I absolutely love Lungomare. Have been here over 10 times for various occasions and the food never disappoints. The flavors are on point, the wait staff are knowledgeable and friendly, and you can't really beat the view. When nice weather comes around they have a beautiful outdoor patio area. They also have a great happy hour, DJs on Friday and Saturday nights, and yummy brunches on weekends.
Our restaurant week menu was wonderful and a great value
Great place that I discovered during restaurant's week. Ravioli were delicious and our waitress the best!
Food is excellent and Sunday dinners are special Service is superb, especially for large groups
Food was portioned just right for healthy eating. Our waitress was very attentive, with wines refilled and plates cleaned away quickly. It was a very pleasant experience overall for Restaurant Week.
Went to Lungomare for the Oaklamd Resturant deal while on vacation, would certainly recommend to anyone. For $30, 3 course meal with endless wine on tap, great value with great options.
Had a little wait for the reservation, wasn't seated until 9pm but overall great experience.
Very average food, below average ambience. Felt like a corporate conference room. Could easily have made a better meal at home. Don't waste your time.
Our server, Olivia, was fantastic; however, the Hostess, could learn a little bit about Customer Service from our wonderful server. I knew I was going to be a bit late so I gave the restaurant a courtesy call. Instead of appreciating the call and look forward to my arrival, the (blond) Hostess said "...we are completely booked and may have to give your table away." Really??? When I got there (less than 15 minutes late for a 6pm reservations on a Friday evening), the restaurant was maybe 25% occupied, if that!
Olivia made our evening very enjoyable.
My friend and I had a great time at Lungomare. We ordered from their prix fixe menu during Oakland's restaurant week. For the appetizer I had the Red Flint Polenta with forest mushrooms that was really good. I don't remember the name of the main dish but it was a house made sausage rolled in pork belly and served with polenta and broccolini that was excellent! So was the endless glass of wine! Highly recommend it. Service was great as well.
Food was mediocre, waitress was rude but did a good job
The Thanksgiving dinner was really well done, but I have to say that it was the brunch that did it for me. The staff is good, but at times, can be slightly impatient. Regardless, have a relaxed, unhurried time with friends then walk outside to the farmers' market. P.s. The eggs benedict is AWESOME.
Service was decent. Third time here never exceptional service. Food was good.
New Years Eve should have been much more festive with more inside seating and party favors, next time less to no chairs at the bar
Outstanding brunch and impeccable service.
Everything was very good, including the delicious pistachio ice cream for dessert. One negative is that the ice cream was served in a plastic cup. The dishes, glassware and silverware are very nice. But to end the meal with ice cream served in plastic cups is short-sighted. Plastic cups!!??? Really!!!!?
Great estuary view from our table. Delicious dining experience. Knowlegible waiters and gracious staff.
I made a reservation and from front door to pay utter disappointment.
I researched it, so usually I can find great places wherever I work, not this place.
They tried to seat a reservation in front of the toilet in the bar, we arrived 5 minuets ahead of our 8pm res. I told the hostess no at that point she seated us in the dining room, extremely noisey. Server on arrival at our table was rude and the service went down hill from there. Salad on top of appetizer on top of main course then disappeared entirely until I had to track down the mgr for a ticket who didn't even ask about our dinning experience.
WORST $109.00 I ever spent. I recommend this place to those who don't want to talk to their dinning companions, want to shovel food in with a shovel and see themselves as unworthy of civil communication Denny's in Kona has a better view and servers from the homeless community that are not rude.
this isn't my first time at lungomare but it was for my date. i was really excited to bring him there for our christmas dinner but was really disappointed. the food quality and overall experience was nothing like it was the first time i visited. taste and presentation was mediocre and i was really disappointed we didn't love our meal. it was a very pale comparison to my first experience.
My family and I had dinner here and enjoyed their special Christmas menu. We all got different main dishes and they were all nice (the lubotini past, the swordfish and the crab risotto). We also ordered two antipasti and a salad. The salad (arugula) was so and so. Fresh ingredients but not that tasteful. The antipasti (grilled octopus and salmon with cheese) were good. However, both the antipasti and the main dishes were relatively small portions, especially considering their price. Overall, the food was good but a bit overpriced. Portions were towards the smaller size and the more expensive ingredients (such as the crab in the risotto) were even smaller. The service was good, but not exceptional. Granted, it was a busy day, but we had to remind our server a second time for our bottle of wine and the cheese plate we ordered as a dessert came quite later than the gelatos. If you are in the neighborhood, it's a good place to dine, but I wouldn't recommend it otherwise.
