Lupo Restaurant & Vinoteca
First time coming here, we had browsed the menu online which then realized it was not updated when we got there. So they did not have what we thought we were gonna order. Place was a tad squishy in my opinion. But overall food was amazing and tasty!
Excellent meal and excellent service.
I stopped by for a pre-concert meal with my ten-year-old for her birthday. We had an early seating and a great table by the window in the front room on the main floor. I hadn't been here in at least fifteen years, and though it's now more modern a room than what I remember, it's retained its comfortable feel of eating in someone's home. I'd call it more comfort dining than fine dining, the only difference being the small details that can only be handled with a larger staff. My daughter and I both enjoyed our meals and the restaurant was able to simply accommodate a slightly smaller portion of a menu item for my girl which I far prefer to having to deal with crappy "kids menus" that are more common in North America. The waitress was well-equipped to describe the menu options and I'm positive could have rolled with all kinds of table ordering strategies and levels of snootiness. She was really great actually. Nice wine list. Loved the Lupo Negroni and the grappa selection too. The creme brule was a great end to the meal. Well done!
My wife and I have been to Lupo a couple of times now. Both times the food and service has been outstanding. The portions are just right, you could probably take a small box to go but it's so flavorful we cannot seem to do so.
Wonderful! Will go back again when in Vancouver!
Fabulous meal...wonderful service. We will be back. Had a lively lovely table by the window.
The food was amazing. We both had the octopus. My wife enjoyed her quail while my steak was excellent. A shared artistic and delicious dessert topped the meal. There was no recognition of our special occasion and no lemon cello after the meal either. The service was efficient.
Just outstanding as usual
Food should be better and dishes more generous. Service and waiter’s lack of experience reduced overall experience. This restaurant used to be great but now needs to become better.
Had not been back to Lupo in a while. It was wonderful to see that the food is still excellent and must say that our server was the best. Will definitely be back soon.
We loved every dish. We shared each and they were great about splitting them for us. Incredible focaccia, excellent truffle pasta, delicious and bright salad, black cod might have been my least favorite but still really good, perfect genuine tiramisu. Excellent service. Just go!
This was a great choice for dinner before our downtown event.
Incredibly great food and a very comfortable atmosphere.
Very cozy, homie feel to the restaurant. Great option for a date night.
Lupo never, EVER disappoints. My partner and I come here for special occasions (or whenever we get a LUPO craving) and take out of town visitors to this restaurant because we know it will always be an amazing experience. Their food is outstanding and the cute homey/house "feel" makes you immediately feel comfortable and cozy and the quality of food is always superb.
Food was amazing!
Our waiter was okay but could have been a bit friendlier. Other than that, it was a good way to spend a birthday!
Don’t order gluten free it’s no good lamb shank was awesome fettuccine lemon Was excellent
Excellent service and food we will be back! Thank you!
We love the food and atmosphere at Lupo, and have been multiple times. This time we went for an early seating before leaving the city for the evening, and that was a mistake. The server was clearly trying to rush us out of there so they could turn over the table, even though we ordered 3 courses and a bottle of wine. She also pulled the unimpressive trick of asking if we wanted bread for the table, without mentioning it is an extra (costs $5). The price isn't a big deal, but the clear intent to just do a sneaky up-sell was disappointing. Overall despite a delicious dinner, we were made to feel unwelcome - not a winning business strategy with regular patrons who appreciate enjoying a leisurely dinner, no matter what time we arrive at the restaurant.
Delicious food and wine. The service was good, but would have preferred a bit more personality out of the server. Also didn’t really like that it was a slower evening and he didn’t take my payment and got someone else to do it for him. Also would have loved if the lighting was dimmed a bit more. Overall the experience was great and will definitely be back for the food!
We hadn't been to Lupo in a while - at least 2 years - and we were pleased to find that the high standards had been maintained. Great place for a business dinner or for a table for two.
Everything was perfect, service, impeccable food, great menu and attention to detail from staff.
we will return, absolutely
Wonderful, as usual!!
Fabulous ambience. What a beautiful building. There was a restaurant in Invermere, BC, called Strands that was also a converted Victorian home. So reminiscent.
Wait staff was amazing, attentive but not in your face.
Quality of food and presentation....fabulous.
Amazing wine list, but too many high end, with only a few more affordable good wines. I would suggest a better balance with, perhaps, a few Rosso di Montalcino, for example rather than so many Brunellos, and I could only find 3 Chianti's but so many super Tuscans. Not everyone has hundreds of dollars for wines.
Our waiter knew we were heading to the Elton John concert so warned us to order promptly so as to not get delayed in heading to the show. I presume, on non-concert evenings we could have enjoyed a relaxed and prolonged meal.
Will definitely return.
We love Lupo!!!
Always a great night at Lupo. Amazing service and exceptional flavours. One of our favorite places.
Wait was over an hour and my husband's steak was inedible. They didn't charge us for it and comped wine when we complained, but the experience was terrible.
The food quality and service was not the same as our previous dining experience. It was lacking in all areas.
The absence of loud background music made our evening perfect. Everyone engaged in the conversation and no one had to raise their voices to be heard.
Food was fair and overpriced. The wait staff were frenetic and their operating space was confined.
Our experiance was amazing. Excellent food, superb service. Fantastic ambience. Recomend to everybody
Wonderful dining experience in an old converted two story house.
Hard to choose menu , mouth watering specials .
Wine ,food & service at it’s best .

Just arrived in town and was looking for a quality meal ... couldn’t believe our luck when we found Lupo. It had it all, great atmosphere, imaginative food and outstanding service. Thoroughly recommendable.
So a celiac, three vegetarians, and two omnivores walk into a Yaletown restaurant . . .and all find food and wine that they love! That's the punch line from our recent pre-concert dinner at Lupo. Besides the varied menu and inventive cooking, there's an excellent wine list, charming ambience, low noise level, convenient location, and efficient and friendly staff. Lupo is now our favourite restaurant in Vancouver. Highly recommended!
Celebrating a colleagues retirement
Absolutely fabulous! I would go back and in a minute. Thanks
We have eaten at Lupo several times a year over the past 20 years. It has never disappointed- it is always excellent. On our most recent visit (09Sep) we had burrata and stuffed calamari as appetizers and the black truffle fettuccine special and rabbit pappardelle as our main courses. The burrata had an excellent texture and came with some tasty greens and small tomatoes. The calamari plate was innovative and well conceived and executed. The fettucccine was done perfectly al dente and the truffles were sufficient to provide the special truffle flavor but not overwhelm the dish. The pappardelle was an excellent pasta to pair with the rabbit ragout- the whole combination had very good overall and separate tastes. It is always worthwhile to get the excellent focaccia which is provided with a very smooth olive oil dipping dish. The wines by the glass (chardonnay and montepuliciano) were well chosen and reasonably priced. The service was excellent as always. The front room is very pleasant but can be noisy with sounds bouncing off the bare walls. Having eaten at some excellent restaurants in Rome and Florence earlier in summer, we find that Lupo is on a par with some of the highly regarded restaurants there (it was better, for example, than Grappolo d’Oro). Lupo is always an excellent choice.
Lupo is still the best restaurant in Vancouver for food, service, and ambiance.
The food is consistently wonderful!
