Good food and service
Never again! Server was rude! Drink order took 40 minutes. Bread service came 1 hr 10 min after we arrived on time for our 7:30 reservation. Food arrived 1 hr 40 mins after our reservation. Salads were bland (we had 3 different salads). Did I mention server was extremely rude and blunt! Manager didn't seem to care. Restaurant was not crowded. We had booked this restaurant because we had been to a private function 3 months ago in June and food was great then. Something must have changed. Very very disappointed. Waste of money and time.
Very good all around!
Nice place to sit down by the water and have a casual meal w friends.
Dishes were pricey for what you got, and the service was just so-so. Not super attentive, and we had to ask twice for our wine and bread from two different servers.
The table service was excellent. The only complaint was that the food was slow. It was piping hot, so we know it was not the server's fault. The food was very good.
The food here was pretty good but the service was terrible. We were there for brunch and had 9am reservations which is when the restaurant opens. It took the waitress about 45 minutes to take our order. When the food came, she forgot to order some of the food and blamed my friend for not ordering it when everyone else heard her order it. One member of the party went to the bathroom and saw a random credit card sitting in the credit card machine on the way to the bathroom. Everything was super slow and we had to keep asking for things like water and coffee and syrup, etc. Then when the bill came, one person paid with a credit card and she returned the receipt with the credit card. When we asked where the card was, the waitress had to go back looking for it. Not surprised after seeing someone else’s card hanging out in plain sight as earlier mentioned. We all left shaking our heads. I will definitely not be returning to this restaurant. This is a great area with other restaurants and I recommend trying one of them instead.
Server had no information on the wine list, didn’t know the offerings and made up answers to hide his lack of knowledge. Terrible wine list, tired food menu.
Food was good, especially the Carbonara. Table service was good as well. What took down my scoring for service was the bar. We arrived early in order to take advantage of happy hour. I, for one, was not acknowledged as I stood there, let asked for my order. Then, as happy hour was about to end, when most bar tenders are pushing for to sell 'one more', I couldn't get anyone's attention. Let's just say, the bar staff needs some work.
First time there for a business lunch. Nice restaurant with a friendly staff. Located right on the waterfront in Jack London Square. Plenty of parking also.
I wish the Lunch menu had a few more items on it but the food tasted good. We shared a Margarita Pizza - Thin Crust to perfection (Crisp but not over cooked). The Bolognese Pasta and Cesar Salad looked good. I had the Kale Spring Salad and that was fantastic. Salads are a very nice serving size. I will be going back.
Lungomare is a wonderful restaurant right on the water. The view is fantastic and so is the food! My server Shannon made several recommendations, which I appreciated, and served me with great attention and kindness.
Food was too salty, came too fast, vegetables and potatoes were undercooked. Chicken didn't have much flavor.
Wonderful! Setting is beautiful, service was outstanding
I went for some innovative Italian fusion and there was fusion and some innovation, but execution fell short. Steak ordered medium rare came medium (bordering on well done); baby kale salad was well-conceived but the leaves that were beginning to go bad, even though they were few, make my guests have second thoughts about eating it. The antipasto of prosciutto and spiced peaches was the best of the lot.
There a lot of brunch options and they were very tasty and affordable. The service was very quick and they were very friendly.
Walked in with reservation, immediately seated in a beautiful location in the restaurant. Great waiter, food served hot via a runner, creative w out an over the top menu. All good!
Wonderful patio dining with views of the water! Great food and attentive service!
Excellent location and great view. The food is so-so however and the service (on this particular occasion) did not match the prices asked. It's a good spot for a nice date, but best if you're more concerned with looking at your date and not too concerned with the food.
Food took to long to be served. Ordered pork chops; very dry and chewed. Spouse ordered the scallops. There was only 3small scallops with the risotto. Very, very disappointed. Definitely won’t recomend.
This place was a huge disappointment- frito misto was like rubber, came without shrimp & halibut as said on menu.
They took off bill, good thing! Then, we ordered ribeye steak it was terrible- rare with no flavor & large pieces of fat covered in sauce. My halibut was frozen seared with a gross crust ~ soggy piece of fish with cucumber salad- just over all terrible!
On my way to the restroom I over heard our server & chef arguing about the plates we sent back!
