The menu is based on the Italian tradition of preparing food - combining simplicity with the best ingredients of the season, including quality olive oil, locally grown local vegetables and fruits, and seasonal specials of seafood, poultry, meat and game. Our bread and pastas - gnocchi, tagliatelli, parpardelle, linguini, tortelloni, and ravioli are homemade on premise.
In addition to the regular menu, our specials menu features different soups, antipasti, pastas, and main courses.
Beyond a passion for authentic Roman cuisine, our friendly Italian staff work from their hearts to make your visit comfortable and enjoyable.
You will not be disappointed. The lasagna is one of the best I’ve ever had. Amazing service.
Authentic menu and amazing food, even if the staff was very friendly they could work on their service. This was a surprise birthday dinner and the instructions for bringing champagne etc was part of what didn’t really work. But the food makes me want to come back soon! Also a little warning since they don’t have AC.
last minute decision, i'll make sure we go back. nice neighborhood Italian
The server from Capri is the best. Always takes great care of us. The whole staff is always on point. And the food? Amazing. The pappardelle with lamb ragu is the perfect comfort food dish.
Angelina was a delight. We loved everything: saltimbocca, fettuccine tartufate - dessert panna cotta and a flourless chocolate cake both delicious
Perhaps the best Italian dinner we have had, & we have travelled in Italy.
Best lasagna I’ve ever had
The food was great. The service was great!
Great food, pleasant atmosphere, friendly and efficient service.
Excellent food, great service, not pretentious. A rare combination in SF. Not cheap, but worth it for a nice dinner out with friends or family. I prefer not to reveal this hidden gem, but I also want them to stay in business so I highly recommend!
Always enjoy eating at Lupa, great staff, great food and wonderful neighborhood feel.
Amazing lasagna! Great service! Good wine. Good value. Sadly, first courses are bland, especially salads.
Outstanding good with high quality ingredients and excellent service.
I would only suggest some candles in the tables. Amazing place simple and exquisite!
I read the reviews online and it went from 1's to 5's, my experience was in the middle. The food was just alright and I wouldn't go back, there are so many restaurants in SF/Noe Valley and this one was not memorable. Food lacked flavor and was over sauced. Dessert wasn't worth the extra calories. The noise level was great for conversation (which was nice). All in all - pick someplace else, this one was lackluster. Oh, and just FYI we brought an expensive bottle of wine from Italy (my friend was saving it for that night, it was her birthday) and they charged a $25 corkage fee.
dilapidated interior; walls dirty, table scratched, sticky floor.
I won't go back
Lupa's is an overall excellent restaurant. The staff is absolutely the best! The veal scallopini was very good. A couple minor negative points, the bread was cold, and the roasted potatoes were very salty, but overall, a good meal. Unquestionably, I shall return and this is my favorite place to take out of town guests!
Stefano is a fantastic host. The food is delicious and the service was excellent. They accommodated our dietary restrictions as well. Grazie Mille!
The place was filthy. When my cousin told the owner he got defensive and started to fight with him. He actually followed him out of the restaurant screaming at him. It was kind of scary and
Everything was delicious.
We had the Brussels sprout soup which was to die for! I had the spaghetti sea food and my guest another pasta dish which both were delicious! Lupa has great attentive service and nice ambience with consistent wonderful food.
Service: We were a party of 5, one of whom was a fussy 2-yo girl. Along with an available high-chair, they happened to have markers on hand to help keep her happy and were patient with our longer stay at the table. The recommended a superb wine that fit our needs, though it was a bit on the pricy end.
Food: The pasta was superbly cooked, and paired well with the accompanying sauces/meat. Cannot recommend the papardelle enough. The complimentary bread was warm and with a good crust. Saltimbocca special was a bit lacking in portions.
Great food. It's a bit on the expensive side and smaller portions but great taste! Would definitely go back again!
My husband and I had a very pleasant dinner - good food, attentive service, cheerful ambience. Our only complaint was the high noise level - we had trouble hearing each other talk.
Always a pleasure to come to Lupa. Food is great, waiters are super nice and I love the cozy atmosphere.
Very good food and service. The pasta arrabiata and salads were excellent. Relatively low noise, attentive waiters.
It’s a bit dowdy, but sort of cozy. However, you do not want to go on a cold evening. We kept our coats on the whole meal, and all the tableware was frigid to the touch. We did t out our hot appetizer on the small plates because they were too cold. Outstanding lasagne, lamb pasta and smoke mozzarella and mushrooms
This is a fantastic neighborhood spot for date night or a night out with friends! Very friendly service, delicious authentic dishes, and a relaxing atmosphere. Feels like coming home! Plus they offer a great wine list and amazing value. We'll definitely keep this one on the list!
Wonderful neighborhood place! Ambiance, food, and service were delightful. We’ll be back!
Good variety of choices on the menu. Attentive and friendly service. Nice Noe Valley restaurant.
Been here 3 times. Always good. Tonight was great. Saltimboca over mashed potatoes and spinach. The real star was the very ginger forward carrot soup. So nice to have food where the chef is not afraid to use powerful flavors and season the food correctly. Gonna have to come here more often.
Outstanding. The service (wish we remembered her name) was outstanding. The food authentic and top notch. Never a bad experience
Excellent food and service. I had the penne arrabiata and it was the best I've had in the city, I'll be back frequently for more! The desert was excellent also.
Having been to this restaurant three different time for entirely different types of occasions, we enjoyed it every time, as did those who were with us and experienced the restaurant for the first time. The food was great. The service was also. Without being obtrusive, the servers were around just enough to meet our needs and they did it with a smile.
Everything was fresh and delicious! What a great find.
Wonderful Italian food, excellent bread. However the noise level has gotten really bad there, and I don't think I would return because of it. If noise doesn't bother you, go for it. It's a really nice local restaurant.
Close to a 5 overall, the food really stood out. Service was excellent although we were a little confused as to who our waiter was. We will definitely be back.
This restaurant has an air of old world to it - and when inside you feel tucked away from the hectic life outside.
Cozy spot in Noe Valley. I have only been here 3 times in the past few years and every time it has been wonderful. The buratta and speck appetizer is one of my favorite dishes in the city. Plus, you can't go wrong with any of the pasta dishes. Servings are just right, not too big and not too small. Yum!
