a dinner previously so, I thought why not. So we booked and got there right on time. Immediately taken to our reserved table. Lately we have been to a couple of higher end restaurants in Vancouver and have noticed the service a little lacking. I know Vancouver restaurants are having issues retaining good service staff. However at Lupo, this was not the case. The server was, spot on. She was attentive and personal without overdoing it. Wine list was good, the food was excellent. I had the beef short rib. Perfect! Seared outside, fall of the bone tender, with the right amount of accompaniments. Couldn't ask for more... but we did and dessert was great as well, plus they know how to make a smooth espresso! So... a pleasant and enjoyable experience all around.
Lupo came very highly recommended. It was our first experience and it was truly outstanding. The service was fabulous. Staff were very accomodating. We had lots to catch up on and our server was attentive but respected that we were in no hurry. We had the specials for appies and main course. Absolutely devine! The BC wine we chose was terrific as well. Lupo is a dining destination and a must do for anyone living in or visiting Vancouver.
We went there for our 10 years wedding anniversary and it was the perfect place to be for a special occasion like that. The waiter was very nice, professional and helpful. She took care of us in a pleasant way. The food was very good. The burrata was really tasty and fresh, the tagliolini with mushrooms were amazing and the scaloppine with prosciutto perfectly cooked and tasty. Nobody push us to pay and we stay there as long as we like. For one night I forgot I wasn’t in Italy.
I have heard about Lupo for some time now and finally got around to trying it and I guess I must have built it up in my head but it was really not all that great. I ordered the lobster and the peas in the risotto were hard and the lobster just tasted bland. I did also order the cheesecake and that was delicious. Service was very good though I ran a bit late for our reservation and they sat us right away no waiting was required.
