Lupo Restaurant & Vinoteca
Excellent service and excellent food
Unfortunately, the quality of the menu was opaqued by the extremely loud table next to us. The host nor the waiters did or said nothing to stop their over-exaggerated laughter, yells and vaping... yes one of them was vaping as if he was sitting on a bench by the lake....
Always great. Everything was delicious and the service was very friendly and helpful
Lovely Italian restaurant with intimate rooms and excellent service. Everyone enjoyed their appetizers and entrees from the fresh warm bread with Olive oil, our salad and fresh muscles as appetizers, and delicious pastas.
We were treated to some Moscato since we were celebrating a special birthday. We would highly recommend Lupo for special occasions or romantic dinner.
Lupo was highly recommended to us by a friend -so we were looking forward to our dining experience. Unfortunately, we didn't receive the service we were expecting from such a fine restaurant. Our waiter, Brad, seemed indifferent to our party of three, leaving us unattended for unprofessionally long periods of time. Initially, we were expecting a fourth person who ended up not joining us, so the waiter claimed he didn't attend to us because he was waiting for the last member of our party to arrive. If that were the case, he should have communicated that to us rather than just leave us floundering. On two occasions we had to get up from the table and find our bottle of wine and top up our glasses. Once we were ready to order, he rattled off the specials so fast that we couldn't understand half of what he said. We felt like we were more of inconvenience than paying guests of Lupo's. With a city full of such fine restaurants - you may want to pass on Lupo.
Love this restaurant! . The staff was very attentive and food was delicious.
Lovely meal, excellent service! Ask for the specials before you commit to a menu entree, they were delicious!
Our dinner was a 'date night' gift from our children (we are seniors!) We had no idea what to expect, and were delightfully surprised. The location and surroundings are wonderful, and the old-fashioned look and feel of the setting were utterly charming. Our dinner was one of the best meals either of us have ever eaten. We cruise often, and would like to send the cruise ship chefs to you for lessons!! We have sung your praises loud and clear to everyone we have spoken to since our dinner, and have already begun looking for another excuse to dine with you. AMAZING! (And many, many thanks to our son and daughter-in-law for the best Christmas treat ever!)
Great evening spent at Lupo before seeing a show at Queen Elizabeth Theatre.
Great food and our waiter was very helpful with wine selection. Didn’t push the most expensive. He was also very help with menu choices
We thought this restaurant was so good that we took two sets of people there on two different occasions during our last visit to Vancouver. Everyone ate everything on their plates it was so good! Loved the cosy atmosphere and noise level was lower so that we could easily talk. Would definitely return!
The whole place was well done from the ambience, decor, friendliness of the staff, and of course the food and beverages. Matthew was fantastic. Thanks again!
Great dinner at Lupo.
The service and the food were both excellent. The staff were very attentive and they went out of their way to help us celebrate a birthday, thank you.
They were out of two of the items we were interested in, which was a little disappointing. I also thought it was odd that the appetizers were served on oversized plates, yet the tables are small. We shared 2 appetizers between the four of us and it was awkward. Nothing could detract from the meal however.
Nice Italian restaurant in a house. Great food, service started off well, but by the end of the evening it felt like the staff didn't want or have the desire to cater to us. We had reservations for 9 pm, so if you'd like to try this restaurant, I'd recommend going earlier as the staff may be more accommodating.
Food was pretty good, service was attentive but very condescending. They made it clear that they didnt want us there even though we racked up quite a bill
Delicious- one can always count on delicious food!
First Class. Service knowledgeable and friendly without being familiar. Food - excellent.
Any caveat should be regarded as minor and not a deal breaker. Tables - a tad too close together, cannelloni just warm - plate scalding hot! Would work for romantic evening, family meal or business.
All round has become my 'go to' Vancouver restaurant.
Went 2 nights in a row because the kids begged to go back because it is their "favorite restaurant in the world!"
It's not cheap, but it really is fantastic. There isn't a single thing on the menu that I'v had (6 pastas, soup, 3 meats, 3 desserts and 2 appetizers served family style) that wasn't a delight to eat. At the end of every meal in a new restaurant we do a round table "Ok...so what do you think?" According to my family of 6 ( including a 9 year old who can pick out spices in dishes across cultures and talks about complimentary flavors across dishes and across meals), This is my family's "favorite restaurant in the world."