Food value was a bit over priced for quality. Portions other than salad were somewhat inadequate for main entrees
Quite tasty! Forest mushroom pizza outstanding, as was the seafood stew and prime rib. Had to ask for bread. Lots of floor staff so it was always easy to grab someone when something was needed.
Lungomare made our Christmas dinner memorable, giving us a window view that overlooked the water and the food was phenomenal! Ambiance was the icing on the cake. Thank you!
Excellent service and quick seating thanks to the Open Table app. I was hoping to have more traditional dining selections for Christmas but I did not research the menu prior to making the reservation. Parking was easy. Location lovely. I would definitely return in the future.
One of the few restaurants in the Bay Area that serves the Feast of the Seven Fishes on Christmas Eve. They had the a moderate price for it as opposed to the increased prices at A16 this year. The service could have been better - the plates were just plunked down in front of us with no recitation of the course. I hate the ambience of this restaurant - it lacks warmth or coziness. Love the craft cocktails. Portion size was minute, even for a three course meal. Inventive presentation.
This is one of our favorite restaurants. They have delicious appetizers including the red flint polenta and the grilled octopus. The main courses are very good also. We enjoy their pork chop and steak. They offer gluten-free pizza and pastas and the main courses can generally be made gluten free. Just all around a great restaurant with friendly staff.
Sunday evening Wine Down is a great deal, with reliably delicious food. I have been to Happy Hour also with additional ordering from menu and counter dining. I will definitely return again.
The waiters were trying to pickup before we were finish with our meal. They need to wait until thing are gone off the entree plates.
Had the grilled vegetable panini with the Lunch Fix Prix menu. The squash/mushroom/garlic soup was so good, as was the veggie panini. Lungomare is one of my favorite restaurants in Jack London Square. Kudos to Ricardo for excellent service as our server.
Tasty food and very nice service staff. The Sunday WineDown Dinner is a great value!
Lungomare is always a great place to unwind. The food is consistent & the wait staff is great!
Our server granted our request to be moved away from a large and noisy Christmas Party crowd.
The food here is average Italian fare. It's fine but no better than fine. We started with a generously portioned salad that was the best part of the meal. The two pasta entrees were average. The service was terribly inattentive. The waiter never even asked if we wanted dessert. Drinks were slow. There are better places in Oakland for Italian food.
This was my third time at this restaurant. My wife and I (had a party of two) made a reservation two days in advance through OpenTable and confirmed over the phone. We arrived at the restaurant at 18:45, 15 minutes before our reservation. We were awkwardly ignored by the staff at the door for about a minute then we were told our table wasn't ready and to take a seat in the bar area and wait, which we did. We waited until 19:20 (35 mins) for our table and from there everything was great. We had the same waiter we'd had a few other times and he was a great help, very friendly, knew tons about the food, had good recommendations and made sure we got the desserts we wanted. The food itself was very good, although the prime rib I ordered was undercooked (I asked for it well done, it was still medium on the inside). Everything else was fantastic though.
Upscale Italian restaurants are not the place to go on Thanksgiving. We have discovered this by going to several over the past few years. This restaurant will be wonderful for its excellent menu and wines. Its executive chef is a wonder! However, avoid it at Thanksgiving, when they tried to create a fancy Thanksgiving dinner, without much success.
The service is excellent, food delicious. We went for Thanksgiving fixe prix and were very satisfied and grateful!
My boyfriend and I went here for Thanksgiving, and it was literally the best meal I've ever had. We had a three course meal including drinks and desserts, and every course was flawless.
One of the very few places serving a Thanksgiving meal that had hearty and varied menu items.
We liked everything we had - prime rib was very good and cooked exactly as specified for each person, mashed potatoes were surprisingly scrumptious, salad and soup were unique and tasty and healthy, other side dishes were good - particularly the spaghetti squash dish and the brussel sprouts. The green beans could have been cooked slightly more if only to blend the flavors mixed with them.
The only side dish that was not good was the stuffing - something was wrong with it even though the ingredients seemed like it would have made it tasty - sausage, herbs, and a few key vegetables - but it was bland and soggy and instead.
Overall the food portions were just right for the 3 of us and the service was perfect - they had it down, as busy as they must have been on Thanksgiving.
The food is very good with some interesting combinations and seasoning. The atmosphere is a bit cold, however. Definitely not family friendly.
Thanksgiving meal was really tasty. The service was spotty. Loved our waiter but had to ask for our drinks a couple of times and there was a staff change and had to wave someone down for our check. But over all, positive experience.
Had dinner here Saturday night. Wonderful restaurant in Jack London Square right on the waterfront. I cannot say enough about the service and food. Our server was wonderful, very attentive and when she found out I was a vegan she communicated that to the chef and he made a special meal for me. I highly recommend Lungomare!