Definitely a nightmare in the kitchen- not sure what’s going on but I’m not paying for this horrible service and unacceptable meal. I, we never do this but I just couldn’t see paying anything. The manager came to the table and basically dismissed us from their restaurant no apologies just here’s the bill.
I would NOT recommend this restaurant what so ever...
We were 7 mins late and the host could not find our reservation even tho I had received 2 texts saying my table was ready to which I had replied we were on our way. We waited for our friends - but they had already been seated - by the SAME HOST. When she said she could seat us anyway - but only indoors not out as we had reserved - we walked right by our friends and were finally able to join our party. This took nearly 20 mins.
We joined our friends and eventually ordered. The food took forever and my order was even more delayed because it had been given to another customer. The server graciously comped me my salad.
There was a lovely jazz band playing in the lounge, but sadly, there was also a swing dance event in the square just outside so we were completely unable to hold a conversation (while we were waiting endlessly for our food!) because of the competing bands' cacophony. The food was ok but I would not return. I am so sorry - but I hope this feedback is helpful to others and to the restaurant. It is nice to be on the water in this historic spot.
The location was great- especially the outside seating. Right on Jack London Square, close to the water. The menu options were good, without being overwhelming [a la cheesecake factory dictionary for a menu]. The food was very good. The server we had was also very good.
I am generally an objective person: and this restaurant is one I WILL return to and expect the quality to be equally good.
I tend to reserve 5 stars/excellent ratings for Michelin-starred restaurants, so- few/far between.
This restaurant was definitely a very very good one though, and I appreciated that the bread was something you had to request, instead of being foisted on us.
Good Job Lungomare!
Great outdoor seating a Jack London. Food and drinks were great. It's a little overpriced (you're paying for the view and location) but overall great spot.
This is our favorite place. We LOVE the gluten free pizza, the cocktails and the view!
Love the "Wine Down" Pre Fixe Sunday Dinner menu! Great choices and the free flowing wine is a great deal! Our server, Nick, was very attentive and professional. It was very quiet and comfortable on the patio.
I'm just going to review the fried chicken eggs benedict. It was amazing. If you're having brunch at Lungomare, I highly recommend it.
Great for celiacs, very understanding of gf diets. Outdoors romantic, good selection of cocktails as well as non-alcoholic drinks. A+ would eat here again.
Beautiful outdoor seating and a delicious seasonal menu.
Great venue, excellent service, good food. On a nice day, the grownups can enjoy a nice meal on the patio while the kids run around the nearby greenbelt in plain view. (Very reasonable kids menu too)
Food was delicious -- service was excellent and the view exceptional.
Extremely limited vegetarian options on the brunch menu. No vegan options.
we felt welcomed and the price was right. we can bring our little dogs to the outdoor seating. mussels were delicious and the drinks were generous. a value in jack London square
Service was very slow and it was not even half full. Food was not hot, like it had been sitting out for awhile before served.
Enjoyed the view. Loud, odd music. Pasta bolagnaise tasty but arrived Luke warm on cold plates. Waitress kindly took back to kitchen to warm up but still came back with cold plates which disappointing. Hot entrees should always be served on hot plates.
Would go again when staying at hotel.
Generally a great dinner.
The restaurant looked great on the website but was dated and tired in person. I wanted to take two friends out and was very disappointed when we walked in the restaurant. It went downhill from there. The hostess placed us at a table between two large groups that were LOUD. We had t o change tables. She should have seen that and put us somewhere else. Food was average. Service, however was good but did not make up for the experience.
Broth in the mussels appetizer was like plain water. Halibut portion size was 2in by 2un, much smaller than any other restaurant. Meatballs were so dry it was like eating sawdust.
Service was terrible. Had to find someone to take our order. But it got worse from there. Ordered wine and had to remind the waiter but then he forgot again!!! He then tried to bring our desert twice. The worst part though was the food. I ordered chicken at $30. He was dry and tasteless and the vegetables were undercooked. Could not cut them with our knife.
Visiting Oakland. Lovely setting. Good food
$24 for a pizza with sausage should’ve meant GREAT pizza. Instead, pizza was very mediocre. Wait staff was friendly but inattentive. Food for one of our dining companions was cold.