Food was wonderful but it took forever to get our bill and also a long wait to get our coats which were freezing when they were brought up from the basement.
Everything about our experience was fantastic: the severs were very attentive and answered all of our questions about the menu; the three pasta dishes we ordered were cooked to perfection; and the atmosphere was very refined, yet cozy. Would highly recommend this restaurant!
My wife and I ate here the same weekend last year and had a much more enjoyable experience. It was seamless. This year, not so much. Our server and the food were still very good, but a bit off the exemplary levels of last year. We were seated near the kitchen, under a speaker, and near a loud table of about 8-10. So loud we could often not hear the server. My wife was almost run over by another server hustling food out of the kitchen and she neither yielded or even acknowledged the near collision. I like Lupo for sentimental reasons and it's generally great food and service, but will spend my $400 + elsewhere next year.
Very nice but not 5 stars worth. Lupo is a fine restaurant, service is great and the staff is very pleasant. The food is very well prepared and tasty but isn’t at the level you would expect, given their prices.
Food was amazing.. so rich and great quality.. very focused on food .. had a Duck dish and pasta with sea food.. 👌🏼👌🏼..
But the service was bad. Felt waiter keep rushing us and keep taking our drinks menu away. Not a friendly..
As always Lupo does not disappoint, great food in a cozy environment with great service. Wine list is also great with a wide variety of price ranges for the benefit of all guests.
This place is way too overrated for the quality of food
The service was unquestionably spot on. The food, or rather the execution was troubling from the time we received our main courses. She had the salmon and seemed to enjoy it, but the lamb shank was really a traditional Mediterranean style lamb shank and not the Osso Bucco style promised. Let me get back to execution; the lamb shank was cooked to perfection but was gamier than expected. I would however like to return to sample some of the more traditional pasta dishes, as that is the fare that I’ve heard the most positive reviews about.
The food was okay. The vegetables and gnocchi was overcooked and mushy, and the pasta was slightly undercooked... Valentine's day night must be quite busy but the service could be better. Seemed like the server did not want to spend more time or attention. We expected more from this place.
This little gem is well worth the slightly higher prices. The food and service was excellent and the wait staff was very knowledgeable about food allergies, which is important for both of us. A great spot for a romantic night out.
Our first night in Vancouver. The best Italian restaurant we could hope for around the corner from our hotel. The food was all beaurifully cooked and presented and the wine proved a good choice for reasonable charge. It worked out a higher cost than we would usually pay at $220 CND including tax and tip but totally worth it. Thank you Lupo for a wonderful evening!
Always a go-to restaurant for our gamily’s Special occasions.
Amazing!! Went for my 30th birthday dinner. Brad was very attentive and made amazing suggestions. Service was fast, food was delicious, and loved the cozy atmosphere!
Great meal and impeccable service!
Food was amazing! I had the braised short rib and it was VERY good! Can’t wait to go back!
Good food and great service! This is to fill up the balance of the characters requested for this survey. I think the first 5 words say enough, take this minimum characters out.
The service was great and the food was fantastic. The old house setting is very inviting and romantic. We would definitely come back again and again.
From start to end, the food was absolutly delicious. You feel like you are in Italy (Sorrento/Roma/Naple kind of restaurants)
Outstanding experience as always! Food and service second to none! Bravo Lupo!
Dining in a heritage house provided the perfect homey atmosphere for a relaxing dinner with friends. The servers were all friendly and I appreciated that they treated us as if we were guests in their home. The relaxing atmosphere took nothing away from the quality of food served to us. The meal was perfectly cooked and seasoned. While I can't confirm because I didn't go in the kitchen, the pasta tasted as if it was made just before cooking. We all ordered different entrees and everybody thoroughly enjoyed their meal. We could taste the freshness of their ingredients and the selection of wines were fantastic as well. I have nothing negative to say. If we lived closer, we would probably dine here on a much more regular basis. But for now, it is where we will go for special dinners with special friends.
Outstanding dinner and terrific personalised service in a great atmosphere
