Whether it's a meal for two or group outings this is a great place with fabulous views great cocktails and good food.
06/13/19, food was good, server very attentive and friendly , only complaint was no AC on and it was hot in the restaurant! Water is served with no ice so nothing cool on a hot day to get refreshed. 3 ladies sweating while eating is not for good rating
We had a reservation but were made to wait. We did not receive bread and our drinks order for 45 minutes. We did not receive our main courses until 75 minutes after we arrived. The kids' food and main courses were very good, but the drinks were watered down and almost tasteless. Steak was well prepared but cost $55. Will not return.
Based off the yelp reviews, I knew we were in for a 50/50 chance of a good or bad time. Unfortunately it was the latter. There for a birthday (and at the birthday girl's request), we had the Sunday Brunch menu. They were out of a few staples (lollipop kale, benedict, mussels), but we were there kinda late, so whatever. I had the Loco Moco, which was a terrible mistake.
The coconut rice was dry and crunchy, the burger patty was well done (tho per my request-- so, thanks!), the "grilled pineapple" was the size (and thickness) of three band-aids hidden under the egg, and the gravy was nothing short of traumatic. Maybe someone forgot to put the flavor packet into the pot? It was a white, viscous, nothingness. I shudder to recall the memory and must refrain from thinking about the natural association. I had friends on either side of me quietly try the gravy as well. They shared my horror. One of them gave me her bacon as consolation, which was fantastic because it was totally burnt to christ-- and that's exactly how I like it! I'm very grateful to have had the foresight to have ordered a side of avocado. That part was delicious and paired well with the OK fried egg I slid off the pile of regret on my plate. Notably, the kitchen did not have any soy sauce.
As for the rest of the meal, the shared burrata was yummy, but the toad-in-a-hole appeared quite tragic. Perhaps if the chef baked the egg in a silicone muffin cup and then placed it into the hole after the fact, or lined the hole with some prosciutto or something, it wouldn't all leak through the bottom of the brioche. Just a thought.
The homemade soda I had was delicious and the bamboo straw was cute. As a teetotaler, I do appreciate their craft soda menu. I wish more places had one.
Our waiter was nice, if not somewhat absent, and he noticed my lack of enthusiasm for the Loco Moco and did take it off the bill, which I appreciate. I def was not tryin' to make any drama, but he could tell it wasn't right.
All of the food my friends and I ordered was a bit too salty.
What a great location and such fresh food! First time here and very impressed, kind service, fresh ingredients and overall pleasant experience. Went during the happy hour and able to split some of the menu items. Loved the scenery of the marina, such a great spot for dinner
We hd a wonderful brunch! The food was excellent and the service prompt and attententive. All the staff was friendly, professional and welcoming!
Graduation for ten and logistics and timing were perfect!
Wonderful experience for a 40th birthday celebration. Attentive service from beginning to end.
Seafood stew was fresh and plentiful. Halibut was the best we've had.
Lungomare is our go to for large party brunches that require a reservation. We typically dine there with anywhere from 8 to 18 people 8 to 10 times a year. They are rarely crowded for brunch, so they are very flexible about adjusting reservations up or down by a person or two. The dining room has comfortable seating and is rarely too loud, but the outdoor patio overlooking the estuary is fantastic in nice weather. The servers are always friendly. The food is very good but not amazing. The menu is on the smaller side but changes seasonally. For example, on 6/1 they had a loco moco brunch entree, which was quite tasty and not something I remember having seen on the menu previously. All in all, highly recommended, but never quite hits five stars.
Wonderful afternoon Birthday celebration. Service was excellent.
The food was horrible, especially for the price. We would have had better food at the olive garden.
Mussels were barely what could be called warm. Had to ask waitress to heat the broth. Ate mussels at room temperature as didn’t want them toughened up in the numerous. Friends roast chicken an “OK” ish. My husband really liked his mushroom pizza.5/55
Great place to celebrate a special occasion. Service and food was great!
Love the location at Jack London Sq. It is right by the marina offering water views and an outdoor dining patio as well as a separate bar patio. Dogs are welcome and the food and service are great!
Lungomare is a decent restaurant with a nice view of the Oakland Estuary. The octopus appetizer and the pizza were excellent. The carbonara pasta was very good. The other pastas and appetizers were ok.
