Lupa is amongst our favorite places. Please elect not to go so we can!
We love Lupa. It's a birthday tradition! Tortelloni, and the Bolognese are our favorites.
The food at this unassuming neighborhood restaurant is truly outstanding. Whenever there if a fish "special" go for it, as it is exquisitely prepared, never overcooked. The dish can be quite simple, sometimes just a bit of butter, lemon and light garlic, but filled with flavor.
Nice neighborhood restaurant. Food was quite enjoyable. Salad was excellent. Took a friend from out of town. Unlike many places, the noise level was low enough that we could actually talk and hear each other! That alone made it great for a visit with a friend.
Food is always fantastic, great service, and reasonable prices.
Lupa is a fantastic neighborhood trattoria. We love the food, service, and the atmosphere. The pastas are all tasty (especially the fettucine with black truffle sauce), and the ambiance is wonderful for a casual night out. The owner and waiters always make us feel extra welcome, and even when it is crowded, we can still hear each other (my husband has a rather soft voice). The wines are all Italian but high quality. The service is swift and very friendly. It is one of our favorite San Francisco restaurants. Enjoy.
Food is always reliable. I wish they would change the menu though. I've been to Lupa several times over the years and the same items are on the menu. This is your neighborhood go-to place.
Best meal and service in SF
We were sat directly next to a gaggle of children who were extremely loud. Very Noe valley. Luck of the draw, not the restaurant’s fault. Veal special was underwhelming; the potatoes tasted like they were from a box, greens weren’t seasoned at all. The gnocchi dish with boar was delicious.
Great dishes! Will definitely be back. Enjoyed the lasagne very much.
Such a nice and cozy spot! The staff is so friendly and welcoming, we all felt really comfortable there. The food was superb and cooked perfectly. I had the lamb chops which were so juicy and tasty! My friend had the seafood spaghetti which was also delicious and had such a unique sauce in it. We also tried the carrot soup which wa surprisingly really nice and creamy and very good. Everything was amazing! Would recommend!
Excellent food. Good service. Unfortunately at our last visit high noise level
Great as usual
Our go-to Valentines day date. Always delicious, always lives up to our expectations. I wish we lived closer, we would go a whole lot more often!
The best classic Italian food in the city. Not touristy. Real local charm aboumds. The pasta are fresh, hand made, and perfectly cooked. The sauces are rich and complex. The service is as good as the food. This place is always in my top 5 favorite restaurants. If Michelin is listening, they deserve a star.
Outstanding neighborhood Italian restaurant. Excellent taste, service and ambiance. Never a bad meal. Pasta is first rate. Nightly specials. Very user friendly. Compared with all SF restaurants including the three star group I would place Lupa Trattoria in the top 5%.
Fantastic service and food
Never disappointed here. Will keep coming back.
Gear food, friendly service!
Dined here several times since moving from Scotland last year. Consistently good.
Good food and warm, if slightly loud, ambiance.
Friend got too stoned, greened out and passed out on the bench outside. Bench was comfortable 5/5, would recommend to pass out on.
Good neighborhood feel/small intimate space. Food was well prepared and tasty. It’s on the pricey side but what isn’t these days in SF? Big drawback was our waiter with a rather dour attitude - it kind of took the shine off an otherwise pleasant dining experience.
Excellent food and service. Creative menu. Great ‘vib’.
Really wonderful waiters who recommend delicious choices.
Consistently great Italian food. Love their Risotto. Quiet and convivial ambience. Friendly service.
Excellent food & service. All Italian wines. Noise level is VERY high, be aware!
Really enjoyed our dinner: Very good wine, food and service. We weren't rushed and from start to finish, positive in all aspects. We definitely recommend Lupa Trattoria. Enjoy!h
WOnderful food, wonderful service. No complaints at all.
Super rude manager with an attitude I've never experienced before in a restaurant. Even with a reservation, they let you wait for at least 30min to get a table since they overbook!
The food was really good! Even the Cesar salad flavor was good! I got the duck breast that ‘‘twas cooked to order. My date got then fish. Generous portion and not dry. We shared the bucatini which I loved! Moore’s cooked to perfection. Dessert was a nice ending to a really enjoyable meal!
This is our go-to Italian - and we are snobby on Italian having lived in NYC. We love it. Always have, and we'll always be coming back.
Also great authentic Italian food! I alway enjoy the in-season specials!
We've been going to Lupa since the restaurant opened in 2001. One of our absolute favorites! Food is amazing, and the service is even better. Highly recommended!
Love this place.
Just good food well cooked. Great neighborhood restaurant. Very consistent.
Food was just so so. I think mostly of the opinions saying how extraordinary is the pasta, are exaggerating. We order pasta and our opinion is not too good. Making pasta with Prego and parmesan cheese in home it will leave you more satisfied.
Very Pleasant neighborhood restaurant .
Great food/ great service / well priced.
Good service and good food.
I can't go back to Lupa's enough. The food is great, and the wait staff is fantastic! The staff is polite, accommodating and attentive to your every need. They make their own bread, and it is delicious! My guest raved about the Papadelle pasta with Italian sausage. The Alaskan halibut was done perfect for me. It is definitely 5 star quality in every way!
