Lupo Restaurant & Vinoteca
Fantastic all through
The service was totally rushed, no time to breathe between dishes until dessert and then it took forever. Rosie level was extremely high and the prices were too high for what you got.
Excellent service and good food!
Excellent food and service
Everything is good, but it would be better if there can be more dessert options.
Delicious as always and impeccable service. I like that it’s not a big bar scene here, more intimidate fine dining.
Great food, service and atmosphere!
We were here for New Year’s Eve dinner and it’s the second time at Lupo for dinner. We loved it so much our first time 4 months ago. We loved everything from the ambience to the excellent service, to the amazingly delicious Italian food! We are definitely coming back for more as this restaurant is only a 10 minute walk from us and delivers stellar service with high quality dishes. They even serve my favourite olives with their martinis (castelvatreno olives)! Try this restaurant out for a special occasion - you will not be disappointed! 🙌🏽
NYE dinner. Matthew was our waiter and he was very good. Food was amazing and we had a wonderful time.
Went for New Years Eve dinner! Service, food, overall experience was superb! This was the third year in a row there for New Years Eve! I can’t wait for next year!
The environment was very interesting. The heritage house was repurposed into this restaurant. The service was excellent. The food was a bit pricey but well worth it!!! Very high end cuisine! Beyond Excellent food experience!
Excelente lugar, buen ambiente y cómoda deliciosa
Lupo is the best restaurant in Vancouver. I’m in town from Toronto once or twice a month and without fail will dine at Lupo every time. The menu is a great balance of classic dishes and more modern preparations with something for everyone. I’ll admit that at first glance some of the prices can seem a little rich (there’s a side Caesar salad for $16 I order every time) but they truly are justified by the very apparent quality of ingredients and skill of the kitchen. I have never had a bite of food here that I didn’t enjoy or left feeling I didn’t get an excellent value despite the price. Service is top notch, very knowledgeable waitstaff, friendly, professional and courteous. I have had Christina as a server several times by myself and with guests, she’s fantastic. Lupo is a great choice for any occasion - a casual dinner, date or business meal would all be appropriate here. Can’t say enough good things.
Lovely food expensive but worth it. Amazing experience lots great food.
Service was very awkward. We were not greeted and waiter started to list a bunch of their specials. It was so overwhelming because every course had two specials of the day. no price associated nor did they server know when we asked and had to check with the kitchen each time. Lack of anything written so we couldn't even remember what the first special was after he listed the last one. There was no explanation of the dishes after they were served as they were just dropped off and took off. Even at the end when the dishes were cleared they just said nothing and 5 minutes later dropped off their desert menu. Within 5 minutes the server came back with the machine assuming we didn't want the desert. Very unimpressed. Definitely expected more for paying this price.
Excellent food and great service in a beautiful setting.
Food was really good but I found it too noisy so at times, it was hard for my partner and I to hear what each other is saying. The food was served extremely fast. I had the taglierini which was simple but amazing. For dessert we had the tiramisu and passion fruit delice. The tiramisu was pretty good but the passion fruit delice was just okay. I feel the desserts were overpriced. I would probably return in the future for special occasions only.
Try to get to Lupo every time I go to Vancouver
Always great Italian food
It was a lovely evening, but not amazing.
Maybe bad timing. Young casual kids are having BD party close by and bit different ambiance. It was just unfortunate . Foods were good as usual.
Service was terrific. My veal porterhouse was tougher than i thought it would be and therefore didn’t finish it. My husband enjoyed his pasta. The salads were great.
The food was Fabulous! Great service! It was a lovely place, cute house transformed into a dining room. It was a bit loud, but I found it gave us more a sense of privacy.
Overall it was a nice restaurant with good food. The only knock is that the appetizers we super small. Definitely not worth what they were charging. That detail kind of set the tone for the rest of the meal so it was an uphill battle to really enjoy the meal
It was a foodie taste adventure on the palates..you could taste the love of food in with every bite. We had an assorted plate with goat cheese and vegetables and a basil olive oil puree..