We wanted to do a late Mother's Day celebration, and picked Lungomare on a whim. It was the perfect choice. Great food, nice open restaurant, and very nice servers.
Shrimp was over cooked and mushy. Service was terrible.
Arrived early, went to bar to wait and have drink. Ordered decaf coffee and glass of wine. Bartender told me to go to cafe for coffee. This was the start of the bad service. I would never return to this restaurant.
The Sunday Winedown dinner at Lungomare is a great value. The cheese course and the pasta dishes are excellent.
The view of the Oakland harbor makes a lovely setting.
Service was excellent, even on a crowded Mother's Day at dinner time.
I would highly recommend Lungomare!
Special Mother’s Day buffet was OK at best. Selection/variety was limited and they seemed to have a difficult time keeping certain dishes stocked. Would much rather have had the option of either buffet or a la carte since variety on the buffet was minimal and quality suffered on some dishes due to volume production. Service was friendly and efficient and cocktails were great!
We went to lunch on Mother’s Day. It was busy but we were seated ten minutes early. The only issue was the waiter. Took forever to get our drinks and then forever for the bill.
Mother’s Day Brunch - yummy shot lots of selections!
We went to the Mother's Day brunch here a few years ago and it was great. This time... not so much. The food options were far more limited. The food quality was mediocre. The staff seemed a little overwhelmed which you think the restaurant would have accounted for since it was Mother's Day after all...
$60 per person for what we got was a rip off.
Won't be going back there for brunch.
The restaurant was not extremely full on this day and regular restaurant would have been better, but the Mother's Day Buffet this year was not up to par as in past years. The food was not kept restocked and the serving tables were quite dirty and should have been kept cleaner.
Although our waitress was extremely nice and we've had her in the past, she was slow in getting to our table to attend to our wine opening and clearing the table. Not sure what else was going on elsewhere in the restaurant.
Went for Mother’s Day. Overall very average. They had a buffet that you couldn’t order off another menu unless you sat at the bar. It was $60 per person. Food was average at best for the buffet, which didn’t even have eggs Benedict. If you’re going to charge $60 a head, should have more variety at the buffet. Service was subpar with bringing out drinks and what not. Overall just not worth the price for Mother’s Day. Clearly just wanted to nickel and dime you in honor of your mother. Kind of crappy, but nothing you can do about it
Food was very uneven. The risotto I had was very salty and dry, not creamy. The dessert tasted like it had been sitting around for several days. And the waiter seemed stoned. It took a long time to get a cocktail, then a long time to get our food and wine, and the place was not even tat busy. Won’t be returning.
Awful service. Waiter took forever between visits to our table. Food slow coming out, then waited forever to be offered dessert, then after she gave us menus she disappeared.
Patio was also freezing, no heater near our table.
Meatballs were really good. Pizza was acceptable. Nice Italian wine selection. Love sitting outside!!!!
Need more tables or at least chairs for music area, other than that the food, service, drinks... excellent!
We had a wonderful dinner at Lungomare. Special thanks to event coordinator, Patrick. Food was great and Andrew’s service was excellent.
Great food and great service
Nicholas was awesome and really allowed us to enjoy our evening. He provided great wine recommendations and made sure we had everything we needed from the moment we were seated to when we left the patio.
We're definitely coming back!
Food was a disappointment. Very dry sandwich. Good service and nice outdoor patio
The Easter Brunch was way over priced for what was offered. The food was bland and boring. They didn’t even offer any fruit and the only veg was asparagus. The service was extremely slow. Nobody came by to offer a second glass of water until we were getting up to leave. And forget about a second cup of coffee. Won’t ever eat there again. Especially since the Bay Area has so much more to offer.
Loved the waterfront view, the food, and the friendliness of the waitstaff. For some reason, we were slow to get dessert and to receive the final tab, but that won't keep us from coming back. Very lovely experience!
Lungomare is always an excellent choice. Saturday evening was a bit loud but we were far enough in the back that it wasn't that bad.
Very nice meal. Great margaritas. No, I will not write a review that long.
I don't know if you are under staffed but we ordered items that were not delivered. We asked for Parmesan cheese for one of the dishes that was not delivered until the pasta was consumed. We had to hunt down our server to get the bill.