The spinach ravioli was beyond delicious..we also got to experience home made sorbet and tiramisu..its an old house where this restaurant sits you can see and feel the character.. our server Michael was friendly and knowledgeable and one of our chefs lubo created our plates that had a visual and taste appeal that was a wonderful and memorable experience for us both.
Outstanding. Ambiance, service, food quality - all excellent right from the beginning of entering the front door. Also, much appreciate the ability of Lupo to extend the fixed menu to our group of 6 as it is normally offered for groups of 8. My staff loved Lupo and it was great to have our staff Christmas dinner there. We will all be back!
The Fettucini with Black Truffles...best thing I have ever eaten!
Birthday dinner before The Tenors concert at Queen Elizabeth Theatre. Service was impeccable and menu recommendations were amazing!!! One of the best meals I have ever had😊👍
Simply amazing! Hands down the BEST Italian I've ever had! My only regret is that I've lived in Vancouver over 20 years and didn't go sooner! Will be frequenting this place from now on.
Service was excellent. Food was delicious. Ambiance was great.
Excellent food and wine pairing. Beautiful place and home feel.
Delicious food and the service was great. The only.tbibhs that wasn't 5 starts we're the desserts. They took quite a bit to get to us and we were a bit disappointed in them. The tart was a baked a bit longer cause it was a darker brown on top and hard to cut through. The torte was also really hard to cut through and very much just one flavor. Aside from that the food was sooo good!
Always delicious. Fresh made pasta. Outstanding truffles only in season right now. Fabulous meal
Always our favourite restaurant and it didn’t disappoint this time. Service is outstanding and the specials are always fantastic. The truffle fettuccine is the best.
Lupo has been top of our list for favourite resturant in Vancouver for years now. Never disappoints. In a lovely old home, central downtown location. Quiet ambiance, white table cloths, impeccably trained staff, delicious Italian food. My husband always hopes sable fish will be the special & I hope the ravioli!
OMG...the Black Truffle Fettucini...best thing I have ever eaten!!
Also service was impeccable, atmosphere very relaxing...overall, I can't wait to be back!
Server described the specials way too fast it was impossible to keep up.. she was an older woman.. but she talked too fast she should definitely slow down.
There was a very long gap between starter and main course. The server attributed it to me ordering the veal chop medium instead of medium rare, but I doubt that was the reason, because when the veal was served it was actually lukewarm. My girlfriend had the rack of lamb which was a much better dish.
Wine selection with the sommelier was excellent though and it made up for the substandard food service
Cozy house like setting with a great wine list. Pasta is Superb. Service is first rate. I have never had anything but a spectacular dish and have hosted dinners with more than 18 people.
We came in at 7:05pm and I mentioned to our waiter that we will be going to a concert after so we will need to leave by 8:45-ish. She said no problem. They serve us at 8:20pm!!! It took forever! (Which wouldn't have been a problem except today we were short of time and we let the restaurant know about it in advance)
I had Veal Porterhouse and , boy, was it a workout! Both to cut it and to chew! The second finger on my left hand was literary hurting from trying to hold this piece of meat with my fork while I was trying to cut it... Very unexpected and disappointing!
My daughter had the same dish , but was fairly ok with it. The waiter who was attending our table only asked my daughter about the dish, and never made eye contact with me so I had no chance to say anything about my experience. She asked one person (the youngest in the group of 4) and left right away! I could have yelled in the attempt to get her attention, of course, but that would have ruined the experience for everyone else.
I had been to this restaurant for several times, and never had been disappointed with the food. Unfortunately, I had a very bad experience today!
The olive oil that came with the bread was very plain - no flavor or taste or aroma.
It was also way too noisy and very crowded for the fine restaurant.
This restaurant is very expensive (20$ for 3 meatballs??) but our waiter was very knowledgeable and experienced. I don't remember his name unfortunately, but we were there on Friday November 22nd at 5pm on the top floor. Hopefully this helps you identify the server so he can be recognized for his hard work! The ambiance is lovely, the food was very good and the service was excellent. We will be returning!
The food was absolutely incredible! My girlfriend and I loved how flavourful it was. We really enjoyed the environment and we were especially fond of our server. Matthew made us feel welcomed and appreciated for choosing to have our special night at Lupo!
